Well...I'm a traveller. I woke up one day with only the memory of my name. But I know I have a purpose. I just can't remember what it is.

*Dreslin turns slightly at Callimpsest's comment and and observes Shadow talking to Dal. He looks over at her curiously for a moment, before speaking to Callimpsest*
"Tell me, is it normal for a child that young to be wandering alone? Though looks can be deceiving! Shall we introduce ourselves?" He says with a smile.

Dreslin, you have responded to my question with two further questions! I take it, though, that your sentiments are in the affirmative.
*Callimpsest turns and calls over to Shadow.*
Hullo! Would you care to join us, or are you waiting for someone?

*Shadow turns to the two men. She thinks a little conversation with someone other than Dal won't hurt.*
Nope, I'm okay for a chat.
*She walks up to the two.*

Do sit if you wish. *Callimpsest indicates a spare chair at the table.* If I know Dal, he will have named us to you already.

*Shadow sits down.*
Yes he has. You're Dreslin and you're Callimpsest, right? I'm Shadow.

[OOC: Dal couldn't remember Dreslin's name! Perhaps Callimpsest was talking loudly when he said it just now. ;D]
A pleasure to meet you, Shadow. It's unusual for child travellers in this realm not to use their given names; though having said that, I am acquainted with a young lady named Meliss who opted for the sobriquet 'GreenDragon'. I'm presuming, of course, that Shadow is not your real name.

Well...I think it's my real name. I lost my memory a long while back, but I remember finding a note near me that said 'Shadow' on it, so I presumed that was my name.

You lost your memory but not your ability to read then. Intriguing. And this provides a link, if I may, to a matter about which Dreslin and I wanted to ask you. What experience have you of books?

I love books. I always try to read anything I come across.

Well, that is most pleasing to hear, is it not, Dreslin?
And are you well acquainted with libraries? I should imagine that you have sought their wisdom whenever possible in your efforts to regain your identity.

Yes I did, but nothing rang a bell to me. What a shame.

Indeed. But you seem to be persevering, and if there's any justice, your respect for books will be rewarded with the answers you seek. In fact I myself have several tomes that may be of help to you.
*It's at this point that Callimpsest notices Shadow's eyes. They startle him, immediately putting him in mind of the infamous red-eyed glare of Lord Fear. Keeping his concern to himself, he glances at Dreslin to see the elf's reaction, even though he knows that an elf from another realm entirely will have no such awareness of Knightmare's Opposition.*

*Shadow looks in confusion at Callimpsest's face. He seems to be slightly shocked. She wonders if it's because of her eyes, after all they are red.*
Umm...o-okay. That sounds good!

*There was a time when Callimpsest had little to fear from the Opposition. In fact, Lord Fear and his minions have been so quiet for so long that any humble townsperson could be forgiven for feeling complacent. But now, with knowledge of the Tower of Time in his possession, Callimpsest realises the responsibility he bears and the terrible consequences if he should be careless in the wrong company. He tightens his hold on the grey almanac and glances again at Dreslin, feeling safer for his presence. He turns back to Shadow, knowing he'll feel safer still if he can establish whether or not she can be trusted.*
...But of course, I don't wish to burden you with a stack of books that are of scant relevance! So tell us, aside from the note you mentioned, what clues have you gathered so far as to who you are, or indeed who you are not?
