*Ensuring she keeps the link open to Leytan, Lady Mercury rose slowly to her feet, keeping her gaze on the woman in front of her. Her fury was evident in both her thoughts to Leytan, and the anger that flared in her eyes as she watched them carry Midnight back to the cold room, however, none of this wasevident in the icy tone of her voice*
"Be grateful that the girl needs your magics to survive this night, otherwise, this little game of cat & mouse would have had a very different ending!"
*With that, she strode after the guards, hoping Coriolis had heard and would follow his sister, rather than confronting the guards*
"The moment we are free from here, I am going to take great pleasure in teaching your kin some etiquette and manners!" She thought furiously to Leytan as she headed back.

*A split second later, a Tiger shaped void in the falling snow flew out of the ether to smash headlong into the Mistress of the guard. Sending both Feline and Frauline skittering across the compacted snow. Not stopping to check on her condition, Coriolis whirled around and made for the preparing guards. This game had just got personal and He was playing for keeps... * *He broke fade and returned to Human form. The long quarterstaff appearing in his hand seemingly from nowhere and everywhere at once. The first guard made a lunge for his chest only for the Watcher to drop to the floor, stick a boot in his groin and jam the tip of the staff into his forehead as the hapless guard curled up. Close behind, the second guard jabbed at the floor only to hit thin air as the Tiger pounced him from the side. Jaws clamping tightly to his neck and momentum propelling them into a 3rd and 4th. Scattering them like tenpins.* *A 5th tried to be clever and attack the Tiger from behind only for the heavy end of a Human powered Quarterstaff to cry noon on his forehead. The slumping wall of meat used as cover to hesitate a 6th spear and sword. They receive their answer in the form 2 dinner plates masquerading as paws stunning ears and clawing face.* *On and on the dance continued. Coriolis movements a mix of fluidity, brutality, instinct and unrestricted rage. A flickering combination of faded and unfaded, Tiger and Man. As if the Princesses guards were fighting 2 distinct enemies in 5 different places at once.*

*Lady Mercury paused as the sounds of combat started behind, then sighed deeply before speaking to Leytan through their link*
"AS if this couldn't get any worse, Coriolis has decided that now would be a good time to whittle down the guards! I think your kin has a lot answer for!" As she finished the last sentence to him, she turned around and saw guards being scattered left and right by Coriolis' attack.
"Damn it!" she muttered angrily to herself, "Why can nothing ever go right for this group?!"
*As she spoke, she noticed several guards approaching from the sides with bows cocked*
"'Ware arrows!" she called to Coriolis, then murmured something under her breath and raised a hand. As she finished the incantation, a tendril of light shot out towards one of the archers, wrapping round him quickly, then surging forwards to tie him to a nearby tree.
Using her magic more as a shield to defend herself against the guards, she called out to Coriolis, "What are you doing?!"

Trying to get the hells out of here but y'too damned slow!!! *Coriolis flattened his human form to the floor before springing up at yet another guard as the Tiger. Heeding Lady Mercuys warning and being very careful to keep Winterian guards between himself and the approaching archers. As fast as the Watcher was, an arrow in the neck could bring an end to this adventure very quickly...* *They had made it, for the Gods sake! He had got back outside the walls and now, once again, had to risk his and Rhiannon's hides because a slow footed whelp had missed her mark. If they got out of this, He was going to have more than a stern word or two about tradecraft in an enclosed enviroment.* *All true thoughts of subtltey thrown to the winds. A Human male in a grey cloaked foresters garb sprinted back toward the open door of the lodge. The distinctive glint of a dirk blade protruding from the bottom of his fist. Lady M was effectively on her own. Coriolis had once sworn an oath not to kill unless he or his kin were threatened. That line had been crossed by the little songbird Princess and her lackeys.* *It was time to send a few packages to the gods and let them deal with the contents...*

[ModNote: I'm sorry this thread has stalled. I've so far contacted two of the absentees involved in order to bring them back if possible and to get an idea of their future availability. One appears to be ignoring me; the other I hope to hear from again in a few weeks when less busy with other things.
For me, staying with Surrounds is both a matter of conscience and something I enjoy. If I ever abandon an active character without explanation and thereby prevent others from participating, my conscience has failed me and I should be ashamed. Sadly I cannot force, guilt-trip or charm an absent member into returning or even just keeping us posted, even though part of me wishes I could do all three.]

