*Trusty laughs.*
Trusty: And I don't know what a naginana is, so that makes us even! By the way, my name is Trusty Seldam.

*Not bothering to correct him...*
My name's Shadow. And if you want to know what one is, it's like a sword on the end of a stick.

[OOC: I think Shadow got the name wrong as well. ] Trusty: A pleasure to meet you, Shadow. I seem to recall seeing a weapon like that once, when a samurai warrior called Yasuke visited Wolfenden - but that was a long time ago and he has long since journeyed on. Do you want to know what a dungeoneer is? *An exchange of information. Nice and friendly. 'Fair trade is no robbery.' Perhaps there's something in that misplaced adage after all.*

*Shadow considers. If Smirkenorff has consulted with dungeoneers before, then that might be helpful.*
Oh yes please. That would be very nice.

Trusty: Well, dungeoneers are... erm...
*Trusty realises that he isn't entirely sure. His father met one or two but all he ever told Trusty was: "If you get a small customer in a big helmet talking to the spirits, be polite 'cause people are watching - but take him for all he's worth."*
Trusty: ...They were children, around your age, from another realm, who would come with their friends to take on quests for Lord Dunshelm the Dungeon Master. They helped him and the Powers That Be stand against Lord Fear.

I see...but why weren't they allowed to carry weapons?

Trusty: It may be that the Dungeon Master was worried that they'd injure themselves - or injure someone else. There'd have been no time to train them with any weaponry: they began their quests as soon as they arrived in the realm. It's been said that there was no obstacle a dungeoneer couldn't overcome without wits and agility.

This sounds intriguing...
*Shadow realises they're going off the subject.*
A-anyway, about this nagitana, do you have one?

*Since he has been honest so far, Trusty cannot lie, and shakes his head.*
Trusty: I fear you won't find a nanigaga anywhere in Wolfenden and that if there ever there was one, it left town with the samurai. There's nothing wrong with a discerning customer, Shadow, don't get me wrong, but why do you seek such an uncommon weapon?

Well...because I'm more experienced with one, I guess.

Trusty: You mean to say that you already know how to use weaponry? Forgive my asking but where would a child learn that?

*Shadow's mind turns blank. She's always known how to use a nagitana, but she can't remember training to use one.*
I...I don't know. I guess I've just always used it.

*It's at this point that Trusty really notices Shadow's eyes.*
Trusty: I wonder if you might be enchanted somehow. To have skills beyond your years, yet no memory of learning them...

It could well be. Not that I remember them anyways. I only have 3 years worth of memories. The rest are gone.

Trusty: Gone? As in locked away in your head? Or stolen out of it?
