I gain some security from carrying a weapon, whether I use it or not. Most people round here seem to have magic at their command - we've met two wizards in the past day alone - but since I'm not gifted in that regard, I have to make do with a club as my defence.
Robin and I were just on our way into Wolfenden.

*YG hesitates.*
We...we'd probably be walking too slowly for you. We're both tired, you see. Best if you go on ahead, and we can catch up with you somewhere in town.
*YG looks swiftly back at Robin.*

Yes... yes, we're a bit tired, you see. I, for one, have just had an invigorating swim.

"Very well, I'll be off, and if you see Tom Troughtion, tell him I said 'Good Day'" said Anthony as he walked away waving to the two. [ModNote: Delgado is next seen here.]

*Young Grimwold watches and waits until Anthony Delgado is out of earshot, before turning to Robin. He wants to ask Robin how he could be both tired and invigorated; but decides such pedantry is not the way forward. So instead he comments on their new acquaintance.*
He knows Tom? Maybe you were right - maybe there is a conspiracy...

It's... why is this? Is everyone we meet going to ask us stuff, and then just wander off when they feel like it?
*Robin sighs.*
This place is weird. C'mon, let's go and get that drink.
*He continues trudging onwards as he leads YG towards Wolfenden.*

People are being a little discourteous. But at least no one's trying to fight us.
Now, what was I saying before Tom appeared... oh yes, about the amulet. I hope it won't put you in any more danger.

*Robin stiffens*.
No, I'm sure it won't.
*It's a short answer.*

[OOC: If only Pat Sharp had had an amulet instead of a mullet. How different the world would have been. Anyway...]
*YG is a little taken aback by Robin's reticence. Hoping that he hasn't gravely offended his friend, he decides to leave the subject of the amulet alone, at least for now. He scrambles around in his mind for another topic, so that the conversation doesn't evaporate, because small talk is better than no talk, as his mother used to tell him.*
What's the Forest like for wildlife? I've heard that wolves aren't as much of a problem as they used to be.

*Robin looks relieved.*
Oh... oh no, I haven't seen a wolf around for... must be a good few months. The most dangerous thing aroudn these days must be butterflies!
*He laughs, hollowly. YG doesn't.*
Seriously, though, the wildlife is pretty interesting. I swear I saw a snake the other day... now there's something I never thought I'd see...

[OOC: I'll decide whether YG laughs or not, thank you very much! ;D Not that he's big on laughter...]
Snakes? That takes me back. When I was growing up in the Dungeons, my mother used to take me to see a giant snake called Carl. I didn't believe it was real, as it did absolutely nothing; but Mother insisted that it was. People used to come and laugh at it, and throw it fruit. 'The lure of the Dreary Carl', we used to call it. I'm guessing that dungeoneers got told a different name.

I don't mind snakes, myself. How big was this Carl? I've never taken on really large ones, but I'd bet I could take 'em... now, bats. Bats scare me.

Hard to say how big he was. I'd say, about the size of a large tree. Only more lifeless. If you're good with projectiles, I'm sure you could have beaten him. I wonder if he was ticklish?
The Dungeons were a veritable menagerie of giant animals. Not sure why. The bats weren't huge, but they were odd. Not real somehow. Though surprisingly tasty.
