*Shadow arrives at the marketplace, and luckily it's not very crowded. Shadow thinks about what she needs. She'll need provisions of course, and maybe she can do with a weapon as well. She begins to explore the markets.*
[OCC: If anyone who owns a weapon store is about then please come forward.]

[OOC: With no other Moderators around at the moment, I'm afraid you're stuck with me again! Luckily there is an NPC trader I've used previously.] *Trusty Seldam, as the people of Wolfenden still know 'him', watches the marketplace's few customers milling around. Business has been bad for all the traders recently, but this makes Seldam all the more determined to prove himself as a salesm... person. He watches Shadow, a face he does not recognise; but rather than regarding her as a potential customer, he takes her to be a poor street urchin, too many of which in this town are also petty thieves, and he decides not to try drawing her attention. Of course, she may see him looking...*

*As Shadow continues to walk, she remembers the Lexicon book that she was looking through before. She feels a bit silly leaving it behind at the inn and so decides to go back for it when she's finished here. She quickly catches sight of a merchant who's giving her a curious look, but then he quickly looks away. Shadow looks at his stall and feels that it's probably worth looking at. She approaches the stall.*

*Trusty is still unsure what to make of the girl, but attempts to be welcoming.*
Trusty: Of all the market stalls in all the realm, you had to walk over to this one!
*Pardon? What does that even mean? Get a grip, Trusty.*
Trusty: Er... because clearly you can see that it is the best market stall in all the land, haha!
*Smooth recovery. Sandpapery smooth. But if you're lucky, maybe it's actually worked.*

Hello there. Do you prehaps sell any weapons?
|
|
|
Post by Young Grimwold on Jan 3, 2012 18:26:06 GMT
*Trusty frowns slightly. Weapons can be sold at a good price... but to a child? She must be a servant or apprentice.*
Trusty: I have a wide range of sturdy weaponry at the fairest prices around. I'm sure your master or mistress won't be disappointed with what I have on offer!

Err...well actually I don't have either. But I guess...I'll be pleased?

Trusty: Oh, you are your own mistress then?

Well...I guess you could say that, yes. So...can I see these weapons?

Trusty: May I ask how old you are, miss?

I'm thirteen...I think so anyway. I can't quite remember.

*Trusty had been hoping for a response along the lines of "I may look like a child but I'm actually an elf maiden of 87 summers" or "I'm a dwarvish female of 204 who has drunk many youth potions". A 13-year-old wanting to buy lethal items for personal use is quite the predicament.*
Trusty: And might I ask why you are seeking weapons?

*Shadow is getting slightly impatient with Trusty.*
Well I'm going on a small quest so I need something for self-defence. If you have a nagitana, that would be okay.
*Shadow is quite experienced with nagitanas, but her last one was lost when a pack of ogres stole it from her. She'd love to have a new one.*

Trusty: A quest? So you are a dungeoneer? I thought that you dungeoneers were forbidden by your adventuring code from carrying weapons. I wouldn't want to get you disqualified - or get myself into trouble with the Dungeon Master.

Um...I'm certainly not a dungeoneer. I'm quite new around these parts so I don't even know what one is.
