*Lady Mercury listened as she heard the sound of Coriolis' roar*
"I should help..." she murmured to herself, bracing against the tree trunk
*Behind Lady Mercury, a black fog started to appear, gradually becoming more and more pronounced*
"Oh, I don't think so, dear sweet Constance Isabelle Mercury, you'll not be helping your soon to be dear departed Leytan!" *A sinuous voice crooned out of the fog*
*Lady Mercury yelped, and turned around to see the voice, in doing so, she lost her balance and slipped off the branch, she attempted to grab the branch, and managed to hold on for a second before her fingers lost their grip, she gave s short cry, and plummeted to the floor, her scream cutting off as she hit the ground and collapsed unconscious*
*An evil laugh came from the fog as it slowly dissipated*

And the second one? The one who mentioned keeping 'the watcher' from being cornered? Where do his loyalties lie? This watcher, would it happen to be the cat that became quite a nuisance *Leytan rolled his eyes and chuckled slightly.* "Yes thats the watcher or one of them, and he's a profesional fur coverd pain on four legs." "As for my freind well given he's guild trained i would say its a safe bet to say he has loyalties to the Assasins Guild. "....and to his freinds" *Leytan says almost to himself thinking back to the events in Warlock village square.* *Would I be correct to assume you were more of an assassin type than a normal sell-sword? *Leytan laughs slightly.* "Your a perceptive one. My freinds the fully fledged assasin of us......Me." "Assasin, bounty hunter, mercenery, bounty killer, sabatour, theif-for-hire, Enforcer....I've been involved in all thouse lines of work in the past sucessfully fot the most part as well...thats why people pay me." *Lady Mercury's scream cuts threw the forrest and rigth threw Leytan's hart and soul.* "ISABEL!!!" *He calls out. his voice betrays his fear for the safty of his lover.*

Still faded, Wren tensed as he watched the unfamiliar creature roll and hurl his weapon at Coriolis. He recognised it as a swordbreaker - a type of dagger used for catching swordblades in its tooth-like surface.
Now or never he thought grimly as he ran towards the space between the Draconian and the Watcher. No time to deflect it with my sword, and a throwing dagger won't work. Only one thing for it...
He stretched his arm out. The flying blade struck his hand, impaling him through the palm. For the two watching, it was as through the dagger had stopped in mid-air, and was now literally hovering inches before Coriolis. The strangest thing however was the sound of the knife meeting his hand.
A harsh rasping of metal on metal.
The movement on Wren's part had cost him his fade, and he slowly re-appeared in between the two figures. Slowly, deliberatly, he jerked the swordbreaker from his palm with another sound of steel dragged across metal and stood before the creature, red eyes burning with rage.
'Now you see what you made me do? These gloves were NEW!' he roared at the creature, punctuating his statement by jabbing a finger at the now ventilated leather. The view was clear, for both the Aurak before him and the Watcher behind him. Inside his glove was not a hand of flesh of bone, but one of iron.

