Well maybe I could move some of the rocks with my sword. Lets just hope it doesn't break.
*Shadow brushes some of the smaller rocks away and then wedges her sword into the rest of them. Some of the rocks manage to budge slightly.*
[OOC: This sword better not break. Shadow spent a lot of money for it.]

[OOC: Don't worry, this isn't rock paper scissors. ] *A few of the dislodged rocks disappear down the shaft, some crumbling into smaller pieces and others remaining whole. There is now a gap that allows Shadow and Clarity to look further down the well, but only darkness greets their eyes. With a some perseverance, the rest of the blockage should give way...*

Hmm...I think I can move more of these.
*Shadow wedges her sword further in and, to her luck, more rocks give way. She looks down again.*

*The last of the rocks tumbles out of sight. A minute passes; then another; there is no sound of the rocks hitting the bottom of the well. This would seem to indicate that it is very deep indeed.
Nevertheless, something important has happened. Several years ago, a cavern elf told a dungeoneer on a dragon's back that the Opposition had "stuffed up" all the wellways. At least one is now unstuffed. Where there's a well, there's a way.*

Well...there doesn't appear to be anything down there. Can you see anything Clarity?

Clarity: *Squinting* No... just the dark. *She looks at Percy's leash, which she's had with her since he slipped it, outside the butcher's.* If we had a lantern or somesuch, we could dangle it down there to see better.

Oh. Well I have a couple of candles, but I'm not sure if they'll help.

Clarity: If you light them first they might.

Yeah I can do that easily, but I'll need something long to lower it down.
*Shadow suddenly catches sight of Percy's leash.*
I think the leash might work. What do you think?

Clarity: Yes, I knew you'd agree! *She hands Shadow the leash.*

*Shadow takes a candle out.*
Right then. Lets light it!
*As if it was a normal everyday action, Shadow blows on the candle and it automatically lights up. She then goes about tying the leash on it.*

*Clarity's jaw drops.*
Clarity: Dragonsbreath!
*She suddenly feels pleased with herself: it's not often she can use a swear word like that without an adult scolding her. She starts to laugh.*
Clarity: That's a good trick, using a self-lighting candle like that!

Self-lighting? This is a normal candle. Don't tell me you don't know how to light one.

Clarity: Oh, you must have had a drink of Fireball Brandy when I wasn't looking, and kept some in your mouth! You should use that trick at your next birthday party.

Umm...I've never heard of that. Isn't this just the usual way to light candles?
