Vyrrian's eyes opened in awe as Ann pulled her hair across, revealing her ears. He had heard stories of different cultures and creatures, yet to be in the presence of someone else who lived a completly different way of life... it was a new experience for him.
'I've always been fascinated by other species and cultures. There are times where I've been quite envious. Sometimes I think about all the stories I've heard over the years about, and I often think that humans as a species live quite a dull existance.'
'How long until you feel it's time to return home?'

*Ann-Marie was quite taken aback by Wren's question, though she missed her home she also knew she wasn't ready to go back. She had a lot to see and learn and a lot of people to meet.*
I'm not quite sure really. Though I can't wait to go back to the forest I also know that I am not yet ready to go back there.
Theres too many interesting people to meet, things to learn and well I would like to travel and maybe see more of the world before I return there...So it may be a few years yet.
What about you?
*Ann-Marie looked into Wrens face looking into his eyes.*

'Not for a long time yet. I think you've got the right idea. I don't know why, I just feel the need to see as much of the world as I can. I can't really explain it... It just seems the most 'right' thing I've ever done.'
'I guess that makes me sound a little weird.'
Besides, there's nothing waiting for me back there. Not anymore.

No not at all..I guess my reason is to learn and well to see what the world holds and maybe figure out why the world is like it is.
Maybe when you know why your looking or maybe what your even looking for then you'll find the answer.
*Shrugs*
Who knows, the world is a wide place to travel though and many faces I await to meet, many people to greet, many things to say and many things to do. abd yet when I travel the path to what I seek I sometimes find that what I seek is not where I expected to find...

'True. The trick, though, is not to go looking for it. To wait until it comes to you. In my experience, things happen when you least expect them too. People can spend their whole lives looking for something and find nothing. Other's simply wait, and what they secretly seek comes to them.'
'But that's just me. Generally the things that find me aren't particularly nice.'
He smiled at Ann.
'At least, until now.'

*Ann-Marie blushes slightly and smiles.*
Well yes Wolfenden is a nice place...
*A drunken man or two start to sing drunkenly to a rather crude song before one trips over from swaying knocking the other over.*
*Ann-Marie bursts out laughing and looks back at Wren.*
Well most of it is nice...

*Ann-Marie placed a hand on Wren's arm pausing his action.*
Leave it be Wren..it's all ready sorted.
*She indicated Dal who she caught nodding his head.*
Dal has it sorted and if not him ....
*She glances over at Leytan.*
I'm sure he will....

Vyrrian released his grip from the table. He hoped Ann didn't notice that a chunk of it was now badly crushed...
'Sorry Ann. It's the one thing that really gets my goat.'
He watched as Leytan delt with the upstart in his own special way, inflicting a great deal of pain.
'That's the second time tonight I've watched that man be the centre of attention. He certainly has a direct way of thinking.'

*Despite the man deserving what he got Ann-Marie still winces when Leytan deals with him.*
That he has...wish there was other ways to deal with things ..especially people like that but there isin't sadly.
*Ann-Marie swirls her drink in her glass for a moment or two looking into the wine almost lloking as if she is seeking the answer to one of lifes many questions.*
Why did you choose to live your life the way you did?

'The travelling? A lot of reasons, really. Probably the most important one being I'm fully in control of my own life. If I don't like where I've end up, I leave. Simple as that. No ties, no regrets, just doing what feels natural to me.'
'I might settle down one day... when I'm older, and a great deal richer of course' he conceded, smirking. 'But I don't see that happening for a while. I got a lot of work to do before then.'

*Ann-Marie smiled but shook her head gently.*
Never understood why people want to be rich before they settle down..there is plenty of things in the world that comes for free that is much better than a nice outift or the latest ornaments or the biggest house..
But then I grew up learning that though money can be nice so can surviving the world without the real need of it..
To hunt, to make your own things..to make your own bread I find more pride in than paying for with money..

'Ya got a point there. Money, power, some people find it so easy to fufil their dreams with both. It just depends what you want out of life. And as much as I wanna keep moving, you gotta rely on the ol' shiny silver every once in a while.'
'I guess everyone has vices, no matter how small. Sad but true.'

Each person has a weakness or vice as you call it...mine are strawberries...
*Ann-maris smiles and takes another sip of wine then pushes the empty glass to wards the bar where it is instantly filled again.*
So what are your vices?

'Just one'.
Vyrrian flexed his gloved hands, and as if by magic a small bottle of what looked to Anne like a condiment appeared.
'That spice I told you about earlier. From the Sandstone mountains? It's wonderful stuff. Probably the finest seasoning you can get. Fetches huge sums on the market. I have a quick nip every evening, keeps the blood flowing.'
