*Dreslin starts at Drassandre's voice, and then shakes his head as he realises he has forgotten to close the door*
"It's fine, please come in!" he calls to her

*Drassandre comes into the room, carrying the stew in a pot on a tray. It is not until she has set it down on the bedside table that she notices Dreslin's scarred torso. She lets out a gasp, then bows her head in embarrassment.*

*Drelin sighed and then smiled at Drassandre*
"I apologise, I didn;t mean for you to see this, it isn;t really the sort of thing a young lady such as yourself should see..."
*Dreslin folds his arms and looks uncomfortable at his mistake, and at the embarrasment he has caused Drassandre*

*Drassandre hurries out of the room, in a way that could be perceived as fleeing. But a few moments later, she returns with a small brown bundle. She holds it out to Dreslin. Closer inspection will reveal it to be a monk's outfit.*
Drassandre: A guest left this behind some time ago. I know it is not ideal attire, but I hope it will suffice until you can purchase something more appropriate.

*Dreslin unfolds the monks garb, and then gives Drassandre a beaming smile*
"Thank you for these, they'll be perfect until I can find something else!"
*He bows low to Drassandre, before pulling on the monks robes*

Drassandre: You are welcome. 'Tis all a part of the service. And your secret rests safely with me. *Pause* But you would surely understand if I admitted to being... curious.

*Dreslin looks at Drassandre, as if wondering how far he could trust her, then gives a deep sigh, and sits easily onto the bed*
"As you've been so kind to me, the least I can do is explain how I came to be like this..."
*Dreslin's voice tails off and he looks past Drassandre, his eyes seem unfocused, as if he's dragging up an unpleasant memory. He motions for her to take a seat before he starts*
"As you've probably surmised, I am not from this realm. ALready I can see the similarities and difference betwen this one and my own.. But I digress, you asked how I obtained these"
*He gestures towards the scars that cover his back and chest*
"Where I come from, my people tend to keep themselves to themselves, within the Moon Glen and her surrounding forests."
*Dreslin smiles happily at the memory of his home land*

Drassandre: Is that how you acquired those scars? Punishment for not keeping yourself to yourself?

*Dreslin smiles sadly at this comment*
"o, it wasn;t from my people that I got these. I was around the human age of 16 winters when I came across poachers attempting to hunt the fabled winged unicorns that live within the Moon Glen. Winged unicorns have been protected by our laws for as long as our history goes back. They are often used by our noblest of warriors as steeds, but only when they can decide for themselves if they wish to be ridden, so my epople are only allowed to approach them when they are fully grown..."
*Dreslin's voice seems to swell as he talks of the unicorns, then his face falls as he continues his story*
"These poachers were trying to catch the unicorn foals, for in the world outside the Moon Glen, they are worth a fortune! I was travelling through the forest that day, when I heard the unicorns cry out, I raced to where they were coming from, and saw that these men had laid a snare, and caught a unicorn foal."
*Dreslin's fists clench as he describes the scene, and there is real anger on his face*
"They were laughing at the pain they were causing it. Logic told me that one small elf child stood no chance against 5 grown men, but logic didn;t come into it. I ran straight at them, as I ran, I used magic to cut the cords binding the unicorn, so it would be able to escape. As soon as it found itself free, it ran for the safety of the Moon Glen, and I found myself facing the now furious poachers..."

Drassandre: How frightening. What happened next?

*Dreslin laughed hollowly*
"I managed to catch one of them whilst they were off guard with a moonfire spell, but the others were soon upon me. They beat me resoundly, then carted me off to town, to be sold as a slave, in their eyes, an elf will fetch a good price, almost as much as the unicorn would've done... I'd like to say that the person who brought me was a good person but" *here Dreslin motions towards his torso*
"This was my punishment for trying to escape from them..."
Dreslin's voice trails off and he looks downcast, and embarrassed*

Drassandre: I am so sorry to hear of your suffering. Through all that, was there no one to help you?

*Dreslin gave a humourless laugh at Drassandre's comment*
"Not all people are as kind as you, my dear. The person that bought me was a well known and powerful wizard, known almost as well for his cruelty as his power, so people were afraid to stand up against him. He took it upon himself to collect people from different realms, and that was his undoing. He bought a swordsman from the far west of our world, and an enchantress from another world when I was around 19 winters, he treated them far worse than me, so we devised a plan to escape..."
*Dreslin smiles at the memory of his companions*

Drassandre: What bravery and cunning that must have taken.

(OOC: SOrry, got RPG block fro Dreslin ) *Dreslin smiles faintly at Drassandre's words and inclines his head slightly at her* "I wouldn;t really call it cunning and bravery, more like coincidence and good luck! We were lucky, on the day we planned to escape, a riot broke out in the town, caused, I think, by people starting to see our captor for what he was! LAdy Jenna, the enchantress cast a spell to allow us access to the world, and both the swordsman and I helped fight our way out!" *Dreslin smiled faintly*
