[ModNote: Continued from Deeper and Darker Mysteries.] *Hordriss bends over the body of Korrlock. The state of putrefaction is bad, and he rolls back his long sleeves before pulling open the body's cloak.* Where are you, I can sense... ah...

[ModNote: Scareye was previously seen in The Postman calls.] *The spirit of Scareye is still watching, he thinks the Bloodfang blade would be a useful weapon against his enemies. He decides to make it his and appears in his solid form* Scareye: Hello wizard, I suggest you hand over the blade now unless you want this to go a more violent way *Hordriss raises his hands* Scareye: Now, now Hordriss you cannot kill the dead. Also my spirit is much stronger than one which can be bagged. Hand it over or else.... *Scareye charges up some form of spell*

*Hordriss' hands fall to his side [OOC: he doesn't have a staff!], he knows when he is beaten.*
One recognises a superior force, one shall retrieve it.
*Slowly, so Scareye won't suspect any teleportation spells, Hordriss bends down, and with a sickening squelch pulls the black-bladed knife from Korrlock' chest. He shudders slightly as he does so, probably at the smell. Then he hands it to Scareye.*
Now please, you have what you want. Leave now.

*Although when Hordriss touches Scareye's hand then his hand goes through it, the blade is now firmly held in Scareye's hand. Hordriss' hand is now very numb.*
Scareye: Well then Hordriss, it is nice to see you have some respect for the superior. Shame you are not so foolishly aligned to the forces of good. Otherwise you would make a fine servant.
*The sounds of Tom and Ursula are approaching the forge*
Scareye: Well, I must leave you, my plans require more stages. Have something to remember me by!
*Scareye casts a spell which flings Hordriss a few metres backwards and he lands fairly painfully on a tree root. Scareye disappears with the Bloodfang Blade*

*Hordriss levers himself up on one arm, painfully. However, the look of pain in his eyes is disproportionate to his bruises. Then it is gone, and Hordriss smiles.*
You are powerful, my lord, but one has dealt with meglomaniacs for many years. You are not as all-knowing as you think.

[ModNote: Continued from A Strange Sight.] *Brother Strange enters the clearing slowly, head down. He moves his head from side to side, apparently surveying the ground.* I am too late... One door closes, another door opens. One evil is undone, another emerges. Hordriss, what has happened here?

"OH MY GIDDY AUNT."
*upon seeing Scareye he used an ivisable spell coupled with Sences Blackout so as not to be seen.*
"Ursula my dear I would sujest conceling yourself as well."
*When Scareye left Tom started to go over to help Hordriss, when Brother Strange apperd on the scene. He dispelled.*
"What has happen my dear Brother Strange is I fear the begining of Armagedon for the relms of Knightmare & The Netherworlds."

Calm yourself, my friends. That being, the lich lord, may yet cause the destruction of so much... but not with the Bloodfang Blade. *He raises his hand to forestall any questions.* Let us first leave this place, I fear that my lord Scareye has been needlessly melodramatic in his exit. Come friends. *Hordriss heads deeper into the forest, all those who want follow.* Scareye has the Blade, but he is welcome to it, for the animating spirit no longer resides within it. It is now nothing more than a faintly sinister knife. As you well know, the dark spirit of the blade now lurks deep in our minds. Yes... I absorbed the last of its essence before handing it over, whereas you Tom, Miss Ursula, were already possessed. Time is short, and the peace due to the final repose of the child will not subdue it for long. We must divide our efforts. Troughton, I trust you learned how to inscribe Kavorken's circle of warding? And Miss Ursula, you have knowledge of the Sorrel, Feverfew and other warding herbs. One requests that you pool your resources and form a warding barrier in a clearing around a central spot. One will search out a vessal and a flamewarden..... Yes... that will be required for the Ritual of the Forge. *Turns to Brother Strange* As for you, Brother, one welcome's your presence but time is short, it is imperative that we destroy this spirit immediately. We three will need to enter a state of mental union, one believes that you have experience in the spirit world... *He leans closer.* More importantly, you are the only one here not tainted by this presence. One would be grateful if you would watch, and make sure that it does not manifest itself. Remember that over the next hours we may not be fully in control. *Hordriss straightens.* Now, one must leave to search for the flamewarden. [OOC: Brief pause for any replies, although they could have come at any point during the speech.] Now let us hurry, and know our own minds. *Hordriss teleports away.* [OOC: I'll continue in the Village, but I'll be back to this thread when I return]

*As the grass bursts into flame, Ursula snarls in mixed animal fear and anger, the beast in her both intimidated and enraged by the fire it instinctively fears. She slowly calms as the fires die down, though she still seems somewhat edgy as she follows Hordriss and Brother Strange deeper into the forest*
"We are possessed by this blade as well? How can that be? I feel no different..."
*She listens to Hordriss' instructions, trying to shake off the uncharacteristic feeling that she should leave these foolish humans to their own problems, before they take any actions against Gaia that would require... chastisement. Frowning at herself, she nods*
"Yes, I have what is needed to use nature's warding magics, I will help."

"Thats a charming thing to think Ursula."
"Leave these foolish humans to their own problems."
"Not Possesed are you. That is certainly not The Ursula I know. I don't belive she would ever think such a thing."

"Do not presume that you know me. Perhaps you have seen one side of what I am... but I doubt you are familiar with the other."

"What are we doing?"
"Ursula don't let that thing dictate what you are thinking, Its trying to set us aginst each other. Fight It."
