"Oh yes Catherine it is very secure."
*Finishes the Hot Chocolate.*
"Well thank you for the drink, but I must be off now. Hop I see more of you in the future."

*Before Marcus can say a word the door is closed and the woman faded from view.*

*Marcus Survas The Clossed Door for a few moments then turns and walks off into the night. Soon he is swolowed up by the darkness, eventualy he is gone just like he was a ghost, that came from the depths of hell and then returned there.* [ModNote: Marcus is next seen in The Watcher's Challenge.]

*A curtain moves from the window above the shop and then goes still.*
Well that seems to be a very nice young man. I shouldn't of been so hasty in getting him out though that was just plain rude.
*Catherine yawns and stretches and heads for the bedroom her bed calling her name.*
Oh well can't be helped now...I'm too exhausted to worry about that too much.....I need sleep.
*The light goes out and soon a gentle snoring is heard. Night ends and a new day begins there is birdsong in the air and Catherine wakes up ready to finish off unpacking the items downstairs an then opening up.*

**The sun get's higher in the sky and the marketplace begins to bustle with life. Catherine had been busy for the last hour or so thing getting everything just right. The books were at the far end of the shop, weapons and magical regeants behind the counter in locked cupboards but on view. Other supplies were on various shelves in some order. A sweet smelling scent filled the shop. Catherine unlocked and opened the door..waiting to see what her first day would bring.*

[ModNote: Hands was last seen in Ominous report to Lord Fear.] * Hands enters the shop, looking around at what is on display. * Oh, 'ello miss. My name is Sylvester 'Ands - you know, 'ands, like feet, but at the other end of your body - and I've been wonderin', are you buyin' as well as sellin'? 'Cos I've got these. * Hands produces the extremely expensive high-heeled shoes he stole from Midnight some time ago. He sees the woman's look of surprise. * Me, er, me sister died last week and left me these. Don't ask me why, she always was a few pints short of a tavern.

Sad you don't want to keep them for semtimantal value....
*Slowly Catherine looks at the shoes.*
You could use these more for a weapon than a shoe!!! They are indeed very expensive shoes...How much would you want for them if I did chose to purchase them??

*At that moment the commotion in the marketplace is reaching such a large level that it's even loud within the confines of the shop, a well dressed man enters, folding up & shaking him umbrella first to avoid wetting anything in the shop. He fears they may suspect he's come in to bring the rioting into the shop and quickly speaks, rather loudly to be heard over the noise outside.* "Awfully sorry to disturb you, I'm looking to make a purchase and I just had to get outside from that appalling racket. I assure you a gent such as myself has no plans to bring violence in here."

D'you mind? We're busy. Won't be long.
* Hands wonders what price would be appropriate for the shoes. He considers twenty gold pieces, thinks for a moment that this is rather excessive and then remembers that it was Charles Redmum who paid for them. *
Thirty gold pieces, miss, and a bargain!
* Hands, though not well versed in the prices of ladies' shoes, thinks Redmum probably paid at least this much for them, but still sees some haggling ahead. *

*To the gentleman.* I'll be with you in a minute good sir.
*To Mr Hands* Well from what I have seen so far there is not much call for these types of shoes and selling them maybe difficult.
*Goes silent for a moment.*
I'll give you 15 gold pieces for them.

* Hands is pleasantly surprised - given that the shoes are second-hand and he's making them out to be rather older than they actually are (he wished he'd had the sense to concoct a credible story making them seem new, though that would probably have taken him weeks), even if they were originally very expensive, he had expected the woman immediately to divide his price by five (or, rather, to name one much lower, the concept of the number five being perhaps beyond his capacity). Still, no harm in trying for the best deal: *
Twenty.

*On closer inspection Catherine could see there worth. With a good clean up and a bit of work they would look brand new. Anyway if they didn't sell as shoes she could take the heels off and form some type of weapon.*
17 gold pieces.

Done. * Hands hands over the shoes and pockets the gold before addressing the other man: * Sorry to keep you. * He looks at least comfortably well-off - Hands makes a mental note (not the easiest of tasks for him) and leaves. * [ModNote: Continued in The Watcher's Challenge.]

*Walter calls after Hands*
"No problem old boy, enjoy your newfound wealth" Walter grins and approaches the counter, "Excuse me miss, I am looking to find accomidation, only temporarily. I am staying in Wolfenden for a few days and unfortunately the local inn/hotel is closed for a muder investigation, rather unfriendly business. My point is would you be able to offer me any accomidation? I would of course pay full price"

*Look's at the gentleman strangely.*
What makes you think that I have any accomodation? I have a flat upstair's with two bedrooms but the guest room as yet has no bed. So unless you mind sleeping on a floor I can offer it to you. No cooking though, I'm busy enough as it is. How long do you plan on staying?
