A Long Journey

[yasuke]

*A samurai who looks very tired and exhausted is walking up the hill and near to the school gates. A small lizard-like creature is fluttering around him chatting to him.*

Pandora: Come on Yasuke, not far now. Just a few more metres and you'll reach the school gates.

Yasuke: *Curses under his breath* Easy for you to say, you arent the one trudging up here with blistered feet. I still dont see why anyone would hide the first orb in a small village like this

Pandora: Perhaps because samurais like you always expect it to be hidden in some deep dungeon or inpregnable fortress?

Yasuke: Shut up, still it cannot be hidden in that school, it was placed long before the school was built and the excavation of the school site revealed no magical aura coming from their.

Pandora: Nice to hear you listened to what Elder Kenji told you then,Yasuke. *giggles*

*Yasuke reaches the top of the hill and surveys the region of Wolfenden*

Yasuke: what a peaceful looking place.

[Kully]

*A brown and white owl soars overhead, swoops down, apparently searching for prey, and then flies off*

[yasuke]

Yasuke: *not noticing the owl* Pandora, what was the thing Master Kenji said to us about the market?

Pandora: *sighs* goodness sake Yasuke, you've forgotten that already! Righty-o then he said "Beware your valuables in Wolfenden, many traders here are of less than 'pristene' reputation. There are also many dishonourable guilds of assassins and thieves. However a shining beacon of light exists in the town, you must first search the church."

Yasuke: Yes the church, I thought so. Come then, we have far to travel and the night is young.

Pandora: I thought you were exhausted?

Yasuke: I was but there is no time to rest yet, we must make tracks!

Pandora: Well I suppose you're right

*The two head off down the hill towards the path to Wolfenden*

[Kully]

*The owl makes a U-turn in the air and dives at the newcomers. It appears to be...not attcking them...but trying to drive them back the way they came*

[yasuke]

*Yasuke frowns as the owl grabs at Pandora*

Yasuke: What a foul bird, it seems to be trying to drive us away. *Makes a grab for the owl but misses*

Pandora: *Flying into Yasuke's napsack.* Just run quickly!

*Yasuke runs forward down the path towards Wolfenden in a vain attempt to lose the owl.*

[Kully]

*Hoots wistfully, and disappears into the darkness of the forest*

[yasuke]

*Waits until the owl has flown far enough away and tells Pandora to come out*

Pandora: *Shaking herself* What a mean bird, you should've let me fight it.

Yasuke: Fight it! You could've dived straight in then, I wasn't stopping you! Anyway lets get going, we have supplies to buy in the village and then a room to find, all the inns might close in a few hours so hurry up.

*They go into the marketplace one hour later after walking.*
