*Autumn skips along the path towards Wolfendon, breathing in the fresh air.*
~lalalalala!
*She stops when she sees the town in the distance.*
My my! What a lovely place! I wonder if there's a fresh challenge here?
*Have you ever heard adventurers say, 'I don't go looking for trouble, trouble comes looking for me'? Well this doesn't apply to Autumn. She always likes to find baddies and punch their courage out of them.
But of course, all children can get tired easily. Before she continues, Autumn decides to sit on a nearby rock and rest for a bit.*

*Dawn is just breaking. In this low light, there is little to be seen of Wolfenden from a distance, save for the outlines of the buildings and a few plumes of smoke climbing skywards, presumably from the town's early risers.
From somewhere on the path behind Autumn, there comes the sound of screaming. It is getting closer.*

*As soon as she hears the screaming, Autumn quickly gets into her fighting position.*
I guess there is a challenge here then. COME OUT, COME OUT, WHOEVER YOU ARE!

*There is no response. Either the screamer is still too far off, or he hasn't heard Autumn. 'He' because the voice sounds male. It also sounds terrified. It continues to draw closer.*

Well if it's not going to come out, I'm just going to have to find it.
*Autumn quickly runs towards the source of the screaming, not thinking for a moment that she could be in danger.*

*As the distance between Autumn and the screamer shortens, he starts to come into view. Still some way off, he too is running quickly, and the shuddering streak of light that moves with him suggests that he is carrying a torch.*

*Autumn stops.*
What the...?
[OOC: I know that post looks a bit boring. I can't think of anything to put.]

*The man gets closer. Tall, middle-aged, he is dressed in peasant clothing. He is flame-haired with a bushy fiery beard. That is to say, his hair and beard are on fire. This, it would seem, is why he is screaming. In his panic, he may not have seen Autumn on the path ahead, and could run right into her.*

T-this isn't a villain! This is a man in distress. The Hero of Justice (i.e. me) must rescue him!
*Autumn tries to get his attention without getting too close to him.*
Sir! Don't run like that! You're making the flames spread more easily. Just roll on the ground!
Geez, I hope that works.

*Despite his noisy panic, the peasant registers the stranger's advice, drops to the ground and starts rolling along the grass next to path. Although the flames begin to die down, the man rolls over a patch of stinging nettles and screams again, before halting his progress by banging his head on the rock on which Autumn was resting moments earlier. Dazed, confused and motionless, his hair is still burning.*

Looks like I've got no choice. I'll get some more later.
*From her bag that is slung over her shoulder [OOC: Very similar to a knapsack] she takes out a large flask of water, walks over to the man and pours it all over him.*
If that doesn't work, then I'll have to try something else. A hero never skedaddles when someone is in need!

*The water puts out the last of the fire and revives the peasant. He blinks and coughs, eventually noticing Autumn again.*
Peasant: Thank you, miss.
*He coughs again.*

It was no problem.
*Autumn gives a small curtsey.*
It is a hero's duty to help those in trouble. Is your head alright by the way? It looks like you hit it quite hard.

Peasant: 'Twas the rock that hit it quite hard! But not hard enough to knock it off.
*He puts a hand to his head to rub it. When he takes his hand away, there is blood on his fingers. Too dazed to scream again, he yelps instead.*

Oh dear! Wait...hold on a second.
*Autumn rummages in her bag and pulls out a few large leaves.*
These are special healing herbs. They'll close the wound up for you.
*Autumn approaches the peasant and puts the leaves on his head where the bleeding is.*
You're supposed to stick them on the wound with water, but since I haven't got any you'll have to hold them in place yourself.
*She waits a little while before speaking again.*
Can I ask; what happened? I see you have a torch on you but how in Valory's name did you manage to set yourself on fire?
