A terrible cacophony feel Wren's ears, and as he turns he makes out the shape of a lumbering creature partially hidden by smoke, yet clearly covered in terrible red stains and roaring at the top of his lungs.
Although they can be terribly unfair, snap decisions are usually made for a very good reason.
'Get those horses moving!' hissed Wren, and was very grateful when the carriage began lumbering forward, picking up pace with every passing second.

*Rhiannon's mind was of a different thought as her watery gaze came to the ogre when the sound filled her ears. She couldn't exactly decide though if it was coughing, a scream of pain or perhaps rage or perhaps even some strange mating call perhaps? She was not quite clear on the way mating worked between ogre's and did not want to find out she couldn't leave some one who could be hurt because of something that had happened that they may have caused. *
*Her gaze came back to those in the cart the two who had their eyes closed , seeming to be praying that though they had escaped the ropes that this ride wouldn't kill them, her gaze briefly came to Coriolis and then the back of the heads of Leytan and Wren before turning her gaze back to the ogre.*
*While Wren's mind jumped to leaving the ogre behind Rhiannon as ever the healer jumped to helping any she could and just as her mind jumped to helping so did she..taking a step up untilt he edge of the cart before looking back at her brother a moment.*
Get Leytan out of here, keep them all alive, and next time I see you I'm going to kill you....
*She gives a faint smile before jumping from the cart, tumbling some as her feet hit the ground falling to one knee for a moment before standing up and running towards the ogre. Moving swiftly in between the people that were now left after the chaos that had ensued. She knew she was risking trouble but she could not leave her teachings behind ., they were a part of her just as her blue eyes were. *
*Her movements kept swift and lithe while her gaze alternated between the ogre and the crowds around them, while the guards seemed to watch her when the realized where her target was as she approached the ogre they seemed satisfied in keeping a distance.while others were making haste to ready a couch to chase after the escapees.*
*Rhiannon paused just a moment as she neared the ogre giving him some personal space but close enough to look for wounds.*

*Leytan looked open mouthed as Midnight jumped on the cart. He looked forwards towards freedome and safty and then back towards danger and his freind. Then he looked upwards and sighed.*
"One day my morality will be the death of me."
*he mussed outload then turned to Wren.*
"Keep going and get to the small bridge out of town its the boundry the law can't aresst you once you've crosed half way. I'll join you in a minate someone's got to keep her safe from the towns people their libale to lynch her for cutting my ropes."
*Then Leytan lept off the cart and started sprinting back towards Midnight.*

*YG catches his breath and raises his head, opening his eyes. His vision is somewhat hazy, but he can make out the gallows. He also becomes aware of someone watching him: a woman, with the blackest hair that YG has ever seen.*
Excuse me. I'm terrib... terribly sorry. It was the smoke.
*YG gets a sense that the woman is not human. Even the sweetest, bravest human female would not take such a compassionate interest in a roaring ogre. As he ponders this, YG becomes aware of a couple of pointed shapes moving into his field of vision. It must be the Warlock militia in their distinctive hats. YG's mind wanders briefly:
I could do with a hat. Then I could doff it in greeting, and not feel rude for eschewing handshakes. But what kind of hat would suit me? And-
*YG snaps his attention back to the moment at hand. The guards seem to be making for the woman. And knowing the infernal Warlock way, they'd happily have her swinging from a gibbet by tommorow for so much as not being dressed in their favourite colours. She is risking her life to check on him, and YG decides he owes it to her to reduce that risk.*
Erm, excuse me again.
*YG clears his throat as loudly and raucously as he can, while waving his club in the air for good measure.
The guards scatter.*

*Leytan came up behind Midnight and put his hand on her shoulder.*
"What do you think your playing at?? "
*He asked her.*
"I don't know which made my hart jump more. The thought of being hung or seeing you run back into this mess."
"You know the towns people are likely to lynch you for helping me escape. and I'd hate for that to happan to you."
*Leytan leaned in and quickly kissed Midnight on the forehead.*

'Don't do anything STUPID back there!' called out Wren, slightly stunned that having escaped the noose, the first thing Leytan wanted to do was dive back into the fray he'd created.
He shook his head and snapped the reigns, heading in the direction he had been described. The horses picked up speed, and within thirty seconds they had cleared the town walls.

