[OOC: For those of you who have actually read the Dragonlance series, the following event takes place in the first book (Dragons of Autumn Twilight). The exact scene is where the heroes are captured and put into a slave caravan, meet Theros Ironfeld (the one armed dwarf who makes the new Dragonlances), and are rescued by an elven ambush. Now, imagine in that scene there were five more draconians . . . one of each species . . . ]
"Why in the name of the Abyss are we on guard duty?! We should be on the front lines, assaulting Palanthas and ruling the world in the name of The Queen . . . not guarding a caravan of slaves doomed to die either from angering a certain dragon or being overworked!!." Flaccus Hellfire said aloud, as he kicked up some dirt. "Calm yourself, brother, I am sure the others feel the same way . . . but you should be happy, for you would surely have fallen before the battle even began!" Addis Hellfire retorted. Flaccus turned to Addis, and drew his Swordbreaker from its sheath. "Do you want to take any of that back, before your head gets severed?" "Why would I? I do not fear one as lowly as yourself." Bodakis Hellfire, the youngest of this group, and who had been walking a few paces behind the two, gave a hissing laugh. He then did something that was pure suicide . . . he walked between them. "Break it up, you two. I don't want to be blown to bits by Addis' death throe, or have to witness a certain Sivak being turned inside out." He imitated Addis' voice, perfectly. " 'Tis a beautiful day, let us not ruin it by fighting ourselves." Flaccus sheathed the blade, and grumbled something about pain in the arse brothers. Addis looked at Bodakis. "Very funny." Bodakis gave a feral grinn, his yellowed fangs showing.
After about an hour of marching, the caravan eventually came to a halt. Apparently, one of the wheels had splintered, and repairs would take some time. "Great . . . I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Flac-" Bodakis' words were cut short when one of the Kapak scouts came rushing back, with an arrow in his shoulder. "ELVES, ELVEN WAR PARTY IN THE TREES!!!" About a second after the last word was cried, the Kapak became a draconian pin-cushion, as what seemed like thousands of elven arrows rained down upon the whole caravan. About half of the group's ranks were slain by the arrows. To make matters worse, elves were rushing from the trees, holding scimitars, longswords, and other weapons. Along with them, few mages, both of the White and Red robes, walked down towards the remaining forces. "Stand behind me, hurry!" Addis cried, as he started casting a spell. Flaccus, Gaskin (the Bozak), and Imperialis (the Baaz) ran behind Addis as his spell finished. Violent winds swirled around the Aurak, and all the arrows that flew near him were nocked off course. Bodakis was on his way towards Addis, when he was forced to block an attack by a elven swordsman. "Hey, uh, a little help here?" Bodakis callled out to his gathered brothers. Flaccus turned and began to run towards Bodakis, when he saw a white robed figure walk behind the Kapak. "Brother, behind you!" Bodakis looked over his shoulder, and his eyes widened in terror. A White Robed Mage had appeared out of nowhere, and grasped his arm. The words to an ancient incantation rang through Bodakis' ears, as the world seemed to grow a shade of grey . . . then faded to black.
The world seemed to refocus, and when it did, the whole landscape had changed. His breathing quick and ragged, Bodakis tightened his grip on his scimitars and attempted to push . . . and fell forward with a surprised yelp as there was no force for him to push against. He caught himself before he fell, and noticed that there were no elves to be seen . . . or slave caravan . . . or mages . . . or his brothers. "What in the name of the Abyss?" Bodakis spoke aloud, his throat suddenly feeling raw.
