Opposing the Opposition: Marblehead

*RMR and Phinehas are quietly moving around the depths of Marblehead, heading undetected and unquestioned towards the throne room. Seeing as Count Brinkatore was currently outside of the dungeons then that meant Fear and Sly Hands, assuming they were there, were the ones running the show. The dungeons had a severe lack of intelligent minions, RMR and Phinehas manage to avoid a whole garrison of miretrogs with ridiculous ease.*

"This is too easy Phinehas, I hope you still have those wits about you!, I hate to suggest Fear has the intellectual prowess to have his throne room defended to catch people off guard after an easy progress through the other levels. He has so few men left these days that it's no surprise other levels are unguarded."

[Phinehas]

Well, fortunately caution is something of a birthright for me, not something I lose with success. But I will bear that in mind, especially as I'm not quite so used to these technical traps as I am to magic and natural ones. I think I'll concentrate now, in the hopes of keeping as many steps ahead of these fiends as possible.

*Having said that, Phinehas takes off his cloak and wraps the bow and dagger that he'd bought at Catherine's in it. After checking to make sure it was well wrapped, he stuck it in a niche in the wall. He then loosened his dagger to make sure it would be draw silently, and checked his bow and arrows that were strapped on his back. Thus having removed the extra baggage, he moved to the side of the dark passage and, much to RMR's surprise, effectively dissapears.*

We begin in earnest.

*RMR commands the stone of the wall to disguise Phinehas' things so no one can remove them without his command. Then he turns to see Phinehas 'disappearing'.*

"A most impressive skill you've got there, very handy indeed, I have something fairly similar."

*RMR completely changes colour, he appears as if he were simply a part of the wall behind him, he then moves to the next wall and seems to have the colour of that wall too.*

"It's easy to make the elements disguise you with my powers! Now, we have an unscheduled appointment (what a paradox), with one Fearlord."

*RMR and Phinehas, almost totally invisible press forwards towards the door of Fear's throne room.*

[Phinehas]

*Phinehas chuckles.*

It's not so much a trick as a skill. There's no magic involved in my abilities, unless you consider the perfect knowledge of a skill magic.

*Phinehas watches RMR blend in with his surroundings.*

Wow, that's quite impressive, I almost can't see you. Hmm... maybe I should learn some magic. On second thought, no, I find magic is too easy to sense.

[ringmasterrob]

"Indeed, a problem I have had in the past, but as elemental magic is worked through gaia then it is very difficult, read impossible, to detect."

[Lord Fear]

[ModNote: Lord Fear was last seen in Another report.]

"If some people think they can waltz into my domain then they can think again." mutter Fear as he see's whats going on in his throne room by watching his TechnoScreen.

"Time to make things alot harder"

Lord Fear clapped his hands togther making the walls disappear to reveal a Great Causeway.

"Now to add a little spice"

He clicks his fingers making fireballs rain from the cieling taking out some of the blocks slowly as others fall.

*RMR watches as the fireballs rain down on the causeway that is now the path ahead.*

"I think we need to chill out, Fear, I tried to teach you that last time but I guess it didn't work...."

*RMR uses his ice blast to freeze the fireballs and the causeway into place, he and Phinehas dart across it. Some minions, sent by Fear have just caught up, thinking the causeway is safe they step across...*

"NOW it's time to turn up the heat!"

*RMR melts the ice and watches the unfortunate mire-trogs plummet to their deaths. He then turns to the door of Fear's throne room, blasting it open with the most powerful fireball he can muster. He steps inside.*

"Fearlord, long time no see, I'm glad you're managed to defrost after our last meeting. Although you still look a bit frosty to me..."

[Lord Fear]

"What do you want from me now, If your here to question me, I haven't done anything wrong, can't I be allowed to be kept in peace." he said getting of his throne walking to one of the windows to look down at any one below him.

[ringmasterrob]

"Lord Fear, famous for killing dungeoneers rather brutally during the greater game is taking the moral high ground!? Do you kill your enemies from shock these days or are fireballs still your stock in trade? As it happens then I am here to question you, and providing you remain polite and by polite I mean non-violent, we'll get our answers and be out of here. Understood?"

[Lord Fear]

"Very well, fire away if you must, you're boring me already"

[ringmasterrob]

*RMR frowns at him and waves his hands in the motion to cast a spell, not actually casting one but indicating that Fear is trying his patience.*

"I said remaining POLITE Fear, I know that's difficult for one as arrogant as you but give it a try. All I need to know is whether you have employed anyone new into your service lately, and if so who that might be."

[Lord Fear]

"I haven't employed anyone since... Leytan, but that was short lived, perhaps he quit because he smelled like a fish, my bet is tuna."

[Phinehas]

*Phinehas, sensing that he had very little part to play in this little discussion slipped into the shadows where not even Fear's technology could detect him.*

[ringmasterrob]

"So, no killers that are actually living shadows then? Or if you haven't hired such a creature, have any of your men spotted or worse, been killed by, this shadow?"

*RMR makes sure he keeps Fear's attention while Phinehas gets cover, it'd always help in case Fear tried anything stupid.*

[Lord Fear]

"I've had a few Golbins and such killed for some strange reason, I've been really angry and wanting to know what the hell is going on with living shadows"
