Owen: You've been doing a good work today, Grimwold, but you're not due a break just yet. This dungeoneer may have more trouble in store...
*Zyssa, one of the newest serving wenches, smiles at Tom as she serves him his drink. She hopes he won't recognise her from her previous job, and make a jibe about it, like so many of the customers. Still, a berry wine drinker doesn't seem the type. And this one doesn't look the type either.*
Zyssa: You seem to have a lot of connections, Sir, if you don't mind my saying so! Dungeoneers, ogres...

*Tom returns the smile.*
"Thank you my dear and no I don't mind you saying so, although it's always nice for a person to be polite."
"But your right. When you travall around as much as I do, you tend to meet lots of people, some nice and freindly like master Young Grimwold, some odd and confused like Miss Raven, Some less then plesent could name a few there and some who are normal down to earth people like your self."
"Your new here arn't you though. But the again I've been away from Wolfenden for a while so it's likely you could have been here for a bit already."

Zyssa: I'm... I'm quite new to the Crazed Heifer, yes. But I've been... working in Wolfenden for quite some time. Long enough to know that there is unpleasantness aplenty in the hearts of some. Anyway, you seem far more interesting than I! You mentioned travels...
*Meanwhile, Slevela has returned with the old bread. Feeling a little guilty, but not keen to push her luck with Owen, she offers the stale food to Raven.*

*Raven snatches the bread with a quick thanks, not even bothering to look at the status of her life-force clock. She takes a bite, and winces as her teeth crunch through the age-old crust. She almost feels sick, but somehow stomachs the meal. She look at the wall where the Life-force clock was, but it has dissapeared again. She feels a bit of bile come up her throat and she forces herself to maintain a little bit of dignity, no matter how late it is.*
Thank you Owen. I er.. hope this hasn't ruined your day too much.
*Raven feels slightly startled at the sudden breeze of confidence, but it doesnt last long. She looks over at Tom and Zyssa, and she immediatly recognises Tom to be the one she saw first at the inn... and again at the school... She still doesnt know how she got there, but if anyone has an answer, its Tom.*
Tom!?
*Raven walks quickly over to Tom, but slips in the puddle of beer spilt by the Fish earlier. She hits her head on the ground (But doesnt pass out this time) and groans in agony. She gets back onto her feet and sloly makes her way over to Tom's table*

*Tom looked at Raven sighed and shook his head.*
"Can you get my freind here a glass of Berry wine to my dear."
*to Raven.*
"It'll help that headace of yours, and then I'll explain the situation to you."
*Zyssa passed the glass to Raven. Tom returns to chating to Zyssa.*
"Yes my dear I've travled quite extensivly in this realm and others. I am by way of being a Hobo Magician."
*as if to demonstrate he clicks his fingers and a small loaf of bread pops into being in front of raven.*
"To wash down that other less then palatable snack my dear."
*he says kindly to raven.*
"Just be sure to learn that now adays one can't barrter for food so easily."

*Raven glances at Owen before she takes the bread. She downs both the Wine and the Bread quite quickly, and gives herself hiccups*
To*hic*mha, I need to *hic* know wha*hic* is going on*hic*?

*Owen peers over at the dungeoneer. He can hardly believe his eyes: is the child drunk? He decides to turn a blind eye: he's had enough of Raven for the moment. If the wizard doesn't want to eat the Heifer's food, then let him deal with her. Owen walks off to deal with other customers.
The piper plays 'Walk Of Life'.*

*Tom looks at Raven and trys to work out how to explain his thoery to her.*
"Miss Raven, it is my belief that you are suffering from a condition known as P.T.D.S Or Post Traumatic Dungeoneering sydnrome."
"Your subconiuose mind still thinks your on the quest and as a result that is affecting your conuisness. Your seeing The Life Force clock in front of your eyes and beliveing your starveing to death."
*Raven nods*
"Well I can assure you Miss Raven that the Sprit of Life that binds you to this world and your world no longer exists as you no longer need it. Haveing been spell traped in that book for a decade your body has adapted to survive in this realm with out constently feeding a Life force."
"I am farily posetive and confidant that that is what is wrong with you."

*Raven is gripping the table edge quite hard*

*Tom looked at Raven blankly. She didn't remmember her breif time as a grown up female artcher. Then he had another thought.* "Maby the grown up Raven was only a temporal anomaly. residue left over from the spell trapping in the book and once it wore off Raven reverted to herself as it where." *Tom thought to himself. then looked at Raven again. It could be dangerous to tell her about the other Raven, her mind might not be able to take it.but then again she had a right to know.* "Raven after you where freed from the book that Lord Fear spell traped you in. I took you to The Wolfs Howl in order to recover." "However while there before my eyes you changed. You grew and aged 10 years into a young woman archer. In this form you accompanied me and Miss Julia to the School. But there when that Snake attacked you hit your head accidently and changed back to.........well you." "Now it's a possability that The "Archer Raven" was mearly a result of the the magic residue from your Spell Trapment in the book." "Or...or it could be another spell Lord Fear put on you which hasn't be broken yet." "So I can't gauruntee you won't age again. As such my dear can I hummbley sujest that you seek help for your P.T.D.S and also find out if there is some lingering magic residue or spell on your being." "And the best place to do that....*he says rumaging in his pockets and then pulling out a small bag of gold.* Is the Market place." "I'd sujest you try the shop owned by Miss Catherine Barter. You want some Dungeon Sickness pills for a start, They'll calm your brain down and level out the haluninations." "Next you need some detect powder. Which you'll need to bring back to me so I can use it to try and work out why you changed. I'll be at The Wolfs Howl Inn Ok?" *smiles at Raven.*

*Raven returns the blank stare, understanding half of what Tom had just said. She took the Gold and held it in her hand. She moved as if to get up, but she hesitates*
I.. I don't know where the market is.. I dont know anything about this realm. I.. I want to stay with you Tom.
*Raven looks to be on the verge of tears. Realising this she, quickly trys to bat them away and turns her head from Tom*

*Tom sighs heveily* "I'll be back later Miss Zyssa he says regretfully and we'll continue this chat then." *Turning to Rvaen.* "Come on Raven I'll teleport you to the Market and give you meens to get back to me. But It's to dangerous for you to be around me at the moment." *Before Raven can reply or protest Tom has cast his teleport spell and both of them have dissaperd.* (Continued in "Shopping for Answers" In the Market.)

*Young Grimwold looks morosely at the spot where Tom had been standing. Although he has long been wary of magic, YG wonders if perhaps his feelings are a distortion of jealousy. Conjuring up food with nothing but fingers and air, transporting yourself from place to place without taking a step - he knows that if he had such powers himself, he'd struggle to resist using them. Then again, should life really be that easy? If you live a life dependent on magic, is it not so much harder when you end up in a situation where you can't eat from the air, or vanish into it? Indeed, it has already happened: YG winces as he thinks back to Tom's fate in the Knightmare Battle Royale, and worries that one day, the hobo magician might find himself in such deadly trouble again one day. And if that day is today, then his friend never said goodbye. Jostling himself from his paranoia, YG returns to work, watching the folk in the Crazed Heifer as the babbling, boozing and belching of the tavern goes on. The piper plays 'I, Don Quixote'.* [ModNote: YG is next seen in A Glass Of Wine To Kill Time, here in the tavern.]
