It seems no one can handle the drink tonight.
*Mutters Midnight as FK lunges forward and misses her. She dismisses the idea of asking who he is again as it is unlikely that she will get a answer or at least a coherent one. Midnight decides to move a couple of steps as FK gets a little to close for comfort and feels her foot brush against something. Looking down she spots a club that one of the goblins must of dropped in there hurry to escape. Placing her dagger back she slowly picks up the club.*
*Hoping that with the alcohol in FK's system he will be to slow to react she goes to clobber him over the head......but at the same time as she hits him........*

*...The piper starts playing again - a catchy tune known as 'Sabre Dance'. [OOC: There's a pun in there somewhere...] Whether this affects the confrontation at all remains to be seen.*

*When struck, FK feels a few things. Firstly, the sensation that he appears to be hearing music all of a sudden, secondly, the feeling that he is being watched, and last but not least, he's feeling a lot of pain*
*FK recoils and takes a few seconds to gather his bearings*
This isn't really my day. I'll give one more try. As they say, third time lucky...
*FK menacingly swoops (and staggers) towards Midnight in the hope of finally defeating this adversary- intoxicated or not*

*George begins to come round. He notices he's missing a club, and some goblins. Too much in pain to move right now, George can only watch at FK's attempts to capture (or kill) his opponents Midnight and Madmogsue*
*George then had a thought. He didn't usually have many per day, besides remembering to open his mouth before eating, and to remember that when eating his favourite food (fishheads, as it turns out), that there can be some nasty bones. Anyway, the thought simply was 'Where are Grippa and Rhark?' Did they go with the goblins? Are they still outside? Did FrightKnight tell them to go?....*
*All of this thinking tired out George sufficiently to doze a little. Whatever the owners may think of a fight in the Heifer (although it does tend to bring in extra entertainment), the sight of a goblin in the corner puts customers right off their ale, and that doesn't go down well*

*As the piper starts playing again Midnight feels a difference in the air. As if someone is watching her. She quickly scans the room, yes she is being watched but its as if a more intense gaze has fallen onto the fighting pair. While her gaze travels the room she peeks out the window and sees that night has fallen. The hair on the back of her neck stands up and she fights the urge to turn around and check on Mog. Knowing that if she does that would mean turning her eyes away from FK.*
*Shivering slightly she puts that feeling aside for now. Though a tingle goes down her spine she remains focused on the problem at hand.*
*As FK makes another lunge at her Midnight brings the club back and goes for another strike hoping that this blow will be the one to knock him out.*
Well here goes...

*Clunk* *This is too much for a FrightKnight, although he feels that in hindsight he could have put up more of a fight if he hadn't had a drink first. FK staggers backwards, but with his final near-pirouette-like move, ensures that he falls on something not as smelly as a goblin, but onto a freshly polished wooden floor. Clearly the bout is now over at last, one that FK will look back on as 'not his greatest fight'* [ModNote: FrightKnight is heard from again in After the night before.]

*Midnight watches as FK rather ungracefully falls to the floor. Looking about the room as if for the first time she realises the mess her and FK have made.*
Oh dear.
*Spying George in the corner who seems to be flat out she quickly places the table back where it was and picks up the thrown flagon. Walking over to the bar she places the flagon on it and turns her attention to Owen.
Midnight: Sorry about that. How much do I owe you and can you tell me who that uuummmm guy is?

*The piper is now playing 'Perfect Ten'.*
*Owen gestures to some of the serving girls to clear up the mess.*
Owen: *To all the drinkers* Apologies for that incident, folks. We do tend to discourage, er... theatre group performances in the pub. But I s'pose we've got to live up to our name sometimes! Should you wish to calm your nerves, or show your appreciation, feel free to ask for a top-up.
*To Midnight* Midnight, is it? There's been some drinking done, some disruption done, some damage done... I'm inclined to take your entire purse, Miss. I only just got this place up and running again after the last riot! But, I can see it weren't all your fault, so pay me what you can.
That metal chap over there's a FrightKnight - one of Lord Fear's guards. With a load of goblins in tow. They did have a Goblin Master, but he died some time ago. Seems that the FrightKnight can't quite fill his shoes. You and your friend must've really done something to tick the Opposition off. I don't suppose you know what it was?

I'm dreadfully sorry about the mess and fighting.
*Gets out purse and gives Owen 5gold coins.*
I hope that makes up for the drinks the damage. Me and my friend only arrived in town a couple of days ago..
*Underbreath* Then bumped into Marcus.
*She forces Marcu's name through clenched teeth.*
*To Owen* Trouble seems to of followed us since then. Again I'm sorry that the trouble has followed us here. Is there anywhere in town where we can stay the night?

Owen: Marcus... I only ever knew one Marcus, but I doubt he'd show his face around here.
A place to stay, eh? No rooms here, I'm afraid. Normally, I wouldn't recommend the Wolf's Howl Inn, as it's a rival establishment; but if you can afford a room there, I reckon you'd be pretty well-defended from any, er... hunters. And I wouldn't mind having someone who could report back to me on what the heck the new owner's up to over there...
Then again, Redmun might not be taking new customers, if he's tearing the place apart and rebuilding it. And if it turns out he's a mate of the Opposition, you'd be in hot water without a paddle. Another option would be to ask around the town, and see if anyone's got a spare room.

*At this point the moogle wakes up... after all the comotion is over... as she lifts her head from the chair, she skelps her head off the table.*
OWWWWWW!!
*she then crawls to the edge of the chair, looks over the egde to the floor and falls with a thud*
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFF
*as she looks up, dazed, confused and seeing stars, she sees three Midnight's standing at three bars.....
ooooooh.... this cant be good.....
*she blinks a few times, and rubs her eyes... three then goes to two and then to one....*
*she then gets up and flutters... or maybe she wavered, but whatever it was it was anything but graceful.... more like dive bombing.....and belts straight into the side of Midnight....*
mmmmmmmmmphf...
*landing with a bump on the floor.*
Midnight?? what's all the mess? and why does my head hurt.... i can hardly see....and what's thats awful smell?
*all of a sudden, the moogle starts to make a choking noise.... and climbs up on the bar.... it then changes to a heaving noise, and just as one of the barmaid's walk by, the little cute fluffball, instantly looks anything but, as she throws up the alchohol from earlier, all over the maid....*

*The girl gasps, and unsure whether to have an outburst of anger or tears, scurries off to get cleaned up. A few customers chuckle. But not Owen, who is getting increasingly vexed.*

*Midnight jumps when Mog flies into her. At first she goes to pick her up but seeing that Nog is clearly unwell she decides to leave her be for now. Then Mog throws up and again the smell causes Midnights nose to twitch. Looks at Owen and sees his face getting redder and redder.*
*To Owen* Sorry about that. We'll be leaving now and just see where our feet takes us. Thanks for your patience.
*Places two silver coins on the bar.*
*To Mog* Lets go.
*Mogs flutters and lands on Midnight shoulder. They get out of the Crazed Heifer and just across the street Midnight spies Grippa and Rhark.*
*Sighs* Of all the rotten luck.

[OOC: I'd suggest a new thread for the encounter with Grippa and Rhark, perhaps in the Marketplace or Village section.]
*Owen groans gruffly, as he watches another serving-maid attempt to clear up the moogle vomit. He surreptitiously pours himself an Etruscan brandy under the bar, then crouching down for a second, knocks it back. Standing again, he looks over at the goblin and the FrightKnight still languishing in his tavern, now with more curiosity than frustration.*
*The piper is managing to calm the room slightly with a ditty called 'Turn Back Time'.*