(OOC: Apologies, back now *Lady Mercury whirled round at the sound of battle, and swore under her breath* "Gods, why can't anything be simple?!" *The guards who were closest to her moved inwards, planning on stopping her from assisting Coriolis, whilst the others moved towards where their companions were trying to deal with a fast moving feline. * *Lady Mercury hesitated momentarily, one of the guards lunged forward, catching her unawares. Turning at the last moment, the spear the guard was wielding caught her side, leaving a bloody gash down it. Letting out a gasp of pain, Lady Mercury stumbled backwards, then glared at the guard.* "That was a mistake" she said through gritted teeth, then made a swift motion with her hands. As they extended outwards, there was a brief flash of light, and a bolt of energy hit the guard in the shoulder, causing him to stagger backwards.*

(OOC: Apollagies for long absance back (ish) now. though due to other comitments posts will be irattic but I will try to keep to something approching regularity)
*Leytan could hear all this going on in his head due to his and Lady M's mental link but with no visual to put it in to any form of context was unsure and un-nearved as to what he was hearing*
"Isabel just what the heck is happaning?"
*He asked*

*Lady Mercury ducked under an arrow, then threw a dagger at another guard, pinning his arm to the tree next to him as Leytan's comments came through*
"Currently, I'm trying to stop Coriolis from being killed, without killing any of the attackers, but your kin's guards seem to want to prevent that. If you have any power here, call them off, or more blood is going to be spilled, and I'll be damned if any more of it's mine!"
*Another guard lunged forward as she sent this through. Dancing lightly to the left, she slipped behind him and aimed a kick at his knee. As her foot connected, the guard let out a shriek of pain and stumbled forward*
"You know, this misunderstanding could have been avoided had someone bothered to tell us that Midnight's life could be lost if we left the cold room."
*As she finished speaking, she sent another bolt of light towards a guard she spotted creeping up on Coriolis, tying the guard's feet together, and causing him to fall over just behind him*

*Although his now Human senses were dull compared to the Tiger, Coriolis heard the thump but didn't stop to look back. Yet another guard was approaching quickly from the direction of the Kitchens as He himself re-entered the corridor.* *With the Watcher faded and to one side, the poor sap never saw the danger until it was too late. The Dirk slicing across the back of his knees and a hand out of the ether grabbing his forhead and pulling backwards. A moment later, the Kitchen door opened as Coriolis dragged the guard and dumped his groaning carcass on to the table.* [Growling at the cooks and staff] Stay here... Stay quiet... *The door slammed shut and the barricade dropped into place.* *A little way further on sat the shrieking maids as they slowly descended back into the range of human hearing. Then his own descent back into the bowels of this so called "lodge" that actually seemed more a castle.* *He could hear the echoing bolt of the coldroom door being locked back into place. The guards had better hope they were gone by the time he got there...*

*Ensuring she keeps the link open to Leytan, Lady Mercury rose slowly to her feet, keeping her gaze on the woman in front of her. Her fury was evident in both her thoughts to Leytan, and the anger that flared in her eyes as she watched them carry Midnight back to the cold room, however, none of this was evident in the icy tone of her voice* "Be grateful that the girl needs your magics to survive this night, otherwise, this little game of cat & mouse would have had a very different ending!" *With that, she strode after the guards, hoping Coriolis had heard and would follow his sister, rather than confronting the guards* "The moment we are free from here, I am going to take great pleasure in teaching your kin some etiquette and manners!" She thought furiously to Leytan as she headed back.
The woman tilted her head to the side slightly. A curious smile crossed her lips beneath the hood before she shook her head faintly. 'You are are quite mistaken Sorceress. It is not our magics she needs to survive, but the lack of all magic altogether. Had you all remained where you were none of this would of happened. None of you were being harmed you were simply being held and if this is how you decide to act then it was with good reason you were placed within that room.'
The female seemed to fade into snow flurries as the feline returned and decided against chasing after the fallen female as planned but upon assaulting those that surrounded but did not harm the female.
It was then all appeared to go wrong. Though they had been warned not to harm the strangers they were not going to simply withstand a attack either.
Men began to fall rapidly as if removed from sight as they were pulled into the shadows or rendered unconscious. As one guard moved to ready himself for his turn, the tip of his weapon accidentally caught the female. The scent of blood touched the air as drops of blood dripped onto the treadled snow. Grunts and groans filled the air before it seemed to be briefly silent except for whispered words a flash of light and then darkness the guard would remember little in the following days of his night out into the snow. The female had already returned to the house after she had managed to drag herself through the snow, her cloak soaked with the melting water and her clothes slightly shredded where feline claws had raked through the material. Her state more than her groans of @get back!@ had the females moving in haste in case they met the same fate. The guard urging the females further back into the house as seconds later loud thumps came from the kitchen. A faint whimper and what sounded to be a growl
Midnight had already been dragged into the cold room, a trail of melting snow and water, muddy marks were left where her legs had dragged along the ground. They placed her body gently upon the bed and left the room, yet her health did not improve. Her breathing became raspy, faint whispers of her normal self, while her skin paled and her heart rate slowed down. A shard of ice wriggled at her wrist blood stained and faintly transparent it sliced her skin open along the blue scar that was impossible to see now.((OOC: Sorry for my absense been a hectic while and had health issues in real life and my accounts had been some how disabled for some reason. My muse had also suffered a huge dry spell unfortunatly.))

