Post by Hordriss de Confuseur on Mar 14, 2004 12:05:26 GMT
*At Brother Strange's last words, there is a rush of magical energy, a flash of lighting, and in the midst of a flare of energy Hordriss appears, bound with tarry string and gagged, with a still bleeding wound on the back of his head. Everyone in the inn will be somewhat taken aback, including, presumably Dimension Girl as the sound was loud enough to reverberate throughout.*
[OOC: I'm going to assume that the others help him a bit as I won't be able to post for a couple of days and don't want to hold anyone up!]
*Shortly afterward, Hordriss has been untied and his gag removed. His red robes, dirt-encrusted from his encarceration, have been sent for washing and he now wears his midnight blue ones with the gold stitching, His dignity is only slightly compromised by the large, herb-soaked bandage around his head, but with a glass of the best house wine in his hand he is feeling much recovered. He has already insisted on paying back Young Grimwold for his room, having recovered a small pouch of money hidden in his room. He now sits at a table with as many of the others who wish to be there.*
One can only thank you once again, and although one would not usually condone the theft of my diary, on this occasion it prevented it from being stolen like the rest of one's possesions here. Fortunately I have more at home. One is at the moment, however, too weak to teleport, that grey-cowled creature used some form of magic repressant on me which is only just starting to wear off. However, in the presence of friends this will soon be improved.
*Looks at the motley group around him and thinks what an odd place this is. Then he notices Dimension Girl.*
Is that not.... one did not think that the dimensions had come back into phase for such a thing to happen. Brother, you have seen such things before also, is she not from the land of the Dungeoneers?
[OOC: Whatever the response, Hordriss will not take action yet, time for stories? I will try to post on Tuesday!]

(OOC: I think Hordriss may have been emplaing that the group has returned down staries to there table. So he would be able to see Dimension Girl and Nesty if that's the case since they are in the same room I Think.)

[OOC: Let me try... YG went upstairs to get FK, telling the others he'd be back in a moment; FK's post suggested that YG, Brother Strange and RMR had all come upstairs; RMR's post said that he remained downstairs and met the hag; I tried to compensate for the confusion by saying that 'Young Grimwold and FrightKnight have come downstairs' and that 'everyone is together.' I don't think this has been contradicted, so... everyone is downstairs, together. Except Callimpsest, who ran upstairs.
Does that help?]

[OOC: Well, it helps me.]
*Brother Strange surveys Dimensiongirl. What he says next, he does so without caring whether she hears or not (depends whether Hordriss' appearance has fully drawn her attention, or she has gone back to chatting with Nesty.)*
Hmm... young, exuberant, wearing strange clothes, with one of those mysterious enchanted time-pieces on her wrist.
Yes, I think she may.
So... since we appear to have drawn the attention of everyone in this establishment, shall we retire upstairs to tell our stories? Or is there more business to attend to down here?

Perhaps the seclusion of an upstairs chamber may be more suitable; but Ringmasterrob has stepped outside. Maybe we should wait for him...

*walks up to the table shyly* [ModNote: From this concurrent thread.] "Er, could you help me with something, please? Mr Nesty sold this horn to me and I don't know whether it's a 'horn of calling' like he said, or a goblin horn. The thing is, both types look identical from...*starts to whisper*...the quests I've seen and they confuse dungeoneers too. *excitedly* I noticed one of you looking over to my table earlier on so you may as well know - yes, I'm from the same world that dungeoneers come from, but I'm not a dungeoneer. I'm too old for a start - I'm 23 - and I never applied to be on a quest...anyway, could you help me? I don't know whether to trust that Nesty guy anyway..."

*jumps when she hears Tom speaking but turns round to speak to him*
"Hmm...well, he did kind of remind me of Julius Scaramonger a bit...particularly when Lord Fear tried to get him to join the opposition...is Julius still around, btw?" *getting a bit worried* "I hope Fear doesn't know about me, or I'll be kidnap fodder..."

Hello there, Mr. Troughton. I hope you've recovered from our escapades at the Forest Forge. If you feel a drink would help, feel free to join us - it looks like Ringmasterrob won't be returning for a bit. We're hoping to head upstairs shortly for some stories and discussion.
*YG turns to DimensionGirl.*
I would second that warning about the horn. Nesty has not been trading long in the town, but in one of his first deals, he managed to sell FrightKnight here a sword that fell apart almost immediately. It was rather... infuriating.

"Yes I feel that Rob's presence here would be unlikely, I just ran into him outside he is at the moment preocuppied with matters regarding to the bording school."
"Thank you Master Young Grimwold I am fully recoverd and feeling fine. But I would like a drink. Oh and pleses just Tom. I hate formalities, Unlike some at this table."
*Tom chides Hordriss Good naturadly.*

*whispering so only Tom, FK, Hordriss, Brother Strange and YG hear*
"It's Julia, although I don't want everyone knowing it, only those I trust. I told that Nesty chap that my name was Julie because I wasn't sure if I could trust him...now I know I can't".
*offers handshake*
"I don't suppose any of you would know if there's any decent jobs going round? I might be here a while in this land - not that I'm complaining, I'm a fan of this world - and I'll need to earn a living of some sort. Nesty offered me a job on his stall but now I know not to trust him I'd like to check out other options - on the light side, of course!"
"Oh...one thing I'm curious about is...I'm from the same place as dungeoneers, yet I don't need a helmet...why is that? I don't need the eye shield either to see things - this place is as real as my world!"
*says all this in a low voice so the entire inn doesn't hear, after all, there might be opposition spies somewhere*
