*The brick moves very slightly as Morwena settles upon it, but is far from shaky. Assuming she didn't land on the brick too gently, she may also have an effect similar to what happened when Drago Lestrade tapped the brick with his sword: It makes an echoing sound, as if it is metallic, hollow, and larger than a brick could possibly be.*

*Robin blinks.*
That... is.. interesting.
*There is clear disappointment in his voice, however...*
May I suggest a more aggressive way of touching the brick?
*His left hand twitches reflexively as he says this.*

*Red observes Morwena landing on the brick, still flying near it himself*
"Please be careful, that brick puts me very much on edge, and the fact there's something written on it makes it a bit worse. I may be overreacting a bit, but...well something about it just isn't right"

*Looks at PhoniexFlame and smiles.*
"What can appear innocent can in fact be responcibale for a 100 evil acts."
"Just because it appers harmless and has so far not done anything untoward......that we know off that is, dose not mean that this floating brick is not of some dark nature or has some dark purpose in being here."
*Looks at Malark who is still blowing white bubbles at the brick and then up at Red circling the brick.*
"And besides neither Malark or Red are that keen on it either and in fact both look to be rather on edge about it...and i know from personal experience the insitintc of animals is often right."

Believe me, I am as well-versed in caution and timidness as the next man. But if we abandon this investigation after mere minutes of peremptory observation, then what are we achieving?
*To Robin* Do tell us what you have in mind.

*Robin nocks an arrow into his crossbow. Not a trick arrow - just a run-of-the-mill wood-and-metal shaft.*
I suggest, Cassimplet, that... well...
*He tries, and fails, to be loquacious about this...*
...I shoot it.

Well, Ribbon, providing you're confident you won't hit the local phoenix in her current roost, I've no objections. *Looks around* Though on the evidence of recent remarks, some of our colleagues might.

*Robin points the bow at the brick.*
I'll wait until our flying companions are out of the way first. And hope this works.

*Phoenixflame looked alarmed as Robin cocked his bow towards the brick*
"Mor, Red, I suggest coming down here, I don't want either of you getting accidentally hit with an arrow!"
*Morwena looked down at the group, then flew down to the group*

*Red flies down after Morwena, and lands heavily on Meliss' shoulder, causing her to wince a bit*
"Ouch! Couldn't you have taken a bit more care when you landed, your claws dug extremely hard into my flesh and you certainly aren't getting any lighter! You know, soon you won't be able to sit there at all..."
Red: "Really sorry, Meliss...I was just anxious to get down here...don't want to get pierced by one of Robin's arrows!"
*He jumps off Meliss' shoulder and lands lightly at her feet, almost like a cat. Both of them watch and wait*

Okay, here goes.
A standard arrow. Maybe if this has no effect... well, let's see.
*He pulls the trigger.*
Schwang!

*The arrow strikes the brick with a loud metallic clang. The brick wobbles, and its surface momentarily shimmers, but it appears totally undamaged by the arrow. By contrast, the arrow has been bent by the impact into an S shape - and is moving in a slow orbit around the brick.*

*Meliss winces at the noise that the brick gives off when Robin's arrow hits it, blinks, then says:*
"Well, on the account of what just happened, one thinks that this brick has definately had some kind of magic put upon it. As the arrow is bent, there could be a forcefield around the brick...with even more magic stored in the actual brick itself. Caution would indeed be the watchword now"

*Looks at the now bent arrow cicrerling the still suspended brick.*
"How Very intresting."
*he says, he bends down and picks up a small pebble from the ground and throws it at the brick. Again the pebble meerly bounces of the brick producing a metalic clang, however the pebble falls back down to earth seemingly unaffected as the arrow was.*
"Strange mabye it only affects metal hence why the arrow is now also suspended."
*He gose to pick up the pebble to examin it closer.*
"I seem to remember a fellow Atlantian conducting experiments to see if he could get the metal of arrow heads to home in on targets in such a .....YEEEEEOWWWW!!!!
*As he was talking Zeytan had reached down and picked up the pebble..which he now quickly dropped again.*
"That pebble is red hot!!!"
*Zeytan looked at the parlm of his hand he's picked the pebble up with there was now an ugly looking red mark were it had burnt him.*

*To Meliss* Watchwords, it seems, can be all too quickly forgotten.
*Callimpsest frowns.*
How bizarre. If the brick - which I'll continue to call it until we can confirm a better term - if the brick has enough thermal energy to red-heat a pebble over just a moment of contact - *he turns to Morwena* - then wouldn't you, even as a firebird, have been seared by your contact with the surface?
*Taking out a cloth and wrapping it around his hand, Callimpsest bends down and gingerly touches the pebble. Feeling no heat from it, he is able to pick it up in his bare hand.
To Zeytan* Perhaps there is an allergic sensitivity in Altantean skin others of us do not share. Or maybe the magic within or upon the brick includes some kind of power of suggestion.
*Standing under the brick, Callimpsest throws the pebble directly upwards, but he hasn't thrown hard enough, and it falls before reaching the brick. Callimpsest tries again, and succeeds in throwing the pebble above the brick. As it falls back past the brick, the pebble is snared in its gravitational field, and joins the bent arrow in a slow orbit.*
Were it any heavier, *smiles at Red and Morwena* or possessed of a pair of wings, I suspect that that would not happen.
