Fascinating. Another interdimensional voyager sits among us. Do tell us more at some point, won't you? But now, the project, modest though it might be. Earlier today, whilst in the ultimately successful process of locating you *he looks in PhoenixFlame's direction* within the Wolf's Howl Inn, I encountered a girl who looked to be no more than 13 or 14 years, and who happened to know you. As did the lady with whom I was conversing when the girl approached, one Constance of room 24. Not that these facts are of strict relevance to my project, but I offer them for the purposes of scene-setting. *He pauses, looking round at the others in case they wish to interject or interrogate.* Shall I continue?

*Phoenixflame frowned slightly*
"The girl could be a former student I suppose, or could it be that one that was there when we fought the snake?" *The last is said to Morwena, however at the name Constance, Phoenixflame and Morwena share a sharp look*
"Constance you say? The name rings a bell, it could be someone I met on my travels I suppose, hopefully I'll bump into them at some stage! Did either of them seem upset, or anything?"

Not so much upset as distracted, from what I could tell. Having said that, I didn't pass much time with either, thus my observations were limited. This is all somewhat tangential to the project of course, which originated with something the girl said. Shall I go on?

Yes, please do continue, Callumpsing. I'm intrigued...
*slightly to himself* ...a hero is always useful for any sort of project.

*Meliss gives a slight start when she hears the name of Constance*
"One recognises that name from when I was at the boarding school, she was in some of my classes, perhaps. At least, one does remember hearing that name spoken during my time there. I too wish to hear more"

*Zeytan is also pondering the name.*
"Constance...............Constance......"
"Yes...yes i to feel that i should reconise this name for some resson.....a past aquintence perhaps...and yet i feel that it is not someone i have met more rather heard of. I'll probabley kick myself when anf if i remember and can place the name."
*Dismissis thoughts.*
"But as you say Calimpesest, mere deatils do please continue."

"Please do go on Callimpsest, I'm intrigued as to this project! "

The girl said this: "Perhaps he" - meaning the innkeeper - "is still outside.. I suppose he is still pondering on the floating brick." Such an item is both a concern and a fascination, and as I said at the time, it is something I'm keen to investigate.

*Phoenixflame arched an eyebrow at Callimpsest*
" A floating brick definitely sounds intriguing, I wonder how long it's been there for? And how it got there? I for one think it makes a worthy investigation!"
*Phoenixflame grinned and Morwena looked animated at the possibility of adventure*

*Meliss ponders what the floating brick could mean*
"One wonders if the spot where the brick is, is a weak point between dimensions, where they overlap with each other. The brick could belong to a complete house in the next dimension"
*Long pause*
"On the other hand, it could be something less exotic, but it still intrigues me and I too would like to look into it further"

"I third that notion as Miss Meliss says even if this mysterious floating brick should turn out to have a perfectly hum drum explination such as some magic users idea of a joke, it will be fun endevoring to find that explination out."
*Zeytan says with a hint of childish glee.*

*Lanesra has been busying herself at a nearby table, and overhears the conversation.*
Lanesra: The brick? I've seen it. Just hanging stock-still in the air outside the Wolf's Howl, a floor or two up. Looks like it's from their chimney, but the staff have given up trying to do anything about it. If you had any thoughts of borrowing our ladder again, I'd not recommend it. Not now the landlord's back.

Not to worry. Indeed, we can only truly fathom the brick by reaching it and bringing it down, so to speak. And I must concede that I myself have neither the physical nor magical prowess which might be needed to accomplish such a task. Just that sturdy net I was discussing earlier. Which is why I was hoping that there would be interest from the rest of you, and I'm glad there is.
I suggest that we depart for the Wolf's Howl Inn, whereupon we can begin by getting a good look at the brick, its elevation, proximity to a window, et cetera. The longer we wait, the closer night will draw, and the more darkness will impede us. To those that wish to stay here, we can rejoin you afterward.
*Callimpsest finishes off his drink.*

*Zeytan finishes the last of his Winterian Wine and places the glass carefully on the table*
"I concure Calimpesets, the onset of dusk will hampre any investigation. Also i have some instruments in my room at the Wolfs Howl which may aid us in the examination of this strange floating Phenomnan."
