[ModNote: Continued from On The Path.. to nowhere.] *A usual day in Wolfenden with the Market in full swing. Just as Elizabeth thought, Scaramonger and Ah Wok are nowhere to be seen (For obvious reasons. Some more obvious than others.. yes..). The usual stalls leading all the way up the streets selling their various knick-knackeries. Strangely, there is one unattended stall in the Marketplace, and even more worryingly it is loaded with goods, but no attending seller. From the look of the stall, it has been left untouched for a couple of days* "I.. remember this.. I guess we won't be needing Gold or Silver to buy ourselves information." *Raven pauses by the empty stall and looks at it's contents* ((Mod Note: Edited the name Midnight to Elizabeth as that is the nme of the NPC Raven is traveling with not Midnight.))

*Elizabeth stares at Raven blankly a moment before giving a blink and a nod of her head.*
Well we can use gold, silver, copper, special items or our own information if it is something that holds something that is wanted. Or we could do errands for information. The way of payment varies depending on who you deal with, though I am nto sure any of the stall holders would have any information you will need or any help you can actually use.

[ModNote:
This is why I would recommend putting an NPC's name before everything he or she says, as I do with the Crazed Heifer serving girls. It helps to distinguish the NPC from the account's main character. Using a different colour for the text in NPC posts is another idea, as demonstrated by Lokie and Morwena.
Also, I am moving this thread to the Marketplace section, as the content suggests that it belongs there. If and when Raven and Elizabeth wish to interact with Catherine Barter or Salamanda, I'd suggest crossing over into 'Blackmail in the Mail', where those traders are currently active.]

OOC: I've avoided saying Midnight for so long, it had to slip out eventually BIC: *Raven looks down at the cart still, and reaches out to pick up a small phial. It is labelled 'Pooka'. Raven smirks at this and puts the bottle down. She was about to move away, when something catches her eye. She turns to the cart once again and picks up a book. The book gleams a pearlescent silver and has runes across the front* "Hey.. this is the book I found in the dungeon!" *She reaches out to pick it up*

*Elizabeth caught a brief glimpse of the book and raises a eyebrow slightly.*
You and books do not seem to get along very well..or should I say the trouble is books seem to get you into trouble with other people involved.
And how can you be sure that is the exact book? That could be one of dozens depending on the type and dungeons things are dangerous.
*Elizabeth gives a wary scan around the place, her nerves were on edge and she was expecting more trouble.*

"No, I mean it, it has the same runes.. and the silver shine. I remember it vividly, it was yesterday after all!"
*She picks it up and opens the book. The pages are blank. Flicking through a few pages, a strange sound starts emanating from the book. Flicking back to the first page, Ink has appeared, and is writing itself in... it seems to be writing someones life story*
"Hey.. this is my life.. this book must be able to read my memories!"

*Elizabeth on the other hand was far more wary than ehr current traveling companion, her hands covering her ears a moment when the noise starts to come from it. Waiting a few moments to see if anything happens and when nothing does lowers her hands.*
You know I am already at the stage of not trusting books any more than I trust the wild life..in fact I would trust the wild life more at this rate.
*She looks over Raven's shoulder at the book watching it write out the womans memories.*
Yesterday? I am sure you are a little mistaken, we were in that house most of the day and you had another book yesterday not this one.
My head hurts....
*She says quietly under her breath.*

*Raven looks around, expecting to see a merchant come rushing over to sell her the book.. but nothing. Looking down again at the cart, various oriental ornaments and various bottles of probably useless content.. *
"Where is the merchant?"

*It is at this point in time the merchant who busy with another customer at the side of his stall hears the words Raven says and looks over to her with a smile on his face when he notices the book she has held in her hands, hoping that she would be easy to barter for a better price he starts to approach her but gives her some breathing space.*
Good evening miss, I see that book has managed to catch your interest though you must pardon by tardiness I ws busy dealing with a customer.
*His tone of voice is genuine sounding and deep and rich.*

[ModNote: Suh Wok was last seen in An Unexpected Turn of Events...] *Observing from an alleyway, Suh Wok watches the two at his stall. Seeing this merchant go over to his ex-stall, Suh Wok curses under his breath.* "Damn Merchants.. they'll try to get a sale on anything."

*Raven raises her head, snapping back to attention. She puts the book down on the stall.*
"Oh, no I was.. er.. just browsing, thanks."
*Raven flicks her eyes at Elizabeth, and turns to walk off*

*Elizabeth not one for always understanding if someone is giving a hint t some thing or not just simply sighs with relief when the book is placed back and turns to follow Raven, just looking over her shoulder a moment as her nerves became more grated and tightening slightly.*
Perhaps we should head into a store some where, I heard there is a strange woman around here. Rumors are she's a witch.

*Raven looks at Elizabeth with wide eyes*
"A REAL Witch? Wow! Sure, man.. I bet Aesandre will be green as a leprichaun!"

*Elizabeth raises a eyebrow slightly to Raven and gives a rather tense but as casual as possible shrug.*
Well that is what the rumors have said.Whether that is true or not I do not know but often said there is no smoke without fire.
*Elizabeth gives a puzzled look.*
I did not think leprechauns were green. Their clothing yes but not themselves.
*She waves a hand int he air a moment as a waft of incense smoke invade her nose.*
Any way she is a shop owner I think was said so perhaps better looking away from the stalls perhaps?

*Marjorie, a local woman, has overheard the recent exchange between Raven and the (As Yet) Unnamed Merchant. Striding up to the Unnamed Merchant, she jabs a finger at him.*
Marjorie: Shame on you, mugwump! That stall belongs to the Chinaman, Su Hok. He's only been away since this morning, and you're passing his stock off as your own!
