*The growl She gets in return bordering on open hostility. Coriolis himself also starting to go a little "stir crazy" from being trapped in the so called "Cold Room".* Will you please just SHUT THE HELLS UP!!!!! Right now, I've no idea if we've been in here 10 minutes or 10 days. I don't know if it's day, night or if we're trapped in a phase shift of somekind. For all the nothingness that I DO know, that damned Dragon of Hers *He pointed at Rhiannon* has levelled the buildings above and we're buried beneath! Getting mixed up with that bastard loverboy o' yours was a big mistake and now we're trapped in here like the prize of some sick game. So we have 2 options... We can sit here, do nothing and just wait for whatever horrors are being lined up... Or we can prepare ourselves. For the hopeful chance of rolling the dice against whatever sharp and pointy objects are out there... Make your choice, Lass. This isn't going to be MY tomb... *He got up and headed for the almost invisible outline of the door. Pulling the Dirk free from its scabbard and jamming it into the cracks in an attempt to widen them. There had to be some way of getting out of this place, surely?!?*

(OOC: Sorry sorry sorry I did it again! seriously, my life feels like it's phase shifting at the moment, time is going by so quickly...! Anyways, I'm back, and hopefully, it won't take me over 2 months to post a response ) *Lady Mercury took a deep breath, inhaling and then releasing it slowly. She allowed her frustration to dissipate then moved over to where Coriolis was hacking at the door with his knife.* "I'm sorry," She said quietly, "I took my frustrations and anger out on you. That was wrong of me and I'm sorry. Given your feelings towards Leytan, I can understand how unhappy you are with being stuck in here at the behest of his kin." *Lady Mercury moved to stand next to Coriolis, and went to put a hand on his shoulder, but then thought better of it, given his current mood* "However, I think if you want the guard's attention, you're hacking in the wrong direction." *Lady Mercury's eyes seemed to have a mischievous gleam to them for a moment, then it was gone* "So, how do you feel about trying to injure me? That might get their attention"

(OOC:- hehe. Don't worry about it. Welcome back. ) *The Dirk blade stops abruptly in mid-swipe as Coriolis head swivels around to look at Her while the rest of him stays still.* INJURE... you? INJURE the only healer we currently have? *The incredulity of his voice rising with each word.* You want me, a WATCHER, under oath to only fight in defense, to have a crack at slitting your throat?!? *A chuckle follows a wry grin. A mask over an unknown number of emotions.* I think you have me mistaken for somebody else. I'm not known for my lipstick covered gills. I don't kill for the joy of it. I LIVE for the joy of it. Think up another plan... *He goes back to slowly digging his way through the door...*

(OOC: Thanks I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed RPing ) *For a second, Lady Mercury's face had an incredulous expression on it that quickly dissolved into mirth* "Lipstick covered gills?! I have to admit, that's the first time I've heard Leytan called that! Mind you, he probably wouldn't take too kindly to being called that!" *Lady Mercury's smile vanished as she took on board what Coriolis had just said* "And I just stuck my foot in it again by suggesting you attack me didn't I? I think today might be the day I use my quota of apologies!" *Lady Mercury's eyes widened slightly and she dived over to where her cloak was, rooting around in what seemed like an endless supply of pockets* "How about we set their cold room on fire?! That should get some attention!" Lady Mercury said with a grin

*If She could have heard the alarm bells that started ringing in his head, She'd have been deaf within seconds...* You're gonna do WHAT?!?! *The Dirk, as if with a life of its own, shot past Her arm to thunk heavily into the bedhead beyond Her. The almost panicking Watcher it had left, standing there with his eyebrows into his hairline and his eyes damn near popping out of his head.* WE'RESTILLINTHEDAMNCOLDROOM! I've already had way too many Dreamers and Dragons try to set me on fire. You're not gonna even THINK about it! *He rounds on Her rapidly. Partly heading to retrieve his blade, partly climbing the walls like a scared cat caught in a Goldfish bowl...*

(OOC: Sorry, I lost internet access for a bit.)
*Lady Mercury let out a yelp of fright as the knife slammed into the bedhead behind her*
"Watch where you throw that thing!" She snapped at Coriolis, unaware of the effect that her words had on him.
"I'm not talking about setting the whole room on fire, just enough to get their attention. Other than screaming for help, I really can't see any other way out of this room, other than waiting for them to open the door, which for all we know, they might not be planning to do!"
*Lady Mercury reached out and tugged the knife out of the bedhead then offered it to Coriolis to take back*

*One hand closes around the pommel of his offered blade. The other closing around the cloth of Her collar as He slowly, gently but purposely lifted the young Woman to her feet. Perhaps an inch higher...* [Spoken slowly and softly. The measured tone of a frustrated schoolmaster] Fire is a mixture of fear and anger... Like both, it can consume and destroy anything that gets too close. "Anything" includes people like us... Your job is to keep my step-sister alive and well. I intend to leave this room in an exceptional hurry with two exceptional Women. The alternative is that I leave here with two tragic corpses. Do you understand? *He pulls the Dirk from Her hand and tosses it into a half turn. Catching it by the blade end before returning the weapon unceremoniously to its scabbard.

