*She watches Leytan a moment noting the rather strange name before nodding her head slightly. Her head tilting tothe side as she notices the look crossing over his face she slowly heads towards the door as the guard enters the room. Pausing a moment as she turns back to face Leytan.*
I will inform her of what has happened and I will see you tomorrow Leytan.
*She slowly turns and gives one final pause.*
I hope what ever happens to you after wards....your soul finds some kind of peace.
*She then slowly passes through the door not giving him a true chance to respond feeling her eyes stinging more strongly than before and not wanting to distract him from his thoughts or upset him more.*
*She passed the guard who had let her in and gave her head a slight nod in thanks as she took a deep breath and left the jail completely her gaze coming to the setting sun.*
Twelve hours.....

*about an hour or so after Midnight had left. The Cheif Jailer came down to see his prisoner. He enterd the condemed cell and looked at Leytan solomnly* "I have to infrom you that your last appeal for clemancy has been denied." *Leytan looked blankly at the jailer & said in a matter of fact tone* "I never enterd one." *The jailer showed Leytan a letter he was carrying.* "No but someone from Winteria did. Someone from the royal family no less. Said as since you were of Winterian Blood and that that blood was that of the roya family you should be returned to Winteria and placed in the jail there. But the local Judge has ruled aginst it." *He turned briskly and left. Leytan watched him go and then looked back out of the window of his cell. The sun was all but set.* 10 Hours........... *Rhiannon slowly headed to a close by wooded area that was close enough to the jail that she could keep a eye on the door way for if movements were to happen earlier than expected. As she stepped onto the shadowed grass she slowly switched back to her animal form and did some thing she had not done in a long time. She hunted, her hunegr strong but she had litle to no gold now and the need to eat was strong. Her dinner turned out to be a couple of ratehr plump rabbits, and though the human side of her did not enjoy the fact of killing ANYTHING. the panther form savoured the hunt that it had not had for so long, the thrill of the catch and the easing of the hunger as the raw meat was torm apart and chewed.*
*She gace her lips a lick before climbing into one of the trees , ehr black fur giving her perfect coverage with the growing and darkening shadows spreading around ehr as night fell and progressed. She took very short cat naps saving her energy for when she knew she would need it tomorrow. She kept this up for several hours before she stirred awake completely her blue gaze focusing on the long closed door of the jail. The only lights now the few flickering torches clinging to the outer walls of various buildings. *
*The only sounds that filled the air was the sounds of the night life animals who had managed to escape her earlier forage through the woods and the very brief regular foot steps of a guard walking through the city. *
*Rhiannon hated being unable to do anything at all, so she did the only thing she could, she watched, she prayed and she also mourned. For the loss of her brother and the coming loss of Leytan. Tilting her head back and closing her eyes she let out a deep, rumbling almost howl into the star flecked sky the sound echoing witht he sudden noise. A brief frensy of movement happening around the trees as animals suddenly dived for safety.*
*Whether Leytan heard the howl or not she would never find out bu she some what hoped he would know that on this night he had at least one person that truely dreaded the sun rising as much as he probably did and that she stood guard over him as much as she could.*
*Her howls remaining long and mournful sounding though no one seemed disturbed by the sounds as no one shouted for there to be silence and no one came looking for what was causing the noise.*
*Five hours until dawn.....*

*At the opposite end of town, in the trough between a pair of thatched rooftops, a certain striped Feline snored quietly as it managed a much sounder slumber than His darker Sister.* *There was no need for him to hunt, Fade was a handy thing to have when the market was in town. An apple here, a little cheese there, maybe a little bacon from over there. Never more than what the Traders expected to lose to the street urchins anyway but more than enough to make a hearty meal on the fly.* *Gorged and for a rare moment comfortable. The cat slept on its back in the makeshift cradle... or at least it would if there wasn't some Night Stalker making such a bloody racket! He was going to have to find Rhiannon sooner rather than later. At least She had the nack of diverting the local waifs attention on to Her so He could get some peace to get on with the duty...* *The Moon was low, it was 4 hours to Dawn...*

Post by Vyrrian Wren on Jun 10, 2007 21:39:50 GMT
In a cosy highway Inn just over ten miles away from Warlock, Vyrrian Wren lay unable to sleep.
His body was fatigued, crying out for the relief that only lie in slumber, but his mind was a maelstrom of thoughts, so loud that they bordered on the deafening. No matter how many times he reached the same conclusions, they were drowned out by a torrent of others, daring him to defy them. It was torment. Even the drink he had taken throughout the evening had done nothing to silence them and bring to him the peace he sought.
Finally, as if reaching some monumental truth at long last, he sat bolt upright, proceeded to throw on his cloak, and run downstairs two at a time with the intention of stealing the fastest horse he could find from the Inn's stable.
Three hours to Dawn...

*The night was starting to lighten back in Warlock, the dark midnight blue colour gradually becoming paler and paler, as the sun started to come closer and closer to rising. The black furred feline jumped down from the branch heading a little further into the little wooded area and bathing in a very small stream in her animal form to rinse away the dust and mud and to awaken herself properly for the day coming. She was going to need all the energy she could muster and then once noon of the day was passed she would begin the trip to Winteria and give news to Leytans family.*
*The stars slowly faded from view as Rhiannon stepped out of the stream and shook for a few minutes to rid her thick fur of the water before changing to her physical form easily and treading silently back o the tree she was at before. Life had already began to stir in the city, early risers and those who worked began to mill about and of course those who seemed eager to be at the front of the display of Leytans death began to head to wards the gallows already. Rhiannon knew he did not have long left..not enough by a long shot. Various ideas were thrown together in her mind and we re promptly dismissed again as she went over the various flaws in each of them.*
*Where was a man like Leytan when you needed one she briefly mused...oh yes in the jail currently. She began to comb her fingers through her damp hair as her gaze came back to the door of the jail, the act more a soothing act than one of vanity. Trying to calm her slowly beating faster heart as she started to wards the city gallows where the crowd was already starting to gather.*
*She made a promise and she was going to keep it..if it was the last thing she could do.*
*Two hours until dawn.*

*Meanwhile in his cell Leytan had awoken from his sleep. For a condemed man he had slept very well and was relaxed and alert for his appoinmant with the hangman.* *He got up and washed his face with the water provided by the gaurds. A Little while later 2 more gaurds came and moved him and 3 other prisoners due to hang that morning (2 men and 1 Women) to a waitng cell.* *From here the condemed would be taken to a waiting Horse drawn cart which would carry them to the gallows in the village square.* {1 Hour Till Dawn} [ModNote: Continued in The Day Of The Hanging.]
