Lanesra: Wolfenden? It's just... here. Maybe some men slew some of the wolves in the Wolfglade woods, felt very pleased with themselves and decided to build a village in honour of it. Men are like that. Will you be sitting down?

Flaccus blinked a bit and mumbled something about humans and their weird ways. "I doubt this chair would hold my weight, and I did not plan on staying for long . .. just waiting for my brother to make up his mind about something and stop bothering me . . . Y'know, I am surprised you aren't freaked out about talking to a 'giant lizard'. I take it that you have alot of weird guests here?"

Lanesra: Sir, if talking freaked me out, I'd be little use as a tavern maid! And yes, we have many weird guests here, but as long as they pay for their drinks, and avoid spilling blood or knocking down walls, they are welcome guests. Would you care for another ale?

Flaccus was about to say "yes" when he remembered how his brother loathed his drinking . . . and how Addis loves shadowmagic. Flaccus sighed and said "Normally I would, but I have things to do . . . " He was about to leave, when he remembered what he was supposed to be doing, other than drinking. "Say, anything weird happening around here? White or Red Robed mages walking the streets with groups of knights?"

Lanesra: Before you leave, a gold piece for your drink, please, Sir!
*While waiting for the payment, Lanesra answers the customer's question.*
Lanesra: The only red-robed mage hereabouts is Hordriss the Confuser - though I think he prefers blue robes these days. Even so, he's not been seen about Wolfenden for some time. And groups of knights? The knights of this realm tend to go round alone, as do the would-be knights. Interesting of you to ask: do you know something I don't?

Flaccus' jaw drops when he hears of a local Red Robe. He shakes it off and hands Lanesra a gold piece. "T- Thanks. I'll be going now . . " Flaccus walks really quickly out the door, his eyes darting left and right, expecting the whole Conclave to jump him. [OOC: Flaccus is going somewhere, but I don't know yet lol. Going to edit this with his destination tomorrow.] [ModNote: Flaccus is next seen here.]

Lanesra: Farewell! *As he leaves, it suddenly occurs to Lanesra that he might have been the 'freaky dragon hybrid' that Julian and Ed were shooting firemarbles at earlier through the window. If so, then it's fortunate that his time inside the tavern didn't cause any trouble. Meanwhile, at the bar, Slevela is showing her boss the bounty poster that Shadow Voice dropped off earlier in the day. [OOC: Pages 3-4 of Drinkers, Linkers and Thinkers.] Owen takes it in with a frown.* Owen: It's true. Leytan was all set to swing, but he somehow escaped, with two cohorts and two other prisoners. They caused a riot in the process. I was off looking for the Bodkin Brothers, but Grimwold saw it all. Slevela: So the scroll's genuine? Owen: Oh no. What it says is true, but if it was delivered as early in the day as you say, I don't see how this scroll can be the real McGrew. The time it would take get the bounties organised, then the scroll written and produced... Slevela: So how...? Owen: I don't know. But it doesn't matter, because it's not going up. Slevela: Why? Owen: One, Warlock's town fathers have no authority here, across the border. Their criminals are their problem. Two, most of the folk we get in here can't read. And three, people don't come here to read! This is a pub, not a library. It is a place of news, but spoken news. Slevela: It's all very well telling me that. But if Smoke-For-Brains comes back... Owen: Then he can have a go at answering to me. And an ogre's club. Talking of which, Grimwold had better get here soon if he expects to be paid. *The staff turn their attention to various tasks around the tavern. The piper plays Yellow Submarine.*

((OOC: So sorry, internet issues have prevented me from getting back on track with things here. I'll hopefully be on a little more regularly from now on.))
'...and worse looking too.'
This was music to Kenji's ears. He instantly slid into a wry grin, and assumed a more relaxed posture.
'Is that so? You flatter us my dear. May I be so bold as to -' was as far as he got before he felt a sharp pointed sensation upon the small of his leg. He grimaced but, taking the hint, fell silent and took to looking at the floor instead.
'Do I take it from your silence that you 'want your space'? Hmph. Men from another realm you may be, but you're still men. Well, call me when you're ready for more drink.'
Kenji watched the retreating figure with a look of longing, then turned back to Julian, shooting daggers.
'What the bloody hell did you do that for? I was only-'
'I know what you were doing, Edward Kenji. And while we're still getting our bearings, I think it would be wise to not indulge that libidenous streak of yours. Besides-'
Jules beckoned to the tavern's newest arrivals.
'Look familiar?'
'Sweet Raptor Jesus' gibbered Kenji. 'It's the dragon.'
'Quite so. I think we should relocate to a quieter place of lodgings for the forseeable future. The prospect of grudges does not appeal to me right now.'
'Sound counsel. Shall we?'
The top dropped a few of their precious coins onto the table and, making the littlest of fanfare possible, hastily left the Heifer.

*When Julian and Kenji got out into the street outside the Heffier it was bussaling as normal.*
Kenji: "Well where shall we seek aboude for the evening??
*Kenji enquired...but before Julian could ansrew something caught his eye, something that was both bizzar, curriois and slightly un-nerveing all at the same time.*
*There in the ally way just to their left was a figure dressed all in white, ordinery enough exept for the fact that his face was obscured by what appered to be a a shroud of the sort that is laid over the face of a recently deccsed corpse.*
*This mysterious and somewhat creepy figure was lurking just out of sight of the main street but in full view of Julian and Kenji and what was more its right arm was out streched to them and it was makeing a beckoning motion with its hand indicating it wished them to follow it.*

They watched the ghostly apparition with slightly alarmed and bemused expressions, not daring to say anything. Finally Kenji spoke.
'I think we should follow him, Chief.'
'I'm not going to follow him, Kenji. I don't even know who he is!'
'He's white, glowing, and quite possibly reanimated. I think he wouldn't be asking unless he had a good reason.'
The figure slowly turned and began flowing along the alley. It moved with a grace and elegance that was unlike anything Jules and Kenji had ever seen, as though it were floating above the cobblestones.
'Come on, after it!' yelled Kenji, bolting towards the alley entrance. Jules rolled his eyes, prayed to whatever passing deity who was listening that this pursuit would end in a dryer place than last time, and quickly followed his colleague.

*The two men chased the apperition into the ally way and caught just a glimps of it dissapering round another corner.*
Kenji: "Quick there........It gose"
*Kenji & Julian resumed their pursuit unaware that they were being used as pwans and that the chessmasters were many realms away observeing their every move.*
*In this other realm two figures, a man and a woman, dressed in long flowing white and gold robes bserved Kenji and Julain's pursuit threw a spy mirror.*
Man: "Yes...yes these two will do nicely as candiadates."
Woman: "I agree either of them will make supurbed body print replacments."
Man: Hopefully the lord regenet can hold on long enough to complet the procedure.
Woman: Indeed....Any news on the nature and origans of the object that has entrapped him??
Man: No...we are still attempting to analyise what little data we and the inhabiatnas of that realm have aquired.
Woman: *looking back at the screen.* "Juts hold on a little longer Lord Trou help is comeing."
