apologies for the overly long delay. Time to wind down this year and a half long thread and get back underway...*Half lost in thought and still looking out over the horizon that Hands had disappeared over.* Indeed... The thing is...... what do we do now....? *He turns to face Her, the end of the rolled up painting he took from the house jutting out slightly from the pouches amongst his belt and kit.* He do you propose we put out a fire that spans farther than the eye can see? A forest fire so big that it would take thousands of laboured people to control.....? *His hands held open and outward and an intellectually defeated expression on his face.* As it has always been said:- 'We are WATCHERS...' Not Sorcerors with the power of flight or the speed of a seige-engine round. How do you propose we get out of THIS?!?

*She only stands there for a few minutes in silence taking in his words, her brain taking more time than it really should to process such words but she couldn't give in, not yet. They may not of been old enough, strong enough to save their people but they could some how save what was left of them.*
*The speed of flight? She raised a eyebrow slightly as she turned around scanning the area briefly then turning back to him a slight smile on her lips and a light in her eyes not seen for a long time she reached forward tugging the dragon painting gently out from his kit.*
We may not be able to but I have a idea of something that can.
*With that she simply turns around and begins to walk off the painting held tightly in her hands.*

Huh? *His own mind taking even longer to catch up with her thoughts. All that Coriolis can do is fall into step behind Her like a confused Collie Dog. The only thing He knew was that His Sister was walking back in the direction of the ruined Citadel.* Continued a few minutes later - 'Here be Dragons...'

*Frustrated at his own lack of understanding and in no small part, 'Midnight' refusing to tell him anything. The sometimes insufferable girl simply smiling at his repeated questions. Coriolis continues to walk with His Sister along the charred streets of Arios...*
Where the heck are you taking us Lass? What's that half cat brain of yours cooked up THIS time?!?

*She simply continues to smile as she walks along giving her head a slight shake at her own brothers lack of memory and own stupidity at times. The shake causing small clouds of ash and dust to fall from her dirty hair now a misture of dark grey and brown rather than her normal black.*
It's quite simple really brother and if you can't think it up yourself guess I am going tohave to show you.
*With the slight teasing tone in her voice she picks up the pace the strain of the last few days disappeared from her posture as she actually laughs the almost childlike sound only just being heard over the fire.*

*... and once again in a fit of deja vu or possibly just the convenient breaths of 'Tannen', the small god of repeating cycles, the pair turn down ONE specific street toward ONE specific door.*
*By now, that door was more than a little worse for wear. Sylvesters entrance, the Alzan assasins and simply the decrepit nature of that tortured piece of wood all conspiring to make it a mere splintered shadow of its former self...*
*sighs* Ok.... We're back here again. Are you actually going to TELL me what this grand scheme is or am I just to wait for the little voices in my head to give me that honour? Your Mothers water supply may have saved the furniture from an occasional singeing but it isn't going to be much use against the raging phoenix we have coming this way...

*She smirks slightly.*
You know I always did suspect you had voices talking to you. That explains a lot really.
*She walks through the doorway slowing her pace slightly, her footsteps suddenly becoming lighter knowing one heavy footstep or misplaced foot could cause more damage to the house and them. *
*This time instead of heading up stairs she walks into what was once the kitchen and begins to look at the dust , dirt and debris covered floor looking rather daft as she placed her foot on each piece of wood tapping it as hard as she dared to listening for a slightly different sound to what she was hearing over and over again. *
*She opened up the picture in her hands looking at it carefully then smiled faintly though with a look of concentration on her face she altered her tone slightly and began to speak in a rather strange language slowly , deliberatly to remember the little of the language her mother had began to teach her not long before the attack on Arios. The dragon slowly started to glow as she continued to speak still walking aound the kitchen tapping her foot on the floor it started to appear that perhaps she had, had several too many knocks to her head.*

*He merely stands in the doorway, looking at Her with a growing impatience at Midnights strange behaviour. If he'd thought about it amongst the carnage, a hand would probably be making it's way down his face in that universal gesture of 'oh for goodness sake!'* *Having had enough, He marches across the floor toward Her. Being in a place like this when it was being burned to the ground wasn't a good idea if someone wanted to keep their faculties on the mortal plane.* [Almost screaming] RHIANNON!!! *A point of the quartestaff hits the wooden floor with a resounding [glow=red,2,300]CRACK![/glow]...*

*She doesn't seem to hear the scream of her brother at her but she hears the sound of the quaterstaff going through the floor, the sound catching her attention.*
Ah ha! You found it! Whether you meant to or not is completely unimportant.
*She seems to remain in the ratehr strange behaviour taking his quaterstaff from him and proceeding to tap on the floor surrounding the hole the wood starting to break away easily from it's weakened state of years of misuse.. The hole gradually getting big enough for her to slide a arm through she drops the quaterstaff to the floor and kneels down sliding her arm though it and feeling around on the underneath of the floor a small almost inaudible click can be heard and the sound of several pieces of wood being dragged against other pieces then falling to what ever lays beneath qith quiet thuds and echoes. The piece of floor she was kneeling on seems to go out from under her a whosh of air , a short cry out of surprise then a heavy thud.*
I forgot about that bit.

More fool you! *Retrieving the staff. He steps off the edge into the hole below. A change to feline form in mid-air and He hits the ground with a heavy but reasonably dignified 'thump', on his paws as well for good measure...* *Returning to a more vertical form he squints into the dim light around him and a surprised expression appears...* Hold on a second... I know this...! *He points down the tunnel excitedly* You can get to the Den from here. The tunnel joins about 40 paces further on and heads east toward the old cellars. *He turns to Her, a hint of mischief in His stance.* I didn't always need FADE to spy on what you were doing. The Citadel had more hiding places than either of us could ever hope to find... *His voice changes, edgey and more than a little worried.* Where the heck are you taking us, lass?

