*She shakes her head slightly with a laugh bringing her hands up against his chest and pushing him back quickly side stepping so that she puts a couple of smaller shelves in between them.*
Well you obviously seem to need a soaking in very cold water but getting out of the shop for a couple of hours would be very welcoming.

*Leans on the shelf and gently kissis Catherine.*
"You know Catherine my dear. You have a head for buissness. The face of an Angle but a body that was made for Sin."

[ModNote: Continued from A room for the night.] Twenty five minutes later, two gentlemen found themselves outside a rather well kept shop in the middle of the marketplace square. 'Well, guess this is the place' said Jules redundantly. He was still shaken by the fact that a day had been taken from them in the space of an instance, and even though he felt physically reinvigorated, he was still feeling somewhat unsteady perception-wise. 'Better get this over with, I suppose...'

"Jules... I've been wondering..." Kenji pinched the bridge of his nose and blinked hard several times.
"I was thinking about what that chappy said.. about work... and, well.. how long is a CV supposed to be? I mean people tell me it's supposed to be less than a page but my father's goes on for five and he never had any trouble getting work.""
Kenji looked up, and his eyes were met by Jules' blank stare. He chuckled slightly and reached for the shop door's handle.
"Reckon they sell toothbrushes? I've been asleep for 24 hours, and should like to remove this taste from my mouth before it starts writing sonnets about itself."

"I wouldn't count on it. If I'd have to make a guess, I would say we're in or around the 15th or 16th century, or at least it's otherworldly dimensional counterpart. Dental hygine was something of a luxury for the general public back then."
"Along with welfare, healthcare and human rights, no doubt?" countered Kenji as they stepped through the door.
"Most likely yes. Still, it doesn't strike me as a conventional Medieval or Tudor period. The general populace seems more accepting of the unfamiliar, for one thing. I caught a few looks from passers by, and there was almost... a sense of quiet understanding."
"As opposed to wild accusations of being a witch, I assume?"
"Yes, quite."

"Just goes to show you really; A god fearing person is nowhere near as focussed and collected as a dragon fearing person," quipped Kenji as they ventured into the shop.
"Makes you wonder how much peace and prosperity our world missed out on for the want of a really good dragon now and then..." he continued.
"Some cracking barbeques too, I'll bet," smiled Julian.
Kenji ran his finger along a shelf, observing the collection of wares. His other hand was in his pocket, curled into a tight fist around a sharp stone he'd picked up in the alleyway. The hard edges and weight were reassuring, the fact that he couldn't throw for toffee seemed insignifcant. Still, better safe than sorry when being sent on myserious errands by shadowy voices...

[ModNote: Welcome back, gents. Since the last thread to feature Catherine Barter was in the Marketplace section, I've moved this thread over there from the Village section. As far as we know, it's all happening all the same day. Ms. Barter will hopefully be along soon...]

Jules looked around for any obvious signs of life, and spotted two people near the back of the shop floor area. One was a distinguished gentleman dressed in a rather fine attire, the other a young and - Julian couldn't help noticing - rather well endowed young lady.
'Ah!' he said. 'Good... morning, is it? Afternoon? Never mind. I'm looking for a Miss Catherine Barter. I'm assuming that isn't you, sir?' he added, directing this last comment to the gentleman and trying not to resist smirking.

*Catherine almost jumped at the sound of someone voice once again sounding almost too loud and clear despite Brinkatore's warning of seemingly her day off was not meant to be one. Quickly turning around to face the stranger her cheeks going from pale to bright yet dark red at the same time in seconds as she walked away from Brinkatore and to the shop counter.*
I doubt that very much, though in some circles he would probably pass off as a woman rather well and who may you be Sir?

Trying not to smirk at having the gentleman's masculinity besmirched, Julian instead focused is attentions fully upon the young woman.
'Professor Lapis, my dear. Professor Julian Lapis, and this is my collegue Edward Kenji. Fear not, we do not plan on taking up a great deal of your time. We're here to deliver some papers that we believe you're expecting.'
Julian patted his pockets, panicking briefly when he had trouble locating them. Rolling his eyes, Kenji placed the package on the counter and slid them forward.
'Ah. Well done that man,' Julian muttered in relief.

Kenji smirked, putting his hands back into his pockets and leaning against the counter.
"You think I'd let you carry your own work permit, Lenny?" he chuckled under his breath.
"I think you'll find everything's in order there miss. We didn't read them or anything, don't worry." Kenji felt Julian staring at him as he realised how suspicious his last comment had sounded. Still, further assertions that they hadn't interfered would only reinforce the impression that they had done.
"Is there anything we should tell... um...," Kenji caught Julian's eye, "what was that chap's name again? Shady ...Victor?"

*For a few moments Catherine stares blanky between the two before slowly raising a questioning eyebrow as her gaze comes down to the papers placed on the counter. One hand slowly raising and lowering to slide the papers closer to her but not opening them.*
Shady Victor? Does not sound like a appropriate name for one that should be sending me proper papers of a business like nature.

'Twit' muttered Jules under his breath. 'I'm afraid we don't know the chain smoking fellow in question, but he was rather insistant that these papers were delivered to you. As I said, we assume you were expecting them.'
'Right then! That's our work done, and seeing as how it'd probably be cheeky of us to ask you for a tip, we'll be off then!'
