A shame that this realm does not administer itself as a library does. We might have fewer of these indefinite disappearances then!
*Callimpsest realises that he has been able to mention a library without becoming bitter and melancholy. The opportunity that the Tower of Time has given him is cause for more optimism than he ever dreamed of having. All the same, he does not want his plans to come under scrutiny. He has instinctively drawn the almanac a little closer to him.*
Are libraries commonplace in your home realm?

*Dreslin didn't seem to notice Callimpsest pulling the book closer to him as he pondered the question, and smiled cheerfully at him*
"Libraries are quite common in my homeland, however, these are usually very specific in what they contain, for example, one library will contain all the water spells that the mages have put to paper, another would contain the fire spells, and yet another would contain myths pertaining to one specific area of the land. Each library is interconnected, so to gain all the information you required, you would have to travel to the great library of El'thana, in our capital city."
*Here Dreslin paused to take another mouthful of porridge, and to double check he wasn't boring his audience*

Fascinating. And are the libraries well used, and used well?

So this must be the inn. Well now I don't have to worry about where to sleep tonight. But once again, this place still looks familiar. Even the innkeeper rings a bell...

[ModNote: I have merged 'Finding the inn' with 'Waking up', since both threads are happening in the same place at the same time. Shadow was previously seen in At last.] *Dal Marx the innkeeper looks across at the girl who has just entered. It's a long time since an unaccompanied child wandered around Wolfenden talking to themselves, and back then they wore the Powers That Be's helmets. If this one is not a dungeoneer, then who is she? Dal waits behind the counter.*

*Shadow goes up to the innkeeper and asks him if she could have a room. Thankfully, there is one going spare. She asks if they've met before, but Dal says that he doesn't recognize her.*
Maybe I'm just imagining this. I'll sleep on it.
[OOC: (2nd August) Right, I've edited this post so it fits the style of the forums properly. Sorry if I wasn't supposed to, but it kept bothering me everytime I read it. It basically says the same thing I wrote last time.]

*Dreslin looks slightly puzzled at Callimpsest's question then smiles cheerfully*
"Indeed they are my friend, there is nothing my people enjoy more than continuing their learning*
*He looks keenly at Callimpsest, then continues*
"Is this not the case in this realm? I would have thought that a realm where magic was rife, then the libraries would be well used?"
*Dreslin leaned back in his chair slightly, and links his hands behind his head*

Well, I think I'll need to get my bearings a bit, but I'll stay in the inn for one more night and see if I can remember anything.
*Lots of people are walking around the inn. Shadow wonders if she can start a conversation with someone.*

Where there are magicks there are books, certainly. But books do not necessarily mean libraries for the public. I cannot speak for all the peoples of this realm, but as a past and future librarian I will always wish for more folk to read more books!
*Callimpsest has noticed the young newcomer talking to Dal the innkeeper over at the counter. Callimpsest doesn't recognise her as a former pupil of the Knightmare Boarding School. Then again, he never met all of the pupils; and children, unlike much in the realm, can change so quickly. Callimpsest turns back to Dreslin.*
I wonder if we should seek answers to your questions from a potential bibliophile much younger than we?

*When Shadow finishes talking to Dal, she looks over to see two men looking over at her. They seem quite curious. Do they know anything prehaps?* [OOC: (2nd August) I edited this one too. Sorry, but it just looked like Shadow was standing there reciting a story ]

*Dal notices Shadow looking at two of the other guests.*
Dal: *Pointing* The one is called Callimpsest. He's lived here at the Wolf's Howl ever since he left the school library. And the elven fellow with him... I can't recall his name. He's not been in Wolfenden long but he spent the last few days in his room in some kind of trance.

Shadow: Oh dear. That musn't have been a pleasent experience for him.
*Shadow seems a little concerned for these men's well-beings now.*

Dal: You mean the elf? He seems none the worse for the experience. He's been tucking into cold porridge! The elves of this realm don't hibernate or meditate or what-have-you in the way he did, but he's from elsewhere so perhaps his kind do.

[OOC: You don't have to put your character's name every time she speaks. I'm only doing it to indicate that it's not my main character speaking.] *Dal frowns.* Dal: Callimpsest as I said has lived at this inn since leaving the school, and the elf is in Wolfenden for the first time, I believe. *Pause* And what about you, miss? If you are a regular visitor to this town, I've not seen you here before.
