*Esmeralda smiled*
"It's just nice to finally have a bed again that I fit in and is comfortable"
*she sighed*
"But we really need to get down to brass tacks and start trying to figure out where this map fragment is and how we're going to track it down...Any suggestions?"

"Well"
*Esmeralda said sitting up on the bed*
"We know that there is a big treasure and its either hidden or buried somewhere in the realm. The map showing where said treasure has been separated into five pieces and hidden in separate areas of the realm."
"We have a riddle or poem that is meant to tell us where these pieces are hidden so far we have only deciphered the first part of said poem and know that one part of the map is hidden somewhere in town..."

*Es smiled knowingly*
"And you want a chance to try out that new lock-pick spell we bought back in Wolfsglade Market."
*She teased*
"I'm telling you Theo you shouldn't have bought that spell it was from Honesty Bartram's stall for goodness sakes daft thing will probably not work at best at worst it could backfire on you."

*Esmeralda laughed*
"You'er so predictable Theo"
*she said*
"Well if that's the route we're going to go....Maybe we should wait till it gets dark before we start....'visiting' the locals. After all I've heard the local law people around here are not overly keen on people in our errrrmmmm....'profession' and I don't know about you but I'm not to keen to make a return visit to the 'accomadation' I just got out of and this time I'm fairly certain once that door slams shut on me....there never gonner open it again."

*The two friends sleep deeply and soundly for the first time in a long time in a comfy warm room*
(OOC: Es & Theo are going inactive for a little while now.
For 2 reasons
1. Me and Roz (Theo) need to re-jig part of the storyline plan
&
2. We're bringing in a secondary character and plotline and we'd like to get that started.
So until there plotline issues are resolved Es & Theo are in temporary Temporal disruption. But if anyone wants to chat with them or such like they will be here at The Gateway Inn.)

Post by Callimpsest on Jan 10, 2015 16:49:53 GMT
[OOC: Callimpsest was last seen in A Silent New Guest. This post takes place in multiple locations but I feel it's tidier not to start a new thread.] *Callimpsest is worried by the rumours he has heard: that Treguard has returned to Knightmare Castle. Lights have been sighted in the windows and there are even reports of a messenger seen riding towards the castle. Such rumours resurface every so often and may be wishful, but could they be true this time? If Lord Dunshelm were to discover Callimpsest's plans to use the Tower of Time to alter the past, he would surely not permit it. Callimpsest must act immediately or risk losing the opportunity forever. He hoped to grow his hair and cultivate a beard to match the Knightmare Boarding School cook he believes he is to become, and to increase his girth, but he will have to settle for hairpieces and padding. Uncertain he can maintain the cook's gruff voice without time to practise, he packs a voice-shifting potion said to have been brewed by the witch Mildread (and to contain her own phlegm, which may be why the apothecary had so much for sale). As for Callimpsest's culinary skills, they are much improved but he has not had all the experience he wanted. He has to trust, as he has done all along, that there is enough predestination entwined in his venture, his quest, for it to work, for his alter ego to be accepted into the school without suspicion. And yet the one voice that no potion can change is the voice inside the once and future librarian insisting that a task this magnitudinous cannot succeed without help. Didn't every dungeoneer have three guides? Didn't Treguard himself concede that he needed a helper at his side? But who can Callimpsest trust, and how can he possibly persuade him or her to be so foolhardy at such short notice? On his quiet way to the church, Callimpsest takes a detour to the Gateway Inn. The landlord has met Callimpsest before but does not seem to recognise him through his disguise. He hands the landlord a sealed scroll for one of the guests and leaves. Then, from one gateway to another, he is in the Tower of Time, focussing his mind before the great blue aperture. For several moments, he hesitates, his foot poised in mid-air. Then like a tide, or the brush of a reassuring hand, the blue sweeps his trepidation away and he is ready. He steps forward, walks through - and goes back. Were Callimpsest feeling pithy and heroic, and appropriate utterance might have been: "Time to go old school..." The scroll at the Gateway Inn is marked for the private attention of one Theodora Snitch: rumours of her background and her arrival in Wolfenden had reached Callimpsest too. Written in a magic-infused ink that will fade after being read once, the scroll explains Callimpsest's mission (with apologies that there is no time to do so face to face) and gives instructions for Theodora to use the Tower of Time to join him if she wishes to. It promises reward if the quest is a success and asks that Theodora not tell a soul about it, whatever she decides. But unless she does decide to follow him back, Callimpsest will have to doctor the past without a companion.* [OOC: Continued at dinnertime long ago.]
