Thinks: Really, Ringmaster? As I understand it from eyewitnesses, the Visage-creature revealed that you yourself had created it. It is hardly possible to take the moral high ground. *sees the Ringmaster's mood* Now, however is not the time for a confrontation.
Aloud: Really? This is a serious accusation and we will hold him for the moment, in magical manicles should it be deemed necessary. We will of course need witness statements and a trial if these foreign authorities do not arrive to collect him, but I am sure that you can produce them.
As to my later comment, you must give me grounds for suspicion Ringmaster, your behaviour towards me has been rude and evasive ever since I arrived. Usually those that behave in this way have something to hide. Nevertheless if you speak the truth and we are indeed on the same side then of course I welcome both your evidence and support.
*Sir Edmund gives a wan smile*
It is the duty of the Inquisitor to trust no-one.
Now, we are both busy men Ringmaster. I appreciate the delivery of the felon, do you have any other useful information. Have you managed, for example to translate that letter? Indeed, have you seen this 'creature of shadows' that is proving so elusive?

*RMR has calmed slightly now that Edmund seems to accept what he is saying a bit more, he decides to be serious with Edmund as the man doesn't appreciate his humour. RMR decides to share some information with Sir Edmund in the hope it'll make him a little less suspicious.*
"As it happens, yes, I did. It said "Even when I'm not around I'm in control", I managed to get a friend to translate it, we were both attack by the creature as it happens and I can give you a description of it. It was a black 'mass', in that it had the basic human shape but was entirely covered with black.
However it was certainly no human as both magic and attacks passed straight through it but when it attacked others it was quite solid. Its weapon of choice appeared to be throwing knives. I hope this is to some use in your inquisiton and will show you that i'm not alway 'evasive'.
As for Walter then I would advise those manicles and I myself can bare witness, as well as the friend who transalated the letter should we recieve summoning to the court of law. As you said we are both very busy and I will leave you to do your work with this evidence I have provided, until we next meet I wish you luck with the inquisiton."
*RMR offers out a hand to Edmund, in the hope of a handshake, perhaps now Edmund would be satisfied RMR wasn't actually a threat.*

*Sir Edmund is agreeably surprised that the Ringmaster is being so helpful, most occultologists like him object to being taken to a court of law.* In respect to Mr Walter that will be highly satisfactory, can I rely on you Ringmaster to summon your friend? Unless you give me more information about them I will find it difficult to legally summon them for a conviction. As to your description of the assasin that would certainly tie in with the evidence. Perhaps it is a magical construct of some kind? At the very least it must use some quite powerful magic to be protected from all attacks. The note sounds like a threat of some kind, although why it should be sent to you... *Something nags at the back of the Inquisitor's mind, but he can't quite work it out. Of course, Rob may be lying entirely, but the Inquisitor needs any lead possible. He extends his hand to shake, maybe they can indeed work together.* *As he grasps RMR's hand, a look of surprise crosses his face. Rob notices that he pulls his hand away a little too quickly. When he looks back at Rob, his face has hardened. But more in puzzlement than in anger* I cannot help but feel that there is something you are concealing Ringmaster. But.... perhaps you do not even know it yourself. You are a busy man. Please ask Dreevis to lock up Mr Walter and then continue with your... business. *Sir Edmund ushers the Ringmaster out rather too quickly, and as he's leaving adds.* Do not leave the area Ringmaster. You may be more linked to this than you realise. *Once Rob is gone Sir Edmund settles at his desk. He looks at his hand, rubbing the patch where the Ringmaster touched him.* So warm and cold at the same time... almost as if... *The thought dies, dismissed as preposterous by the dominant, rational side of Sir Edmund's mind. Nevertheless, he is a full three minutes late to inspect the troops. Dreevis knows by now that for Sir Edmund, this indicates a deep disturbance* [ModNote: Locksley next features in The Aftermath.]

*The Ringmaster informs Dreevis and assures her that should she need to contact Midnight, though he doesn't use her name, for the legal process he will inform her and will do all he can to help with the Inquistion. Then he walks out back into the hustle and bustle of daily Wolfenden life, feeling a little different. He decides he'll obey what Edmund wanted of him for the time being, he has no need to draw too much suspicion to himself in case this assassin decides to harm anyone close to him.* [ModNote: Continued in The Aftermath.]
