Well the first thing to do is read the Rules section (if you haven't done so already) as this is full of help on posting and things. Once you've done that, post a character description in the "Character Profiles" board. Then you need to start a thread about the arrival of your character - this needs to be in the "Path to Wolfenden" board. Well, this is the usual way...Cassandra actually Apparated in front of the school gates

Hi, and welcome the forum. I'm sorry it took a while for your membership to clear. Your thread on the Discussion Forum has triggered a small rebirth of roleplaying here - you should be proud!
As Cassandra suggests, the Rules section is intended to answer all your questions before you get started. In addition, my tips for preparing a character for roleplay here would be:
Have a look at recent posts to see which other characters are active. Think about how your character might fit in with them;
Make sure you have a character who is suited to one or more of the roleplaying locations;
Think about not just what strengths/powers your character might have, but also weaknesses/limitations. Other roleplayers won't enjoy interacting with a character who can talk/fight/magic etc. his way out of every tricky situation.
I hope that helps. If you've any specific queries, let us know, either here or via PM.

Aside from what YG & Cass have advised already the only things I can think to add are.
1) Read some previous plotlines (as well as recetn posts) there not only good fun and an enthraling read but they also tell you a bit about what kind of RP takes place here.
2) Be Polite and use comman sence when posting, it makes life so mucg eaiser.
3) Be creative but to with in resson. If you have a stryline idea then feel free to run it past the mods, we all very easy going and unless we realy feel there something inappropriat or something that won't fit into the Forum we'll rearly turn down a plot idea.
4. Most of All...........................HAVE FUN!!

I get the impression (apologies if I'm mistaken) that you've decided against roleplaying here. Considering the significant attention you drew to your desire to participate in the forum, I find this disappointing. I hope that you weren't put off by anything unwittingly said or done by the rest of us. Perhaps we'll see you again one day.
In the meantime, I see we have another new member. Welcome.

Hi people. Sorry about the disappearing act. I hadn't decided against roleplaying here. First of all I was daunted by it all and didn't know how to start. Then I had various things happen in my life swiftly followed by internet connection problems. When the dust settled this site had kinda slipped out of my mind and I've only just rediscovered it. If I can figure out how to start and if in my own mind can make things interesting then I may well participate in the near future. Apologies again for the apparent disappearing act, it wasn't my intention when I signed up to the site.

Welcome back, and thank you for letting us know the situation. If you do decide to roleplay here, we'll be glad to have you on board, and will do what we can to make it a fun and interesting experience for you. In the meantime, feel free to PM me or the other active Mods (Leytan and Midnight) with any specific queries you may have.

Just a quick one.
At the moment, I'm studying for a professional exam (which I'm taking next Friday). Assuming I pass, I shall then be able to concentrate on some other things, including this site.
My intention is to read through a whole load of threads, get a proper feel for RP and go from there. Either way, I hope to get properly started very soon.
