[ModNote: Continued from Cross When The Man In Green Shows.] *Young Grimwold and Robin stand outside the Wolf's Howl Inn. This was where YG woke up after being returned from the Battle Royale. Alone and eager to go out back then, he ponders the fact that he is now keen to go in. He's addressed much of his post-Battle worry (though still no explanation of The Boy and the Old One's endgame have been forthcoming), and been lucky enough to find a new friend - not so much a comrade, but someone who has chosen to remain in his company. And what better way to honour that than by dining together?* *YG looks up at the building, then over at Robin.* I hope it's quiet in there.

It varies... doesn't it?
*nervous look*

Everywhere does round here. But I hope it's sedate at the moment. I may not like the sound of my own voice, but I'd like to be able to hear yours.
Too many of the local places have threatening names: Crazed Heifer, Wolf's Howl... and the Dirty Duck tavern turned out to be rhyming slang for something rather rude. My mother opened a hostel once, just after she got married: Mrs. G's Pot. But the landlady of the Merry White Horse had it shut down. Quite a rivalry there... but those are stories for another time.

Very well... time for food and drink, then!
*He opens the door of the Wolf's Howl, and steps forward into a very civilised atmosphere, YG following him.*

*Amanda Belligham the serveing wench was back at her old job, the other 2 serveing girls had left aftet the murder so she hoped that with them gone she may be alowed to forget about her relationship with Edward Deal.*
*She saw Robin and YG enter and went up to them.*
"Good morning gentlemen. How may I server you?"

A table, please. Not to eat, but to sit at. Then we'll eat.

*Amanda smiles wanely at the ogre and at Robin, then leads them over to a table quite away from a group of others. The Inn is pretty empty at the moment and very much quiet with only hushed talking coming from the other occupied tables. Several of the customers had looked up when the two arrived some smileing at Robin and then spying YG would frown then smile slightly before going back to what ever they were discussing before.*
Amanda: Here's your table. If you let me know what you want to eat I'll let the new cook Eithina know.
*Amanda passes them both a elegant looking menu.*
Amanda: What drinks would you like?

*Despite the odd looks of some of the patrons, YG feels comfortable in the inn, because of the company.*
My friend here saved someone from drowning earlier, so something celebratory to drink would be good. Something we could share. Brother Mace introduced me to many wines and spirits, but always shied away from drinking Etruscan brandy with me for some reason... do you stock any of that, Miss?
[OOC: I may not be able to post over the next few days. Obviously the thread can run on, as long as no one puts words in YG's mouth!]

*Amanda raises a eyebrow but gives no comment. It was up to them what they drank. With a nod of her head...*
We do indeed gentlemen.
*With that she walks behind the bar takes two small glasses and half fills them, then takes them over to YG and Robin and places them in front of them.*
Will that be all until you have choosen your meal?

*YG eyes the satisfying green glimmer of the brandy. It seems to be more than 50 years old, which is best.*
It's a while since I've had a choice of meals! Do you... do you have any recommendations? For either of us?

I'll just have a hunk of bread and butter, please, And some cheese, if you have any.
*To YG* I'm telling you, Grimwold, even that is something special compared to what I eat in the forest. Now, you order whatever you want. I've... acquired a buit of money recently, it's my treat.
*He raises his goblet.*
Cheers!

*Young Grimwold is a little startled - he wasn't expecting a toast so soon, and Robin's offer to pay is generous too. Grateful, he raises his drink too.*
Cheers. As Brother Mace used to say: in vino veritasty!
*Although YG isn't a staunch vegetarian - he often wanted to decline his mother's rat stew, but Mrs. Grimwold was never a fan of the word 'no' - he has eschewed (rather than chewed) meat in recent years. He spots an appetising option on the menu.*
Could I have two vegetable hotpots, please?
*He looks sheepishly at Robin.*
Ogre appetite, I'm afraid.

*Amanda makes a mental note of their order.*
I'll just go get your meals
*With that she disappears off into the kitchen. Minutes later appearing with the bread, butter and cheese for Robin and a rather large bowl of vegetable stew for YG. She places both meals in front of them.*
If you want anything else just give me a yell.
*She then leaves them to enjoy their meal and goes deals with another customer waiting at the bar.*

Thank you.
*The smell of the vegetables hits YG. He thinks back for a moment to the food rations he had during the Battle Royale: large unleavened crackers that tasted sweet yet stale. Most likely designed for the battle by the mysterious powers in charge of it, as they were enough to keep all the contestants nourished and awake for however long they were in the arena... but this is not the time to be mulling over all that again.*
*YG is very hungry, but, reminding himself to use the cutlery provided, he sp00ns the stew into his mouth, slurping slightly.*
