Close But Not Quite

*Is suddenly aware of a faint hissing sound, coming from not a long way off...*

"Erm, Tom...Phoenixflame...Morwena...can you hear that? It almost sounds like snakes..."

[PhoenixFlame]

"A pleasure to meet you both" Phoenixflame says with a smile.
*Looks around* "yes, I hear it too, Julia. And it sounds very close! Morwena, fly up and see if you can see anything, there shouldn't be anything that hisses in my school!"
*Morwena soars into the air circling around, beady eyes searching for the sound of the noise*
"Don't worry, she's pretty good at spotting anything dangerous from that height! "
*watches Morwena to see if she spots anything*

[King Hydrass]

*Unfortunatly Morwena is looking for something on the ground and not somethinf from the air. She never knew what hit her but sudernly Morwena was hit over her head from above by a hard boney like object and fell stunned from the sky.*

*The 3 freinds looked up in horror at what was now glareing at them with a pair of beedy piggy looking eyes that had a very deffinat evil glint in them. There hovering above the school was a hideius giant winged serpent. It's scales were jet black and glisened with a slimey redish tint. It's tail ended in what looked to be rattle not to disimler from that of a Rattle Snake and its ed toung kept flicking out of its mouth from which two vivious looking fangs were visibal. The montrosity was about the size of a an adolesant Dragaon and it streached from head to tail about 25 foot in lenth and had Bat like Wings.*

*This was The Flaying Sepent Deamon Chryso-Mamba one of the servents of The Dreaded Kar and there for an unquestioning totaly loyal tool of his representative in this relam and his high preist King Hydrass. And Hydrass had sent him to devour these 3 mortals that now stood before him.*

[PhoenixFlame]

*Rushes to Morwena and kneels next to where she fell* "Morwena, are you alright?!"
*there's no reply as Morwena is out cold*
*Phoenixflame stands up slowly and glares furiously at the winged serpent*
"Coward! Attacking poor Morwena like that!"
*Phoenixflame's eyes glow a pale silver colour and she begins to chant softly under her breath. Suddenly, several large, sharp shards of rock fly at the serpent as Phoenixflame continues her incantantion*


(OOC, hope this is OK with everyone so far, is the first time I've remained in an rpg thread for awhile! ;D )

[King Hydrass]

*Chryso-Mamba doged out of the way of the rocks and seteld it's self down on the School roof. It then slitherd down into the school cortyard and reard up hissing at Phoinexflame*

"Ssssssssssssssssss eneimesssssssss of The Coile will Perissssssh!"

[PhoenixFlame]

*Phoenixflame's eyes glow a darker silver and the sky starts to darken. Phoenixflame smile grimly and finishes her incantantion*
*There is a burst of light and a sparkling bird plummets from the sky towards the serpent, trailing lightning in its wake. It lands between Phoenixflame and Chryso-Mamba*
"Lets see how you handle my thunder bird!" Phoenixflame says calmly

[King Hydrass]

*Chryso-Mamba hissied angrily at the Thunderbird which replied with a loud squark. Chryso lunged at it and tried to entiwine the Thunderbird in its long coils and constrict the bird crushing it to death.*

*But the bird fought back with its beack and claws.*

[PhoenixFlame]

*The Thunderbird shrieked in defiance and narrowly missed being crushed by the coils that were aimed at it. She darted forward, aiming for Chryso-Mamba's head, narrowly missing as the snake withdrew its head out of reach*

"Come on Penny!" Phoenixflame exclaimed "Hang in there just a little longer"
*As Phoenixflame said that her eyes glowed a bright silver as she began to cast a second spell. As she was doing this, she checked worriedly that both Julia and Tom were OK*

[King Hydrass]

*Penny Flew up into the air to strike better at Chyrso. But the serpent was to quick it sunk it's fangs into her left leg.*

*Penny screeched in pain and her blood flowed into Mamba's mouth and riped out to the groun. Mamba kept a death grip on the foot and whiped its head down smashing Penny into the ground. He then lifted her up and rpeted this motion attempting to break the Birds back.*

[PhoenixFlame]

*Phoenixflame's face drained of colour as she realised what the serpent was trying to do. *
"Penny! Watch out!"

*There was a shriek of fury from beside Phoenixflame, and Morwena flew at Chryso-Mamba, darting at its face and trying to get it to release its grip on Penny*

"Phoenixflame! Summon a raven, a thunderbird is no use against this!"

[DimensionGirl]

*Is rooted to the spot and can't move through the first few moments of this conflict, as the shock is a bit too much. She realises how big the Hydrass threat must be. But her mind is fighting back against this paralysis and after a few minutes of helpless observation, she fights free of it. The powerful serpent is distracted by the Thunderbird and Morwena and isn't taking notice of Tom or Julia. It's at this exact moment that Julia fires a bolt at the distracted Chryso-Mambo - and it hits the creature directly in the eyes...*

[Raven]

*Raven exits through the School Library's external entrance, sees the conflict in the distance and run towards the School Gates*

[PhoenixFlame]

*The serpent shrieks as the bolt finds its target, and releases Penny, who instantly soars into the sky and vanishes from site*

"Good shot Julia!" *shouts Phoenixflame as the serpent writhes in agony fron the bolt*

*Morwena circles above, looking for another opening and spots Raven running towards the combat*

"I think we may have more help on the way!" Morwena says

*Morwena darts down and stabs at the serpents neck, narrowly missing as it miraculously manages to dodge the blow*

[Raven]

*Raven unsheaths her bow as she runs, recognising the combatants. She takes aim at the Serpent, trying to steady her aim whilst moving, and fires off a single shot, causing a minor cut on the back of the serpents kneck*

[Tom Troughton]

*Chryso shriked in pain again as Ravens Arrow lacerated his scale skin. He turned his head roud and upon seeing Raven lashed at her with his boney rattle.*

*However Raven apperd to float up into the air and the tail missed her by inches.*

"Strike One Old Worm."

*It was Tom Troughton he had used a Float spell on Raven to get her out the way.*

"Now try this one."

*Tom mumbled another spell and a bolt of lightning shot down from the sky and hit a tree not far from Mamba. The tree creaked and growned and then toppled onto Mamba's tail causeing the ginat serpent to shirk in agony and thrash about widly.*

"Ahhh not as intended I was aiming for the Snake itself."

*Tom said some what embarased.*
