*Ann smiled but gently shook her head.*
As much as I would love your company Wren the dinner rush ihas started and I have to work, Dal will start worrying something has happened if he doesn't see me for more than five minutes, besides I only have a hour or so before I finish so I get a nice break then...
*Ann-Marie heads for the door.*
If you want you can join me for a drink later on down in the bar?

'I look forward to it, my lady.'
Vyrrian raised his glass to her.
'My thanks. You've made me feel most welcome.'

*Ann-Marie nodded her head then left Wren to enjoy his meal.Closing the door behind her she looked again over the rail. The inn was practically full now. Men cheered at announcements made by their companions, some whispered in corners their eyes scanning the room for trouble or for people who got too close to hearing what they were saying.. If you weren't carrying a tray of food or drinks over to them..you may find yourself in trouble upon leaving the Inn.*
So this is the rest of my life hmmm?
*She muttered to herself as she walked down the stairs to the bar and began to serve the customers. They each smiled and gave her their thanks for the ale, wine or mead that they asked for and received or they would frown and grunt as they quickly headed for a table to simmer in their foul mood. She just smiled and laughed at the jokes. In a way she enjoyed the Inn things were hardly ever quiet or routine. Rumors spread round like wildfire and she had learned quite early in getting here that as long as you didn't believe everything you hear they at least made good entertainment.. She knew though that her full heart wasn't one to be here...Give her the earth under her feet, the sky above her head and a river to swim in as often as possible and you had one happy woman. Her mother had brought her up around nature..to respect and see the good things in that most people dismissed as just there...*
*Many nights around a camp fire she had learned new things and loved listening to the stories of myth and legend everyone told. She remembered the stories the elders told her..of what they got up to in their youth and how each generation was just like the next...How everything changes yet doesn't....How the world was something to be enjoyed rather than to hide from..but she was of a nervous shy nature and kept near home until her mother sent her here not long ago. Her life changed and unexpected..She sometimes looked to the door and expected her Mother to enter to take her back...but she wouldn't...Ann-Marie was here for now and maybe for a while she would be but one day she.....*
Miss, Miss? Hello?
*Suddenly Ann-Marie came back to the Inn she smiled apologetically at the man and gave Him the drink on the house. Soon the end of her shift came and she was grateful to get away from the hustle and bustle of the bar and to find a quiet shaded corner where she wasn't a wench but just another person blending in with other people. Her thoughts her own, with a nice cool drink of wine she watched the people and smiled. Her meal arrived of peppered beef and vegetables with gravy and bread. She inhaled deeply...one thing she didn't miss about camping was the fare was not as good as here. *

Vyrrian grasped the tankard firmly, put it to his lips and drunk. He felt a warm feeling wash over him, akin to slipping into a boiling hot bath. It had been a while since he had drunk a poper glass of traditional ale, and he savoured the taste.
The bread looked and tasted delicious. As soon as he bit into it, Vyrrian knew it had been made mere minutes before. The scraps of dry bread he had taken with him for sustenance on his journey were incomparably to this luxury.
It didn't take him long to finish his meal, but it was the best Vyrrian had tasted for months. A simple meal, but simple pleasures are often the best kind...
He deposited his plate upon the floor, and returned to his ruminating.
A low profile was definatly in order. The less who knew of his presence, the better. The people who sought to find him out, he reasoned, were the only ones serious enough to consider his services. And he would have to find a source of income soon. He had given his gold pieces from the road as payment, and all that was left was about 15 silvers. Enough for maybe one day after his two weeks...

*Smiling as she ate her meal in what peace a person could in a bar full of people who laughed, cheered, growled and more she finished her meal in her own time. After wards she took the plate into the kitchen and washed it and the glass. The meal had been very filling and the wine refreshingly cooling to her warm body casued by the heat in the inn and kitchen. After washing up and checking what duty she had the next day she went upto Wrens room and knocked. Slightly louder this time as she wasn't concentrating on keeping a tray balanced.*

... he hoped he wouldn't run into Leytan on a job. Not that he didn't like him, he was certainly a figure to aspire to, but he hadn't forgotten the feeling of coldness washing over him back in the Market. Plus, he was a potential rival.
A knocking cut through his thoughts like a blade. He sat up, stood, and slowly walked to the door.
He opened it and smiled. It was Ann.

*Ann-Marie smiled and looked at the rather thightful expression on Wren's face, for a minute she wondered if she had interupted something but then he smiled and she smiled back.*
I hope I'm not breaking you from some in depth problem solving but wondered if you was ready to join me in the bar?

'Ah yes! No, I was just finishing my supper. Thanks, it was just what I needed.'
Vyrrian walked out into the hallway, closing the door and locking it. He turned to Ann, and offered his gloved hand.
'Shall we?' he asked, with a mischievous grin on his face.