Midnight could only make out the most faint of details. She was moving while she remained utterly still. She could hear voices around her but they were distant breezes of wind rather than clear words. She could feel something or someone gripping under her arms but she could not fight them off. In fact she had no energy but for once to simply be pulled along. The softness of the snow became hard ground and soft swishing became grating before thumping as she was dragged down staris. The being that held her prevented her head from striking the floor but her feet went uncared for and they struck each step as she was pulled deeper into the shows. The cold wind faded and snow appeared to stop falling, yet streams of melting snow dripped along her skin and soaked her hair.
Her chest felt tight and raindow coloured flashes danced before her eyes. while her lungs could never seem to fill with enough air. She knew this was not the way she had planned to go. Infact it was likely the utter opposite but she could feel herself being pulled some where comfortable. some where dark and comforting. She took in a wheezy whistle of a breath as her eyes fluttered closed. Her faint movements were stilling as the two magics continued to surge through her. Along the palms of her hands a pale orange hue began to appear though it was faint. The pendent upon her neck started to flash furiously, the colour darkening even as the frequency of the flashes continued to incease. Midnight felt a sudden comfot come over her.

*The final sprint back to the cold room door. Heavy footsteps and a distinctive shadow suddenly fall silent and melt into the woodwork. The owner of both had already been foolishly misstepped once. This would not happen again.*
*Every sense, instinct and the voice in his mind screaming at him to move on and find his step-sister. The flip-sided cold logic of rage holding him back. Making him wait for his moment of revenge before the stone walls would be painted with warm blood.*
*The corridor was too quiet. The near silence after the noise and chaos of the last few minutes a disorienting experience. Something was waiting for him down there. Something that was about to get a very nasty fright of its own.*
*The Dirk blade drawn and held parallel to his arm. A ghost made his way back to where the dance had began with intent to kill...*

[ModNote: Modified, as per previous posts, to make clear that this post depicts NPCs (and indeed another main character) but not Daenary's Shar herself. I'd prefer not to meddle but in a plot with so many characters, I would like confusion to be avoided.]
*Midnight was lifted up onto the bed she had been placed upon before. The two guards did not bother to place her truly comfortably and they did not dare remove the soaking clothing. Instead they simply left the room once more. Leaving the room and walking back up stairs.
Leytan had long gone from the room and corridor ,Aaron was sure but Aaron had remained. His older frame remained by the door way waiting for the people to return or be returned. Far too much time had passed before he heard the first being dragged back and in his gut he knew who was the one the guards were returning. He watched them drag her past with a look of concern on his face but he had to wait a few more minutes, wait for the others.
He hoped Leytan had gone after the wilder female and calmed her down, made her understand what was happening. Yet as time passed and none returned, the female on the bed only grew paler. It was when her breathing became barely able to sustain her any longer that Aaron reached for the door handle and closed the door. He did not feel any shift happening as those with the magical ability would but he did hear already a slight change in the females breathing. It was slightly longer, slightly deeper. The stopping of magic began to work once more.
The single guard that now remained outside the room, watching the corridor closely though from the screams and night rumors, he would not see the blade that could kill him.
Aaron gathered the blankets and sheets that were in the room and wrapped them around the female even though they grew wet and cold. His warm hands he placed upon her forehead and her neck, monitoring her feeble heart rate. His gaze drifted to the flashing pendent that gave him a sense of warning. He rapidly understood that somehow the pendent and the female were linked in a way beyond the trickery's of magic he had seen at circus's and fairs. As the flashing began to calm as her breathing steadied further. In his silent moments he knew the two were part of each other that none but the most naive or ruthless would remove.*

*Swearing under her breath as the figure melted away, Lady Mercury glanced round as the guards vanished around her. Whilst thinking this was a trick, she took a moment to place a quick healing spell on herself, then raced towards the kitchen. Reaching the door, she let out a soft moan as she realised it was barricaded from the other side. Pausing for a second to compose herself, and ignoring the pain in her side, she murmured an incantation.8
*For a moment, nothing seemed to happen, then Lady Mercury began to shimmer, and her body seemed to appear then disappear. Taking a deep breath, she strode forward through the door*
*Appearing on the other side, the shimmer left Lady Mercury, and she leant against the door, breathing heavily with the exertion from using such a spell. Pulling herself upright, she headed towards the stairs leading towards the cold room, her footsteps unsteady as she walked*
