*Setting down his club, YG stands behind Robin, takes hold of the rope, and pulls. He tempers the vigour of his tug-of-war with the fear that if he pulls too hard, Callimpsest's leg will come off. But YG and Robin's combined strength is not quite enough to lower the librarian. They need at least another pair of hands.*

'Well, things are finally happening at last. Still, I think it might be a good idea to stay out of everyone's way for the forseeable future, don't you Ed?'
Julian paused, awaiting some kind of answer. None came.
'Ed... Ed?'
He turned around. Next to him was a distinctly Kenji shaped empty space. Even before he looked up, he knew with a sinking feeling in his gut what he was going to see. Sure enough, looking back up at the curious spectacle outside the pub, he saw the leather jacketed shape of his travelling companion grab the rope and begin to pull.
That man is going to be the death of me Julian sighed, bringing his hand to his forehead in the now classic Facepalm. Finally resigning himself to meddling in things which didn't quite concern him once again, he took off after Kenji and tensed himself up for a bit of brute strength.

[OOC: Sorry for my delay in posting.]
*It works. Soon Callimpsest's feet brush something firm, and he dares to open his eyes. He takes in the rope-pullers.*
Oh. Oh!
*He catches his breath. His life has been saved, but he has other concerns. Looking down at his leg, he sees the rope. [OOC: If Malark is still on Callimpsest's boot, then he gently shakes the mire crab off.]
Quickly, transfer the rope from me to the net. Then may I let go!

*Robin, shaking, leaps forward, leaving YG, Kenji and Julian, as well as the other rope-pullers, to hold on.*
Here we go...
*He gently unties the knot, and makes a complicated loop-knot around the net's handle.*
There... that... ought to hold.

*Malark lands saftly on the ground and scuttles back over to Zeytan who picks him up and pats him on his shell.*
"Well done Malark."
*He says to the little Mire-Crab he then walks over to the net and has a closer look at the brick that is ensnared inside.*
"Hmmm Finaly we have you some what grounded....now maby we can unlock what ever secret it is that you hide."
*Notices something on the side of the brick.*
"Well.....either my eyes are playing tricks on me or there's something enscribed on this thing."

*Callimpsest finally lets go. Shaking his aching arms and wiggling his fingers, he stands to one side to catch his breath. Despite his ordeal, he seems in good spirits.*

*To Zeytan* Maybe we should let the rope-holders keep pulling until the net and brick are no longer in the air. Then, if we can work out a way to pin the net to the ground, we can get a good look at the brick, without fear of anyone over-exerting themselves or having a nasty fall!

*YG feels irritation towards Callimpsest for not immediately thanking his rescuers, and towards Dreslin for not offering to join in the rope-pulling. He waits a moment to see if Robin will return to the tug-of-war. As YG waits, he decides to introduce himself to the other rope-holders [OOC: only Julian and Ed, as far as I can tell]: although this is no time for socialising, the two men have been gracious enough to work alongside an ogre without any unkindness or intolerance, so courtesy is certainly called for. YG turns to the duo.*
I'm Young Grimwold, by the way. Hello.
*A few moments later, YG is pulling the rope again. The net and brick are dragged down further and further, until the net handle is parallel to the ground and almost touching it. He listens out for any ideas the others may have of how to keep the net on terra firma.*

*Phoenixflame glanced over to where the others were all standing, and breathed a sigh of relief to see Callimpsest safely on solid ground. She took a break fronm her spell casting and called over to them*
"Nice work everyone!!"

*Callimpsest smiles at PhoenixFlame's remark. He seems excessively cheery.*
Oh verily, certainly and indeed! You were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. And d'you know what? So was...
*Callimpsest freezes. He's caught a glimpse of the brick wall of a nearby building. His ordeal comes into focus.*
...Aiiieeee!
*He collapses. For a moment, he lies on the ground shivering and burbling. Blurred visions of Knightmare Realm locations drift through his head - Wolfglade, Vixendale, Vale of Worms, Goblin's Copse, Molefield, Newtheath - but some of them aren't even real places. Definitely not that last one.*
Newt Heath. That's weird.
*Callimpsest passes out.*

*Meliss goes over and crouches beside Callimpsest. She passes one hand through the air just above his head*
"No need to worry. He seems to be exhausted but will recover once he's had a good rest in a comfy bed"
*Then another idea comes to mind*
"When he comes to, one thinks a good cup of tea will do him some good"

[OOC: I see wat u did thar, Cal ] 'Ngggh... pleasure to meet you, sah. Jules and Ed. We'd shake you by the hand, but I fear the others may go flying.' Julian seemed completly oblivious to the fact that he was in fact addressing an ogre, although he later doubted it would have made much of a difference. 'I don't suppose someone could enlighten us as to the nature of all this ballyhoo? Flying bricks and so forth, it's all really quite peculiar.' 'Someone mentioned something about writing on that levitating slice of masonry. Can someone take a look before our arms pop out of our sockets?'

*YG has scant information to offer in response to Ed's request for enlightenment, [OOC: Or was it Julian's? I do find it hard to tell who's saying what sometimes...] and so attempts to craft his facial expression from one of frustration into one of puzzlement. Ogres are not famed for expressive faces however, especially when it comes to emotional states other than anger, so whether YG succeeds is very much in the eyes of the beholders.
YG turns as Callimpsest collapses, but his rope commitment means he can do little but watch. Not that he feels all that sympathetic: Callimpsest got himself into that mess, and is pummelling the patience of those who have been helping him out of it. That brick had better be worth the trouble.*

*Dreslin has gone over to Callimpsest, and kneels next to him.*
Callimpsest, how about Adric? Er, I mean, a drink? Carrot juice? Or tea, as Meliss suggests? But what type?
*Members of the crowd of onlookers, who've not been of much help so far, decide to offer some suggestions. (Some, compared to others, have a bit more to do with herbal tea.)*
"Watercress tea! Sure to ease his pains and aches, long as it's fresh."
"Tea, Earl Grey, hot."
"Ooh, nice tea!"
"Chamomile!"
"Maximus Brewuppacuppa!"
"Did you just say 'chamomile'? It's camomile, you oaf!"
"No, it's chamomile. You're the oaf."
"Cease your arguing, churls. This is madness."
"No. THIS.. IS... CAMOMILE!"
*The crowd mutates into a mild brawl, as the champions of chamomile scrap with the defenders of camomile. Shaking his head with a smile, Dreslin helps Callimpsest up, and begins to lead him back around the inn towards the entrance, where beds and beverages will be available. He looks around to see if any of the other brick investigators would like to accompany them inside.* [OOC: If you have multiple characters but are having trouble keeping them all active, this is an opportunity to give one of them a rest from roleplay, if you wish...]