[OOC: The Swordbreaker in this case is a Greatsword, not a dagger (Flaccus' defensive stance is kind of like Cloud Strife's from Kingdom Hearts, to give you an idea of how Flaccus fights). Flaccus is a Sivak, while Addis is the Aurak.]
*Flaccus blinked, surprised that once again, his attacks that had scored him so many kills, had missed. He then smiled.*
"Ah, good, more people for me to play with. I do get tired of countless Knights who claim they serve the righteous and hunt me down for sport,. They do not know how to properly fight. I'll need my sword back . . . "
*Flaccus stood up straight, then held his right hand in front of him, as if he were holding a sword and pointing it at Wren's chest. The Swordbreaker wretched itself free from Wren's metal hand and flew - handle first - back to Flaccus' hand. Flaccus then assumed his defensive stance and began to slowly side step to the left. Flaccus changed his stance suddenly and jumped towards Wren. Right before the two were within striking range, Flaccus spread his wings and actually flew to the right and made a slash as he passed. Landing, Flaccus turned to make another attack when he suddenly stumbled.*
"What the-"
*Flaccus fell to a knee and tried to move his left leg with his hand. Looking at Wren with an expression that clearly stated "what the F did you do!?", Flaccus tried to stand but fell again to a knee. Noticing that none of his opponents had actually moved against him, he looked about and stopped when he saw a shadow standing behind him. Flaccus' face turned to one of sheer rage.*
"Addis, why the hell are summoning shadows and having them numb my leg during a fight that I was actually getting interested in!?!? When I get my hands on your scrawny neck, I'll rip your head off!!!"
[Shadow] *The shadow, within a shape that looks like Addis Hellfire in every detail except for coloration (y'know . . . shadowy), gave a mock bow.*
"Your brother has sent me to make sure you are not doing anything stupid at the moment, and prevent you from doing so. Also, he instructed me to touch you in order for him to cast a spell on you. Do not worry, the spell is merely Rary's Telepathic Bond. You are all to familiar with that spell. Now if you 'gentlemen' will excuse me, I must be leaving."
*With that, the shadow made a bow to Wren and Coriolis, then faded away.*
[Flaccus]
*Flaccus managed to stand, muttering about some damn chill touch and pain in the arse brothers. Sighing, knowing what was probably coming next, Flaccus took a step back and assumed a defensive stance.*
What? What the hell do you want?!
I do sincerely apologize if I interrupted something. I forgot to cast this spell on you, and this is one of those spells that tend to save our hides on many a occasion.
You sent a shadow to do something you could have easily done yourself!? And, when the hell did you give them chill touch!?[/i]
Chill Touch? I do not remember doing so . . . perhaps I casted the spell when I was asleep?
What . . . ?
Regroup. We may have a situation, and I do not mean the three - I am talking to the third as we mentally speak. From what I just heard, Isabel, a person who . . . what is that human word? Oh yes, loved, by the third, is in danger. No doubt, the two you see may be required to help them. Although I do not shy from a battle often, I think we may want to step aside and let them pass, at least until we know what we are doing. So, in other words, stand down and come here. Now. That is an order. And to make sure you follow that order, that very same shadow is ready to meet with you again.
*Flaccus just stood there. He was visibly shaking, and his grip on his Swordbreaker tightened drastically. For those who could speak Draconic, a string of curses about his brother were being silently hissed by the ex-Sivak Draconian Berserker. Flaccus just stood there for a while, watching Wren and Coriolis, debating in his head whether facing a shadow was worth beheading the two fools . . . or if he should figure out a way to kill Addis at such a range so that the Aurak's death throe did not kill him.*

"Your loyalties can be bought with the right amount of coin, and as long as it does not bring harm to your . . . friends . . . then you are loyal and will effectively complete a mission? I may have some work for you in the future, if we have not actually become hostile with each othe-"
*Addis was cut off by the scream and Leytan's shout.*
"Perhaps this is a bad time . . . If you must dash off to save your lover - I assume 'Isabel' is your lover - then by all means, go. I will not stop you. But if you have a chance sometime in the future, I would like to talk about this realm. I have found in my experience that Assassins tend to know more things about a realm than most scholars. I am curious about geology, races, draconic history and activities, modern history, and the like."
*Addis, deciding that he had prattled on too long, gave a nod and walked past Leytan towards where he was informed that a two on one was taking place. Seeing Wren and Coriolis' backs, and Flaccus standing still like somebody had casted Hold Monster on him, Addis gave a audible chuckle.*
"I assume the two of you are with the other gentleman over there, you may need to go assist somebody named Isabel. We heard a scream, and it sounds like your assistance is required. Please, excuse my brother and I. I assure you, what ever hostilities have occurred are merely a misunderstanding."
*Addis began to walk right in between Wren and Coriolis towards Flaccus. He was calm, but ready if any of the two tried to attack him. Addis spoke in Draconic.*
"Calm yourself, you idiot. I fail to understand why you never try to talk things out instead of resorting to violence. Sure, you are a skilled warrior that few can compare to, but three on one is bad odds. I myself am almost out of spells, and I'm wearing a Ring of Wizardry. I am tired, hungry, and thirsty. You want to get into fights that require me to baby sit you. Fix that small lump you call a brain and bring yourself back to reality. We must be off, before something that we did not quite evade finds us. I would not want to fight a Rakashasha, Aabashi, Baat'asu, or any of the other extra-planar beings that have been hired by who knows to exterminate us."

*Leytan's shout did nothing to wake Lady Mercury, she lay on her side on the forest floor, blood seeping from her head, and also from parts of her body where the tree had torn her limbs. The fog reappeared beside, and seemed to solidify into the shape of a man*
""Hmph, you're worry for Leytan makes you weak, oh Grail guardian, there was a time you would simply have cast a spell and knocked me away, but not anymore!!"
*The figure laughed softly, then reached down and patted Lady Mercury's face. He smiled coldly at Leytan's shout, then seemed to fold back into the fog and disappear*