*The glowing dragon parchment had fallen to the floor in her fall she picked it up slowly and began shaking the dust of it as she stood up brushing her hair out of her face and trying to tody up her clothing though the dirt, dust ash and leaves and twigs caught iin it just causes a small cloud so she quickly gives up and narrows her eyes slightly trying to remember directions she had long forgotten. The memories were slowly coming back but some times it took her to do something to remember it properly until then it was something from a dream fuzzy, hazy and just out of reach of beeing touched.*
*She looked around then lifting her head slightly and inhaling deeply trying to smell something in the air. The tunnel air was cool almost damp to be in.*
Mother brought me down here a couple of times during one of my private lessons. I'm not exactly sure where I am taking us exactly I just remember something imporant was down one of these tunnels. Though possibly quite a distance a hour or twos walk at your pace...
*She smirks slightly then taking cautious steps begins to head off in the opposite direction he had pointed.*
These tunnels were built before the citadel then added to over the years as we expanded but only a few people knew about them...or found out about them by their own means...
*Casts a suspicious glance at Coriolis.*
I am sure you probably found them by the latter.
*She smirks slightly then reaches down pulling some fabric of her clothing a thin piece of fabric then ties it into a loose knots with space between and ties her hair back from her face.*
It's going to take me a week of bathing to be rid of the dirt and smell.
*She wrinkles her nose slightly.*

*A small smile and something resembling a Gallic shrug* We were trained to be explorers. That make it a bad thing for me to wonder down the rabbit hole and see what I can see? *Chuckles* I must admit, I'm surprised you never figured out who was ACTUALLY doing the larder raids that Diana gave you hell for! Your Mum was a damn good cook... *Coughs amongst the cloud of dust and follows after Her down the fork in the tunnel. Making longing looks and quiet promises to get back to the Den for a look around as He goes. Where they were going he wasn't sure and Rhiannon was right, the catacombs ubder the citadel went for miles.* *It used to be said that an unwary traveller could get lost down here and never again see the sunlight. Granted, it was also said that, if you walked far enough, you'd end up at the opposite end of the realm among the mountains...* Think of it like this Sis. If you manage to pull something out of a hat and get us through this in one piece, I'll throw you into the Sword River myself...

*She laughed quietly.*
Oh I don't plan to pull anything out of a hat, a hat would be too small for what I'm looking for. I just have to hope I can remember everything and that what I'm looking for is where it should be and I can throw myself in the Sword River myself without your help thank you very much.
*She smiles slightly then goes quiet, the only sounds for long minutes that turns into about a hour is the sound of their foot steps on the floor and the odd swish of fabric from their clothing.*
*After a while of passing through various passages and passing others by with little to no notice the approach a fork in the proverbial road , one passage getting lighter in the distance obviously leading out some where into the countryside and the other was a tunnel getting wider and taller but darker. Rhiannon briefly paused looking in one direction then the other and headed to the darker tunnel not exactly sure that this was the right way but sense and knowledge told her it was....hopefully*
*With a inaudible sigh she cast a glance back at her brother hoping he was following behind her. Their travel took another hour before entering what appeared to be a large empty cavern that had no other way out but a hole in the wall almost the size of a large house indicated another cavern similar to the one they were already in.*
*She turned to her brother a moment.*
You may want to think of umm hiding some where...perhaps in the shadows as you normally do and what ever you do don't coming running and screaming immediately on the attack. right?

*Quirks an eyebrow at Her comment. What in hell could live in a cavern like THIS..* Erm...? As you wish... *He FADEs from view and takes a few steps back from Her. Random thoughts and memories flashing through his mind at speed.* *The Parchment, Diana's pastime as a 'Trainer' of....?, the cavern, the painting.... oh no!* [Shouting] RHIANNON! You bloody Panther! Not THIS! *The ground started to rumble and rocks started to shake loose from the caverns roof. Something was coming out to meet them...*

*She glanced back in the generally direction of her brothers voice.*
Give me an alternative and then we wouldn't have to but we don't have any choice unless you plan on putting that fire out by running to the sword river and back a few hundred times and stop yelling you'll just frustrate it.
*Rhiannon changes her stance slighty as rocks started to fall down from the cavern roof most only small pieces but steadily growing bigger as what ever was approaching them grew closer turning back to facing the second cavern, standing up right , her head held upwards proudly but yetslightly nervously as the first part of the creature came into view a rather large set of talons...Rhiannon gulped slightly.*
and what ever you do brother...don't intervene.
*She kept her gaze focused on the cavern as the creature inside lowered it's head, some cracks appearing in the ground at it did so from all the movement..*
*A dark blue scaled neck appearing first leading up to brilliant blue eyes, a white under neck thet lead to varying shades of blue stomach, sharpt teeth and along snout came into her vision and she gulped again trying to remember the procedure ahead of her as the dragon slowly came closer and out of the second cavern. She refused to take a step back despite the sudden wave of fear coursing through her.*
*She tilted her head back a little more to be sure to looking up to the dragons head. The dragonleaned down slightly opening it's mouth properly until it was just a couple of inches from her head then took in a deep heavy breath breathing in her scent. Rhiannon blinked slightly and had to stop herself from falling to the ground in fear by sheer force of will merely hoping her brother would remain in place.*