Midnight had no idea how much time had passed since her collapse in the forests, or had it been within the shelter of a sweet smelling out house? She could not recall anything bar the scents of her previous stops and some haunting nightmares that lingered in her subconscious, trying to rouse her to stir and bring her out of the pleasant darkness that surrounded her. She felt as if she was floating within a world that contained no world. It was comforting for it had no worries, no dangers and was bliss because she was currently ignorant of anything else that was going on around her.
Voices started to seep into her sanctuary , started to draw her out of the darkened halls her shattered mind had wrapped her in and began to fill her brain with small details. Scents began to sink into her brains, her brothers scent the strongest and most recognized, then Leytans lady friend before the scent of utter confusion caused her eyes to flicker open. The air was missing something. It was missing something seemingly vital to her. She felt a burning sensation along the wrist of her right hand and started to move it out from under the covers.
She made a brief mental note of the bandages that were tightly wrapped around it and seemed indifferent to it briefly though she remembered vague chills and fire that had run along her form. The lack of a smell or the lack of sensing something had her attention most...if only she could put her finger on it.
"Why does the air smell so strange...?"
She murmured quietly perhaps not over heard with her brothers voice suddenly seeming to fill the room.

*As Coriolis lifted Lady Mercury to her feet by the collar, one had came up and rested lightly around the wrist that held her*
"What you say is true, however, whilst fire can be dangerous, it is also life, for without fire, there is no warmth, no light, only the cold emptiness of darkness..." For a fraction of a second, her eyes seemed filled with anguish, but that only lasted an instant. *
"And I understand your wishes, I'd like us all to leave here, and not return, however, I am worried that whilst we may leave here, we won't get very far before the guards catch us. I get the impression that were we to escape from here, well, I don't think we can expect to be on Leytan's kin's present list for quite some time", she said with a wry smile.
*Although Lady Mercury missed what Midnight had said, she did notice that Midnight had moved her arm, and swiftly headed over there*
"Midnight, can you hear me? Are you awake?" she asked quietly

Midnight's eyes looked up into what almost seemed to be a mirror image for a few seconds. Dark hair framed a pale face and blue eyes stared back at her. Her eyes could not bring the image into sharp. clear focus instead the woman was a blurry water colour. The smaller details one hazy smudge
"I believe I can answer in the affirmative on both of those questions though I wish I could answer other wise.. "
She lifted the injured arm up after peeling it from beneath the blankets and brought her relatively glazed gaze upon the woman once more.
"So why does the air smell so strange?"

*Lady Mercury frowned slightly at the glazed look on Midnight's face, and her question*
"The air smells strange? Well, we're currently in some strange chamber which blocks magic, and is referred to as a cold room, though I admit, I can't tell any difference in the air, how about you Coriolis?"

*Fighting the urge to check his own armpits...* How in all the hells should I know? You two are the heavy magic users... *He Speaks quickly, accelerating as time goes on* Rhi, within the last day (so far as I can tell) we've been to an execution, rescued multiple waifs and strays, had half the damn realm chasing us, scared the excrement out of a chariot team, supposedly conversed with the gods, fought 2 dragons, flown around the place on another, been beaten, sliced with blades, scorched, sneered at, fallen from height, raced through the snow, taken on a Winterian hunting party, bickered amongst ourselves, fallen into a coma, been taken prisoner, escaped, been taken prisoner again, vandalised a songbirds private parlour and then locked up down here in this little hellhole of a glass jar. *Breathes in.* None of this in any particular order... You just be happy that you're back in the land of the living and able to smell anything at all. We still need to get out of here and far away in a really big hurry.

[ModNote: Continued from The Hunt.] *Once Aaron had stepped through the house threshold he felt a wave of nervousness wash over him. The Princess had been on many hunts before animal and human alike. So far none had ended in any death because they had been exercise hunts. She had always caught her prey with minimal injuries but they had certain restrictions and respect for her this one he felt was perhaps as compassionate as a brick , as respectful as a boar and as controlled as a troll but the Princess ahd just given him the permission to hunt ehr as she hunted him. He knew the man would not survive if he truly killed the Princess but none the less the risk she was taking was enormous and for once he did not know what he plans were truly rooted within.
None the less he did as he was ordered and made his way to Leytans room, his heavy hand knocking on the door three times despite the fact that Leytan could not actually escape but he felt that his once pupil deserved that.
The faint squeak of the key turning int he lock would be heard before the door opened and Aaron stepped into the room.*
"Your blood kin has inherited your stubbornness. I am not sure I recall any of your parentage having as much as the pair of you combined let alone separately. "
*A brief look of genuine concern crossed behind his eyes a moment though clear to Leytan.*
"I hope you can tell me your friend will be wise enough not to badly harm or kill her."

Back in the cold room....
Midnight looked up to Lady Mercury a moment.
"That explains much. It is like inhaling the scent of a favored meal that is missing a vital ingredient. "
She looked over to her brother as he appeared to begin to ramble and his words seemed to spill out of his mouth in a rapid torrent of reminders and memories before coming to a complete yet quite clearly inpatient full stop.
"So you were planning on ....which method of escape this time..?"

*Lady Mercury frowned slightly as she considered Coriolis' words*
"We may be the heavy magic users, but something in here is blocking my knowledge of the arcane... To be honest, the sooner I have access to my magic again, the better!"
*Looking at Midnight, she spoke with a wry smile*
"Well, we don't seem to have managed to get very far with the escaping part of the plan, I suggested that your brother and I have a mock fight, or I could set a fire going, but he doesn't seem keen on those ideas..."