*Mean while...*
*The journey back was far shorter than the journey to the cave , though as she got closer to the forest she left the group in a frown began to crease her brow, a slight scent in the air, a taste in the breeze and a slight feeling across the skin hinted at magic being used some where and the signiture was not the same as the womans. As she got closer the scent, feel and taste became stronger and the dragon started to give a course sounding chuckle.*
You did not say you was being hunted by any of the Draconian kin, guardian.
*Midnight inhaled sharply as they flew over the forest getting closer each movement bringing them closer and making her senses feel almost over whelmed with worry.*
I did not think we would be but then perhaps the value of gold has more appeal to such than I expected them to risk their lives for.
*They flew over the forest quickly coming to the clearing but there was no sign of the group at all, no sign on them even being there what so ever as the dragon flew over as low as possible.*
Return to where the draconian magic is strongest , I have to find out whether a more powerful band is keeping my friends...company than I expected.
You are aware that I can not harm them unless they harm me or you first yes? They may be of mixed blood but they are still given some...racial immunities.
*Midnight whispers to herself.* Every thing is of mixed blood in some way.
I know, I would not expect you to go against your kin be them distant or not.
*They quickly returned to where they sensed the magic was strongest and her brothers scent hinted in the air, her necklace starting to shimmer icily between varying shades of blue, the leaves starting to wave in the wind caused by the flapping of the dragons wings. She looked down from her view trying to see through the trees and leaves to actually see figures rather than having to make guesses on where, how many and so on.*

*At ground level, a certain "professional fur covered pain on four legs" was making himself useful. He had a lot on his mind and much of it squirreled away as mental notes for the future. His latest playmates also ones to be hunted down? The young assassin... "Wren"... Seems to have spent time with a "Dreamer" at some point? Too many questions and not enough answers.* *All this would need to wait, the various cries, shouts and spikes of magic flying around hadn't got past the Watchers attention either. The faded White Tiger pounded back to the tree He'd left Lady Mercury on top of barely a few minutes before. The sight that greeted him wasn't a good one. They were going to need help and fast.* *Almost as if on Cue, the Green stone around his neck lit up like a miniature star and that only meant one thing. His Sister was nearby. Even in the early Dawn, He could see precious little amongst the thick canopy of the forest but the steady and familiar beat of Dragon Wings carried for miles across the air. All Coriolis could do is hope Dragon and Rider could spot Him from the air.* *Staying close to the Injured Lady, The Cat sat on it's Rump and carefully pawed the Pendant a few inches out from his Chest. Then balancing on his hind legs He passed His other front paw back and forth over the top of it. momentarily blocking the steady Green glow until it became a small flashing signal beacon up into the Purple and Orange sky...* [Sighs] Yer eyes better be sharp ones, Lass. Looks like a life depends on it...

*Flaccus eventually got his barrings took a offensive stance - looking right at Addis. He spoke in common, forgetting to switch to Draconic in his rage.*
"You told me to deal with the cat so you could rest!! I was in the process of doing so when all this happened!! It is not my fault that you did not guess that this could happen!! Perhaps that is why Botaxis died back in the War of the Lance!! And they made you a General, pfah. Fine, let us flee yet another battle, and let these fools join the uncountable numbers of hunters looking to 'rid the multiverse of a dire threat'. Where should we go now? And -"
*Flaccus looked upward a bit and blinked.*
"I thought I saw something . . . anyways, give me at least an idea as to what you are planning. If you even have a plan."

*Leytan didn't even wait till Addis was out of sight just untill he had past him and then he took of running at full speed in the direction of were the scream had come from.*
*He pushed aside branches and thorns in exactly the same manner, he cut his hands a few times on sharper throns but he couldn't care less about these flesh wounds.*
"Isabel....Isabel!!!"
*He kept calling out as he tried despretly to locate his missing lover. Eventualy he came apon the scene he had known he would and yet had hoped he would not. There, with Coriolis & Wren standing over her, was his lover Lady Constance Isabel Mercury laying motionless on the ground blood seepingg from a wound in her head and from other parts of her broken body.*
*The colour drained from Leytan's skin, he sudenrly found his mouth had gone dry and his hands were sweating. He couldn't speak, for a few moments he couldn't even move. Then hid limbs remember how to function again and he found himself walking slowly over to were she lay.*
*He crouched down beside her, he took one of her hands in his, he gently brushed away some of her hair that was laying across her face and gazed at her. Her face was coverd in dirt and blood....*
"Please don't die Isabel.....please don't leave me alone."
*Leytan for a moment didn't register that it was he who had just spoken. He was also aware of a feeling he had not felt in many a long year....not since his early child hood....he could feel tears welling up inside his eyes.*
"Please don't die,"