*Ann-Marie smiled back, and took hold of Wren's hand though for a monet or two she pondered why he still had his gloves on. It was hot in the inn and gloves she thought were uneeded but different people had different ways.. Walking down the stairs felt some what strange as a couple of people turned and looked over at the pair, Ann-Marie blushed deeply at the sudden unwanted attention she received. At the bottom of the stars she quickly headed for the quiet side of the bar ducking meekly into some shadows..not realising that maybe this gave a diiferent impression to the one she actually wanted to send out.*
*Asking Amanda for a drink of water she smiled and nodded her head at the girl..she had heard the girl was the way she was because of a man she once dated..Ann-Marie wondered if love could have such an effect on someone that it simply made you blind to all their faults...even beyonf that of leaving dirty clothes all over the place...to something so much more sinister. She mentally shook herself out of her reverie for now was she in good company and now was not right for such strange thoughts.*
*Turning her attention back to Wren.*
So why did you leave your home?

'Oh, the normal reasons. Wanting to see the world, make something of my life, you know how it is. Working on a farm didn't really appeal to me, and a man has to live on something more than cabbages for every meal.'
He felt the words coming naturally to him. For all intents and purposes it was your typical 'boy comes of age' story.
'I left when I was five to find a proper 'education'. I found it in one of the Guilds near Mordavia. Nice place actually, the main castle's a bit of a ruin these days but it's a got a great city. You can buy anything there if you know where to look.'
'I finished my education just over a year ago. I've been travelling since... you could say I'm a bit of a drifter. It's a good lifestyle. Get's me out in the fresh air, and a meet a lot of interesting people.'
It's a pity most of them want to kill me, Vyrrian added mentally.

Five?!?! Thats a bit young isin't it?
*Ann-Marie briefly thinks of how long she has been away from home...not even a month now and she still missed her home badly.*
*Ann-Marie glanced down at Wren still gloved hand and wondered.*
It's very warm in here...why don't you take your gloves off?

'It wasn't much to miss. A couple of fields, a cow pasture and three houses. Not really a place for anyone 'cept farmers. And that's not really a job for me.'
Vyrrian looked down at his gloved hands, grimacing.
'I can't. Had a run in with this brigand 6 years ago when I was passing through this old castle. I'll never forget him. Had a metal eye patch, kept saying how 'lovely' things were. Tried to rob me, and when I told him I had nothing...'
He shuddered at the memory.
'It's not a very pleasent story. I'm sorry.'
'Anyway, what about yeself? Something tells me there's more to you than just a serving wench. I get a very... woodland vibe from ye.'

*Ann-Marie smiles slightly.*
Yes..Doesn't blend in here very well..but I make do. My mother is a elf . Her and my family live in a forest many miles from here. Quite different from here...we don't have any inn's there or shops as such. We make most of clothes, weapons etc etc. Catch our own food and well yes very much into being with Nature and walking it's path than roaming this town but..my mother sent me here where the Inn reopened after some accident. She felt that I was of an age to experience the world and see what it has to hold for me...
So far few things have given me any reason to miss my home any less I hope toy go back one day but half the task is actually finding my way back..Until your my age you don't really leave the forest unless for lessons etc but sometimes elves are sent away into the world..when it is thought that maybe they are not yet ready to bind themselves to nature forever.
So here I am..learning new experinces, meeting new people...though I don't think my mother ever thought I'd end up a taven "wench" .
So what was it like being by the sides of it on your own from the age of 5?

'Oh, I wasn't alone. At least, not back then. I travelled with my brother Samael, we left home the same time. Samael said he felt responsible for me. Didn't want me getting into touble before I could handle it.'
Vyrrian sighed.
'Samael... left me when I was quite young, before I enrolled in my establishment. Since then, I guess I have been kinda alone. But I'm able to take of myself now. 15 years of schooling does that for you. Especially where I studied.'
Vyrrian raised his eyebrows, and grinned.
'Cor. Always wanted to meet an elf. It's a life I respect a lot. But, if you don't mind me saying so, you do look quite human.'
'Yes, I keep hearing about this 'accident'. I've also heard a lot about this name that's been bandied about, a Mister 'Edward Deal.' Do you know anything about him?'

*Ann-Marie smiled gently and laughed quietly.*
The reason I don't look elvish is because I'm not full blood Elf..my father is very much human. Him and my Mother met long ago but parted ways when he wanted to remain in the city and she wanted to return to the forest. I came as quite a surprise when I arrived not that many moths later....
*Ann-Marie holds up her hair showing off her ears, though not as pointed as a full elf her ears were far more pointed that for a human and the lobe down and joined her head rather than curving towards the head....
The accident was before I arrived and their are many, many rumours. All I know is that there was a explosion and that the owner of this Inn was killed in it.
Ad for Edward Deal rumours are wide and getting darker by the day, each person wanting Edward Deal to be darker than the other men can portay..Best place to hear bout him is here as not many talk of him when they are sober...all they say is he was a dark man that paid for his crimes when he eventually got killed.
But to hear more you will have to ask others..I have yet to gain the full story of him.
*Ann-Marie by this time had let her hair fall back down round her face and resumed sipping her drink.*
