I have another problem myself - the old "GreenDragon" account I had (Meliss - Hordriss' niece). I've forgotten the password for it and I had been going to add more to her story. When I tried to retrieve it, the board sent it to an old e-mail address that doesn't work anymore

Well I worked it out (the password) and Meliss is back in business and ready for any storylines that come her way ;D

A reunion! Well done - it must be pleasing to have all your accounts at your disposal once again. However, please be mindful of the forum's Character Creation rules and avoid having all three characters in play at the same time. You'd make us all dizzy. (As for whether you now want to create a fresh account for Cassandra... I'm content for that to be your decision.)

Although Ricky hasn't announced it here, he'd mentioned to me that was off to France yesterday (for how long I am not sure). Since he has been active lately as Leytan, Tom Troughton, Count Brinkatore, Skarkill and King Hydrass, his absence potentially affects nearly every current storyline!

Well...... It's been nearly 2 months now and the 'Hunt' has come to an abrupt halt in the mother of all Forest Fires. In light of this, both Watchers have effectively moved on to explore another Realm:- labyrinth.hyperboards.com/index.cgiOur story will continue there, set 6 weeks (approximately real time ) after the events chronicled here in Surrounds... I post this, not to steal the thunder of Surrounds or 'pimp' users away from it. simply to let those who may have followed our adventures know where the 'Watchers' have gone. The labyrinth board currently has only a couple of active players and is in the early stages of it's adventures but works on a similar principle to here. IE:- The same common sense rules apply. My thanks to the DMs and MODs who have given me a lot of enjoyment these last 2 years... A polite request to those of you whose characters have transferred to the Labyrinth forum, and thus have left Surrounds: please could you post a mention of this in your Character Profile thread, to make your position clear to the rest of us? Thank you. A second request. Could one or more of you please explain to me what the relationship is between the Surrounds realm and the Labyrinth realm? I'm really confused, and somewhat worried, as to how there can be two Wolfendens existing simultaneously, with almost all of the same features. Are we talking parallel universes? I'm also keen to learn why Labyrinth was set up in the first place, since its creation wasn't mentioned here until months afterward - was/is there something particularly at fault with Surrounds? I don't understand, and would be appreciative of any light that's shed, providing you're not angry with me for making this post. Hopeful thanks in advance.

It's OK YG. No harm done but I'll clarify what's been happening To my knowledge, NO characters have transferred in the way you mean from one board to the other (The only reason that 'Finally Home' has stopped again after returning Sly is that it's my turn to post in that thread and I haven't got around to putting something decent together yet!). At the time of the post of mine that you've quoted, Surrounds had seemingly come to a close. The most recent post before then had been almost 4 months previous and nobody was moving in any direction in any plot whatsoever. 'Labyrinth' was created in reaction to the lull simply so that the few that (at the time) were still actively interested in the plots we were playing could continue to do so and have a small amount of 'backstage' control over what we were doing. I'll say again NO-ONE that I know of has left 'Surrounds' to play on 'Labyrinth exclusively. Nearly all Labyrinth players are active on both boards. To address the potential for plot conflicts, consider Labyrinth to be a parrallel world. Unconnected to Surrounds with the exception of a few familiar faces (Sci-Fi buffs who remember the program 'Sliders', the idea is the same). Ironically enough, Labyrinths mention on the main KM.com Forum seemed to trigger a miniature rebirth with several characters returning to old stories and more than a few new players arriving here on Surrounds! All to the good as far as I'm concerned. ;D From this angle, I have no problems with Surrounds whatsoever and neither board is in competition with the other. Players are more than welcome to play on both boards and make use of the parrallel realm setup that has emerged. It could be an interesting way to play all those 'What if?' scenarios that have cropped up during the adventures. Labyrinth was simply created because, at the time, we were scared that Surrounds had reached the end (a thought that was VERY wrong) and built the board to allow our stories to continue. No other reason than that.

As are you, it seems! It's OK YG. No harm done but I'll clarify what's been happening ... Cheers, that's helpful. I probably should've asked sooner. Various remarks had given me the impression that Labyrinth was a kind of Surrounds-in-the-near-future, and that some characters (Vyrrian Wren, the Watchers) were posting retrospectively here to bridge the time gap, before transferring off Surrounds and treating Labyrinth as the present - I'm sure you can see the potential for confusion! But if people are happy to regard their characters' Labyrinth incarnations as independent 'doubles', and to continue roleplaying on both forums, then as you say, all to the good. Even in the Crazed Heifer's quietest moments, I was watching, ready as its Moderator to roleplay with anyone who chose to venture there. So should Surrounds fall silent again, members are welcome to contact the Mods with requests for resuscitation. (And yes, I was a fan of Sliders, though it lost a lot of its appeal to me when they killed off Arturo...)

Just a reminder: if you are going to be away from the forum for a prolonged period (i.e. longer than a few days), please post about it in advance if you possibly can, or at least message a recently-active Moderator, who can then spread the word as necessary. It saves the rest of us getting worried or waiting indefinitely for you to make the next post in a thread in which your character's involved. Thank you.