*As Leytan suddenly appears - he must have sprinting mightily fast from wherever he was - YG feels a surge of nerves. He never expected to end up face to face with Leytan. In another place, at another time, the term 'starstruck' might have been used.
Then Leytan makes his speech about a jumping heart, and kisses the woman - and YG feels sick. Being forced to witness a display of affection makes him feel as if he is being taunted for his isolation and loneliness, for the kind of connection he can never have outside the realm of his own hubristic dreams. Surely Leytan is not one of those ten-a-groat reprobates who can't bear to watch their woman chatting to another male for even a moment without leaping in to mark their territory? YG sees it all too often at the Crazed Heifer, and detests it. On the other hand, perhaps Leytan is deliberately ignoring him, and that too is rather unflattering.
If Leytan and this woman are indeed a couple, or simply long-standing friends, then YG's presence won't be welcome; and with the Ice Killer at her side, the lady no longer needs YG's help to ward off the guards and any vengeful Warlockers. Maybe, if she is formidable enough to be the consort of Leytan and fearless of ogres in the first place, she never did.*
*Mumbling, without making eye contact* A pleasure to meet you.
*Without another word, YG turns, gathers a lungful of clear air and prepares to withdraw into the smoke, where he hopes to disappear quickly from sight. He is burning with discomfort: there is indeed no smoke without fire.*

*Leytan hears YG and looks towards him. He's never before heard an Oger speak so politley and fluently. Most ogers tend to know only a few words and thouse are mostly words like KILL, FOOD, DRINK etc. Leytan has a sinking feeling he's misjudged this perticular ogre.*
"Hey wait up."
*He calls out threw the smoke to the departing ogre. Leytan kicks himself for his impolitness and sterotypical view of ogers, something he knows all to well can be very hurtfull even if unintentional.*

[OOC: I've slighty edited my earlier post. Sorry if it seemed rash. YG won't be rushing off just yet.]
*YG freezes as he hears Leytan's words. (Not literally, but then again, Leytan has made the air a little chilly.) However uneasy he is feeling, he knows it would be foolhardy to defy the command of a killer. He begins to turn back towards Leytan and the woman, trying to brace himself for Leytan's next remark. YG hopes that the woman will say something: if a death threat is on the way, or worse, perhaps she will exercise her compassion and speak up in his defence. Feeling as if he has stumbled into a quagmire of fear, YG has no desire to fight for his life, either physically or verbally.*

*Leytan looked at Young Grimwold for a moment or two.*
"I wanted to thank you for scareing thouse gaurds off and trying to protect my freind Midnight."
*Looks a little embarased.*
"And to appolagise for being os sterotypical in my views of ogers. and I should also thank you for makeing it unessercery for me to have to spill any more blood then need be."
*Lifts his cloke up slightly and YG can see that his crossbow was primed to fire.*
"I was about to shoot thouse gaurds when you scared them off and contery to what people say I don't relish sheading blood, unless its deserved. Such as Malstorm up there on the gallows, but the gaurds are just doing their job now matter how vile the justice system they work for may be so to take their lives would have botherd me . So thank you for that as well"

*Rhiannon opened her mouth to say something before closing it when she sees Leytan running up to them and sighs quietly before bringing her gaze back to the ogre just as she heard him turn and start to walk off into the smoke her gaze focusing on him a moment trying to see any wounds though she now up close could not pick up any scent of blood though definitely could smell tomatoes in the air in fact the mixture of tomatoes and smoke was kind of making her think of cooked meats with eggs causing her stomach to rumble.*
I'm sorry I just thought you was...
*She looks back to wards where the cart was disappearing out of sight.*
From over there you looked..and well sounded like you had been injured in some way
*Her gaze slowly coming back to the ogre suddenly feeling rather small in comparison as she shifts slightly from one foot to another having to hold her tongue from having a go at Leytan for putting himself back in danger again. She wraps her arms around her stomach lightly as the cooler temperature wraps around her that follows Leytan every where he goes.*

