[ModNote: DimensionGirl was last seen here.] *DG has been off touring the Knightmare realm and just returned to her now permenant lodgings (it's a long story) at the Wolf's Howl Inn a couple of days ago. During her long journey, she found a strange wand at the Rocks Of Bruin. To her surprise, she has found out she alone can wield it's magic - she figures this must be because she's the only one who knows how to use that magic. So now she is in her room, practicing various spells...* "Accio notebook!" *Her notebook flies across the room and she catches it in her outstretched hand* "Y'know, this should come in handy especially since I'm rubbish at learning Latin - all those long words! It's a good job I'm familiar with Harry Potter's world, even though where I come from, it's a fictional world too!" *Ponders this for a minute* "Not that I'm complaining, heh!" *She hears someone coming up the stairs, walking down the corridor and going into a room a few doors down*

*Night has fallen. As DG sleeps, her wand - although it is not really hers, and not exactly a wand - tumbles gently onto the floor. It might have been expected to fall with a clatter and awake DG, but it is a magical object, and drops more quietly than a globule of rain.
Because that's what it wanted to do. Just like it wanted DG to find it, when she approached it in the Rocks of Bruin. It recognised her, trusted her, allowed her to access its powers. But now it is time to for the artefact to be another's passenger for a while (if it can be found again), and to keep moving, in the hope of a reunion with its absent owner. It is giving up its safety, but is prepared to take such a risk.
The artefact rolls across the room, stirring up barely a speck of dust as it goes. As it comes closer to the window, it catches the moonlight and stops for a moment, perhaps recharging itself with lunar energy, or maybe just biding its time. Had DG been looking at it at that moment, she might have contemplated the gnarled, pockmarked thickness of the wood, and the holes along its side, illuminated by Nature's night-light. She might even have thought to herself that it looked less like a generic wand, and more like an attempt at whittling a primitive recorder.
The artefact rolls a little further, and vanishes.*

[This room has been appointed to DG with the help of her good friend Meliss, who then got her uncle Hordriss to intervene on DG's behalf, so DG would not be left homeless. Both of them are instrumental in DG having this room now]
*Wakes up suddenly and looks at her own alarm clock that she brought with her from her own dimension. The first thing on her mind is the wand...she knows something's not right. She's correct, the wand is not where she left it and she immediately starts rummaging around, searching everywhere in the room. It's nowhere to be found*
"My wand? Where the hell has it gone? S**t! Well it was probably someone else's wand and they lost it...but I found it and no-one I know here owns this wand. I was the only one who could use it. I could've helped people with it too! Damn. It's probably gone back to it's master, but how come I can still feel some power within me?"
*Points index finger at the wall and concentrates hard...a thin bolt of energy flies out and hits the wall, leaving a burnt area. Julia observes this with a bit of shock and says...*
"Oh boy."

*While realising what she's just done, Julia hears a commotion coming from downstairs and decides to see what's going on. It sounds like someone is screaming for help. Abandoning her anger at losing the wand, she goes out of her room (after sorting her appearance, of course), locks the door behind her and goes downstairs into the bar. There, she sees someone familiar to her, who seems to be hurt, and a girl who she doesn't recognise* [Continues in "Help"]

[ModNote: Continued from Rise Of The Serpent Men.] *In Julia's room at the Wolf's Howl, all is quiet. Just then a soft light starts to glow in the middle of the room and it gradually gets more intense. It dims down after this and clears to show Julia - still unconcious - lying on the floor. She starts to stir after a few moments and this time there is no paralysis. She sits up and all at once the memories from the recent experience come flooding back and she bursts into tears. This is not good, she thinks as she gets up, throws herself onto her bed and dissolves in floods of tears. This is not good at all, and it seems to her all her fault*

*Soon there was a knock on the door. Followed by a soft plesent voice.*
"Excuse me miss. Are you wanting your beding changed?"
*The Door opend slightly and a young lady in her mid 20's steped in. It was Jane Ragnell, although everyone called her "Raggie" due to the fact her clothers always looked more worn out then they were.*
"Miss?"
*She's Julia crying."
"Oh, What wrong Miss? There, there no need for that now."
*Gose over to Julia and kneels down beside her bed and lasy a comforting hand on her shoulder.*
"What the matter?"

*Calms down enough to tell Raggie everything that happened about being tricked by the Serpent Man into thinking she was going to free Hordriss and actually releasing a terrible new threat.*
"And it's all my fault. Aaagh I'm so naive at times...it makes me sick! Well that ends here. I need to tell everyone about this, they need to know the danger that's coming"

*Raggie lissens intently and nervously. She bites her bottom lip as Julia tells her about the figure she saw emreg from the Tree.*
"Aye Miss. It sound slike you have unleshed a Hornets nest of trouble and no mistake."
"But yer can't beat yerself up about it. This Serpent creature tricked you in to thinking you were doing good. I meen who wouldn't want to help out Hordriss?? It dosen't meen your nieve. It just mees you have a good hart. The main thing to do now is to pick yourself up and try and make things right."
"Crying over spilt milk won't solve any thing."

"You're right. I need to be strong. And what I'm going to do now is I'm going to go down to the bar and tell Dal. Then I'm going to speak up in front of everyone and warn them"
*Puts on a "resolve face"*
"The Powers That Be are going to have a fight ahead and I'm going to fight in their ranks even if it kills me"

*Raggie grabs Julia's arm just befoe she's out the door.*
"I don't dought your courage or sincerit miss. But lets be honest soem Wolfenden residents still don't belive in Atlantian's untill they see's one up close and personal. There just as likely to call you crazy as take your word for it."
"And besides There is no Powers That Be anymore."

*When she hears this last comment she stands stock still, she can't believe her ears.*
"Wh...what? N-no Powers That Be? But...but how? Ah this is worse than I thought, but surely someone would be able to fight this evil?"
*Suddenly feels faint and goes to sit down*
"Tom Troughton might be able to, if he's regained his strength enough. And maybe Hordriss, if only he would re-appear!"

*Raggie sits beside Julia.*
"I guess you hadn't heard miss. I thought what with you being from the realm of The Dungeoneer's you would know."
"After the 8th phase of the dungeon the realms Phase shifts got iregula and very dangerous. The realm fell into such cahos that the grip of both Treagurd and The Powers That Be as Well as Lord Fear and The Opposition was shaken considerably."
"The result is that there's little left of The Powers That Be, only fragments here and there. Like Hordriss or your freind Tom Troughton........and you."

*After hearing this bad news, Julia stands up and starts pacing the room* "Oh brilliant! Now what are we going to do? Tom and Hordriss are both very powerful and I have a limited power - although it's been drained I fear - but to be honest, this new guy seems even more powerful than Lord Fear, and that's saying something" *Paces a bit more and then stops and stares out the window, over to where the wood is* "Well I need to let Tom know ASAP. He and Hordriss are our best hope. Surely he's a bit better now than when I left him. He should be in his room at the moment, so I'll just go tell him now. Thanks for your advice Raggie" *Gets up and leaves the room. She knows it's safe to leave Raggie in charge of it for the moment. She goes to the door of Tom's room and listens at it, surprised to hear a raised voice which is not Tom's. But then she hears Tom's voice and assumes it's ok to knock - it's urgent anyway. She knocks twice* [Continued in "Bad Vibes"]