*Rhiannon kept her gaze wandering over the trees trying to make out what was beneath the branches, she heard running and muttering only just but not clear enough now loud enough to be able to give her any clear in sights to what was going on below. She began to scan around them as the dragon continued to hover as much as possible over the same spot. Her skin almost itching with the tingling of magic that filled the iar. The fully grown dragon began to grow bored and slowly started to move in a couple of directions though staying over the area of magic. For a few minutes she saw nothing then a brief flash of green light caught in the light, was it her imagination or was it her brothers sign of hinting at where he was...or was it some kind of trap?*
*She sighed quietly, there truly was only one way to find out, she pointed to the direction of the brief flash of emerald light that had got her eye, the distance small truly not taking them far from the magic at all. She looked over the spot where she saw the flash come from, yet again the dense foliage truly preventing her being able to make a proper guess.*
Nothing is ever easy.
Take me down as low as you can, I need to go down and see what is going on.
You can continue to fly here or go to the clearing we was at earlier and wait I will be there as quickly as possible.
*The dragon lowered herself as close tot he tips of the trees as possible as Rhiannon flung one leg over so she was side saddeling the dragon, taking a deep breath and closing her eyes , she suddenly pushed herself off the safety of the dragon and began to free fall, only a second or two passed before the first branch struck her body, she opened her eyes quickly , keeping her body as relaxed as possible , taking the first couple of strikes to her form without much complaint but then grabbed hold of the next branch that was about to fly past her , grasping it briefly enough to be able to get her feet on the branch below, gaining a feeble balance for a few moments before quickly beginning to climb down to the ground. A couple of fresh wounds decorated her skin, one at her forehead, a deep cut from a dead branch bleed leaving a trail of it down her cheek seeming darker than normal in comparison to her pale skin, her already torn, worn and wrecked beyond all repair clothing gained another few small tears and her hair gained a few more leaves, twigs and flowers in it, giving her a wild, feral and seemingly barbaric appearance once her feet actually hit the ground.*
*She took a few moments to take in the next sight, the group gathered around the limp, unconscious form of the woman, she approached quickly and knelt down next to the woman, her hand moving to rest upon the womans forehead, a faint orange light beginning to shimmer in between the two slowly enveloping Rhiannon's hand, at the moment she did not true healing bar to the wounds that needed it, her main focus in trying to find the true problem that had seemed to be plaguing the woman since before Rhiannon had left the group.*
*Her eyes half closed she appeared to have blocked out the others, a brief moment of thought of her automatically taking the role of healer and not even taking in if any one had already started but the need and want to help came as easily and as naturally as breathing and time sometimes was the only thing she had not to waste.*

Post by Lady Mercury on Jun 12, 2008 11:17:29 GMT
*As Midnight placed her hand on Lady Mercury's forehead and commenced healing, she had a momentary vision of dense black fog surrounding Lady Mercury, and also her own hand where it met Lady Mercury's skin. Midnight felt an emptiness surround her briefly, then vanish. As the empty feeling vanished, Lady Mercury gave a very slight moan, and the cut on her head seemed to beging to heal, Midnight got the impression that there were some broken ribs from the fall from the tree, and possibly some intrenal bleeding where the ribs had caused damage.*
*Lady Mercury uttered another moan, and attempted to twist away from Midnight's hand, as she did so, Midnight got a jumbled image of Lady Mercury sitting up the tree, then falling, and then the image of the black fog taking the shape of a man hovering next to her and the words he said before vanishing*
*As the image vanished, more of the superficial wounds on her body began to heal*