[OOC: Are commas outlawed in Warlock? ;D]
*YG can scarcely believe what Leytan is saying to him. Thank yous, apologies? He had expected quite the opposite.*
Y-You're welcome.
*He almost forgets that he is talking to a killer. Then Leytan mentions the spilling of blood and reveals his crossbow. YG is a little unsettled by this, but this is patently not the time for a debate about the necessity of murder, especially when Leytan is being so gracious. It seems that he, Leytan and the guards alike are all doing what they feel is right. And somehow, it makes them all dangerous.
When Leytan mentions Malstorm, YG takes a proper look at the gallows, which he can now see clearly. He eyes Malstorm's dripping corpse, a not displeasing sight; he observes Judge Thompson-Smyth dangling from a noose - the man appears to have passed out, and resembles a pig hanging in a butcher's shop; and he notes the absence of Jake and Sindy. This must be Leytan's doing.*
The other two prisoners. If I may ask: are they safe?
*In response to Midnight's remarks, YG turns and nods at her, exhibiting his customary shyness around women. Bowing his head, he notices, for the first time, the state of his clothes. This is hardly more embarrassing than his coughing fit, and he is almost tempted to laugh.
The guards are keeping their distance, believing that the ogre will take care of Leytan for them. But it won't be long before they realise their mistake, and start contemplating the glory of being the man who killed the Ice Killer.*

*Leytan smiled slightly and nodded.*
"Yes I cut Miss Sindy and Master Jake free. They were in that cart being taken to safty...master??"
*Leytan looked blank for a moment and realised he hadn't asked the oger his name*
"I'm sorry what is your name?"

*YG had been hoping to avoid sharing his name with Leytan, as he fears the consequences of having it linger in a killer's memory. However, by ignoring Leytan's inquiry, he would now be risking discourtesy at best, danger at worst.*
Grimwold. I'm Young Grimwold.
*YG looks round for the getaway cart, but it is out of sight and earshot. He does, however, notice that two of the Warlock militia are speeding off in a small chariot, no doubt to chase the fugitives. The chariot has quite a distance to make up, but with two occupants, it is the lighter vehicle... [OOC: I'll leave it to the rest of you to determine how the chariot fares.]
Meanwhile, the square is nearly empty, with most of the townsfolk having now fled; but the smoke, with an appropriate sense of irony, is still hanging.*

*Rhiannon slowly starts to feel slightly out of balance, as if the last few days were truly catching up with her, especially the last hour? Was it longer ? Was it shorter? She could not be certain on how much time had passed. Though what she could feel was that she was feeling slightly strange, as if some how she was slightly off balance, that the world had some how gone off kilter and she was left trying to find the spot to balance out the weight again.*
*Her blue eyes narrow as she scans the square she knew time was short and getting shorter with the time they stood here though while guards watched them then only have the guards were chasing the cart and so gave those ahead a better chance to escape. Though she turns to Leytan keeping her attention alternating between Young Grimwold, Leytan and the still present guards.*
We have to move and now would be as good a time as any.
*She turns her gaze more properly to Young Grimwold nodding her head slightly with a small smile.*
I would if circumstances allowed give more in depth introductions but time and the city watch seem to be against Leytan at present. Though I do thank you for your help with scaring the guards away.
*She gives the square another scan as some guards start to gather in small groups some off on their own, those in groups having whispered conversation those solitary seeming to being watching the three with a contemplating gaze. Time was definitely running out.*
Perhaps it would be best if we all traveled together rather rapidly the guards will be wanting to take the frustration out on any one and anything that looks at them wrong after this mornings chaotic hanging...especially if they can get the one they were wanting to hang...
*She mutters quietly under her breath.*
Especially seen as he can't seem to stay on a cart and out of harms damn way.
