I say, what a cracking form! What? Oh yes, perhaps I should just fill it in.... goodo! [OOC: He speaks in an accent so posh as to shatter glass, this might explain some of the spelling!]
1) Name?
Zeriphel Solaris, but do call me 'Zeph'
2) How old are you?
22
3) Where are you from?
Gates of the Moon, it's a city a rather long distance away doncha'know.
4) How did you arrive?
Rode the Vortex, just a special form of teleportation really
5) Do you work best with people, on your own, or does it not bother you either way?
I like to work with people, but people don't always like t'work with me! Can't understand it really, but I suppose I might get some gettin' used to!
6) What can you smell in your room?
Faint whiff of Ozone off me old resonator.
7) Would you take this smell into your dormitory if you could?
Rather have to, there ain't much choice
Do you have a pet with you (please register your familiar with a teacher in the staff room)?
Oh rather!
9) If so, what is its name?
Her name's Diana, and she's really a rather beautiful giant moth, she's also quite capable of speakin' for herself, as she keeps on reminding me!
10) Which subjects do you most look forward to?
Wild magic of course, (see below) but any sorts of incantations and potion work is always fun!
11) Which subject do you least look forward to?
I do hope they'll have patience with my condition, otherwise ev'ryone might treat me badly.
12) Do you have any dietary needs, addictions or loathing that we should be aware of?
It's a bit more than that. Y'see, I suffer from WMS, wild magic syndrome. It ain't too bad unless I'm not wearing me ol'resontor, wot! That's the golden circlet around my head, it earths the old uncontrollable energy. Of course it seeps out a bit, sorry that m'clothes are quite so multi-coloured but wild magic does that, explains why the old eyes, hair and skin change colour all the time as well! Let's hope it don't spread into the air around, wot!
Anyway, I'm a postgrad student, doin' the old thesis on Wild magic, and so whilst I'd love to take part in the lessons as a pupil, I'll also give some classes! I can do all the basics of course, but my real love is wild magic! Let me explain:
Have you had any teaching experience previously?
Given a few tutorials back at the old college, but school's a new one. Frightfully keen though!
Which subject do you wish to teach?
Wild magic, uses and control thereof. Bit excitin' but very practical in practiced hands. You wouldn't even need to open a wild portal in the school, I'm a walkin' one of those!
What qualification do you have in this subject?
BA (Occu) (Bachelor of Occutology) specialisin' in this, and of course a lifetime of havin' to deal with WMS, which doesn't half teach you a few tricks, wot!
Could you tell us briefly about this subject?
Wild magic is goin' back to the very nature of what magic is about, raw creative energies! Over the millenia other wizards have formulised the ways in which we spellcast, but the raw material is more powerful and adaptable. Of course it's also a bit dangerous, but with the right precautions the basic classes are perfectly safe. More advanced lessons will take place in the Vortex of magic itself! So let your magic express your innermost self, and go wild!
Which level could you take this learning to with our students (basic, intermediate, advanced, educational)?
Advanced, even if I do say so m'self, the old tutor was a master in the field and I've picked up the odd trick of me'own!
How often can you take a lesson?
Would vary on the ol' research, but wild magic classes have to be spontaneous and fast. Still, once a week ain't out of the question at a good time!
[OOC: Essentially, if the class needs to be continuous in real time, having never seen one done on the old KMBS, then once a week or even fortnight is probably the most. If classes work like stories on the Surrounds forum, i.e. people contributing whenever they can, then really quite often!]
Briefly outline the subject curriculum.
We start in your basics of what and where is wild magic, then go into manipulation and self-expression usin' simple magics. Then taming more complicated spells and the use of truly random surges, through into (eventually) genuine thought-magic! Throughout, I'll be givin' my tips on how to turn chaos into an advantage, which ain't such bad advice for life in general, doncha'know!
Briefly outline a typical lesson plan.
Bit o' chattin' from me at first, followed by a bit o' experimentation on my own ideas. Then a free bit of creative work to find each student's self-expression. Conclusion, questions and farewell!
Will you be setting homework?
Not at first, except theory, dangerous outside supervision.
What would be a typical length of time for students to complete it in?
Oh, I'm very flexible... by the next class?
Well, hope that's all clear! Look forward t'hearin' from you all!
