"I shall let you know how I fare in time. Thank you for you good tidings." [*He is almost out of the door when he stops and turns slightly, as if he had almost forgotten something. He speaks quietly over his shoulder, his face hidden once more by his hood.*] "We are all tested in the course of our lives' journeys, fair lady. Every one of us has lessons still to learn. And although many of mine have been and gone, there will always be more. For my part, I wish you the same good luck in the tests you will no doubt face along the way, too." [*Without waiting for a response, he steps back out into the sunlight, past the dogged yells of the innkeeper, and disappears into the distance towards the marketplace. Slevela and Leytan are left alone in The Crazed Heiffer, the delicate strains of the pipe music echoing around the room.*] [*Continued in The Marketplace: Intelligence.*]

*Leytan watches Skiprazor Depart. Then downs his ale, gets up, puts 2 gold coins on the table, pulls his own hood back up over his head and walks towards the door. He stops and turns to Slevela and smiles.*
"Thank you for the services provided whence. They were certainly exellent."
*The smile dissapers and a dangerous glint appers in his eyes.*
<In a low tone so only see hears.>
"However if you ever earvesdrop on another of my conversations. I will cut your ear's off. Understand."

*Slevela nods and grits her teeth.*
SLEVELA: Have a... good day, Mr. Leytan. Do come again.
*She is sorely tempted to give him the finger as he passes through the doorway; but decides that he could well have eyes in the back of his head, and so she doesn't risk it. Instead, she goes over to rant to Owen, and pass on more of what she's overheard.*
*Owen is not as interested as one might expect; he is still trying to attract customers. He thinks he sees someone, maybe even a couple of people, heading in the direction of the tavern...*

*Leytan tursn and looks at Slevela as she taks to Owne he cathses her eye and smiles his sinsiter smile at her then turns and walks out. She is sure the tempreture rose again as soon as Leytan had crossed the thresh hold. Slevela dosen't take her eyes of the departing figure but in the blink of an eye he has vanished as if into thin air.* [ModNote: Continued in Making Preparations in the marketplace.]

*Various unnamed villagers drift in and out of the tavern, spending small amounts. The piper is playing a tune, both lilting and passionate, called 'Better Than A Dream'. Owen remains at the door, forcing a smile and trying to encourage people to drop in.*
OWEN: Cheapest drinks in Wolfenden! Honest prices, honest taste!