*As the woman tried to twist away Rhiannon increased pressure on ehr head and leaned over her a little more, her eyes still half closed , she shakes her head slightly a moment a look of concern and confusion crossing her face.*
Stay still, I am not going to hurt you, just help.
*She brought her other hand down lightly over the womans chest, her hand hovering for a few moments a few inches above before actually making contact being as gentle as possible, sseeming to fall into a almost trance like state, a similar orange glow starting to appear around her second hand as well, she began to work on the ribs slowly bringing the broken bones back together and starting them knitting back together , waiting until the healing was well in hand and so no more damage was done internally she then began to work on the internal bleeding, slowly healing any wound she could actually find.*
*Though her main concern was over the images she had briefly witnessed and her memory brought up the image of the fog she thought she had imagined earlier. As the various feelings came and vanished she shivered slightly, her skin starting to become paler as her energy started to drain from her, her body becoming stiff with tension and concentration. She seemed to have blocked the rest of the world out, seeming to ignore anything the others were doing or saying though she could still hear the steady almost drumbeating sound of the dragons wings fading then becoming louder as the dragon seemed to have decided to linger above rather than head to the clearing.*
*Unsure how to deal with the fog that could return at any time she began to bite her bottom lip gently, then slowly harder , her sharp teeth starting to cut through the thin skin as a look of contemplation crossed her face as she tried to decide over whether to add a extra type of healing to the woman but the spell was difficult and she was unsure if it would even help at all also with the woman being a sorceress of some kind she was unsure whether the magic would even be able to work with hers. Thought here was only truly one way to find out and even if it only worked briefly perhaps it would help until they at least got to Winteria.*
*As she finished healing the ribs completely though the woman would have some stiffness and be sore for the next few days and need to rest to her wounds were healed almost fully bar just a couple of bruises and light scratches that would heal without any scaring in their own time. She leaned over the woman, the air becoming slightly cooler and small goose bumps raised along her arms, her jewel began to glow slowly and dimly then brighter again seeming to go through a variety of colours, she brought both hands up to the womans head a moment then one over her chest just above her heart and began to mutter under her breath, the words were slow, deep and sounded slightly broken, though was obviously not in the common language, only truly Coriolis would be able to know the language of the Watchers but even perhaps the what she was doing would be unknown. *
*The orange glow slowly started to turn to a icy blue and seemed to dim and become small for then a faint line began to appear from one hand to the other, as thin as a spiders web and seemingly just as delicate, more lines began to spread out from each hand , moving over the womans body slowly seeming to wrap her in a webbing though she was clearly visable through it it did not covered her but was becoming just like a spiders web, the air seemign to grow cooler still despite the rising sun coming. Her eyes closed even further in concentration and her hands began to tremble and shake as well as her body. Tiredness soon etching across her face. though she continued to try and work.*
((OOC: the spell is a protection spell, to protect mind and spirit and emotion from magical powers though would need Midnight to work on it each day to keep it strong, up to you whetehr the magic works or fails Lady M.))

*Addis spoke calmly in Draconic, and continued walking slowly past Flaccus.*
"Speaking in a language others would probably understand is not wise, brother. Assuming a stance that would threaten me is also most unwise. I do not have an actual plan of action yet, for I know to little about our situation - other than we may have enemies coming to this realm, or we may have enemies already here."
*Addis turned and walked casually backwards, and gestured at the group of strangers all crowding a fallen woman. He stopped at a tree and sat in the shade.*
"Come here, we must not interfere in the affairs of others when it would not benefit us in any way. Now, my origional idea before our thoughts were interrupted was to go over what information we already possess."
*Addis' right hand fished around inside his robe until it came up holding a medium-sized black tome covered in red runes. Slowly hovering the opposite hand over the runes, Addis hissed the words to disarm the traps he had placed. The runes moved about the book, inverting themselves. Addis then opened the book and began to idly read random pages.*
"From Krynn, the forces of the White Stone Council have a rather large number of magi gating in various squads of mixed troops to hunt us down. I did not know we warranted such a threat. Some Phyrxians - The Brotherhood of Gix to be exact - have tried to enslave us. We managed to escape and eliminate a large chunk of their Reapers. Of course, they want revenge and have followed us through some realms. The demon, Gix, is somewhat easy to evade since his mind is more focused on the power Urza the Planeswalker took from him. In Mirrodin . . . more Phyrxians . . . I do not remember getting into so much hostilities with that demonic race. Along with them, we have a race that I can not quite remember the name of. You would remember them though, they are the ones who have various inventions and enslave the other races when they can. In Domineeria, various magi seek us as pets and summonable monsters. Others have deemed us threats to their seats of power. Ravenloft - the realm you found yourself in - seems to have taken a liking to me. I could have sworn I saw shapes within a Mist the last time I casted a teleportation spell. Gothica brought us Adler Mages who we had allied with temporarily. However, they want our souls and I can not allow that. I am to attached to my soul. Hm . . . What about this realm? Are there any threats here that we should worry about?"

All very interesting, I am sure. I just wish I could understand the first word of it.
Taking the oppertunity to Fade once again when the second of the strange creatures appeared, Wren perched atop a nearby treebranch, keeping both the Draconians and his group in view. He gripped the throwing daggers in his palm tightly. This time, if anything went down, he would be prepared for it.
Meanwhile, he was trying to salvage what was left of his glove. The blade he had taken for a mere dagger had taken more of a chunk out of his hand than expected, and as time went on it was becoming more and more difficult to flex his fingers. There were also worrying sparks beginning to form around the gouge. If there were to get any brighter, then his fade would prove completly useless.
He resisted to urge to move from his current position and rejoin his party. If the creatures decided to attack again, he was determined to have the first strike.
