[OOC: I'm imagining that since Robin, Ed and Julian were all stated to be 'at the bar', they are close enough to hear and speak to one another directly, should they choose to. For convenience's sake, let's say that the bar is short enough for anyone serving behind the bar to be able to hear most of what is said at the bar itself. Shall we assume that the 3 customers and 2 barmaids are now in a single conversation, at least for the moment?]
Slevela: Not always easy to get along with, is Callimpsest. He's happier around books than he is around people, and forgets his manners at times. But he's neither a dishonest man, nor a stupid one; and in this town, that alone makes him worth knowing.
*Slevela continues.* I'd wager that Callimpsest has been to Knightmare Castle at least once, on one of his scholarly expeditions. Whether I'd trust him as a lone escort through this realm is another question.
Lanesra: There's always Young Grimwold. He grew up in the old Dungeons. *She notices the empty state of Ed and Julian's drinking vessels.* More ale, gents? *She smiles.* And what do you call yourselves, by the way? I am Lanesra, and this is Slevela.

*Callimpsest listens to Zeytan and tries to take in as much information as possible. He is learning more about the mysterious continent and inhabitants of Atlantis than he ever imagined he would.* Fascinating. And what was your role in all these transpirations? Strictly an observer, or something more? Thouse first round of intrigue by the cult were before I was born. My father however played a big role in their ousting from power and was also a minister in the senate that managed to stabalise Atlantise following its bankruptcy. However I was present for their next activites and in fact was at least by blood linked to the alleged perpatrator of one. The cult belives that Ebbira will send 10 emmiserys. She's oftern depicted as takeing the forme of either a Giant Squid, a Lobster like creture or that of a Sirena. The 10 Emmiserys represent one of the 10 tenticals of her squid form. One it's said will be the purger of Atlantis and will set it to destruction to purge it and leave it ready fro when Ebbira and the 10th emmisery will rise it and build it anew. Hence why the cult was not to disturbed by the disatser they regarded it as part of the phropasey. and belived the one responcibale to be the fortolde Emmisery who would purifey Atlantise By the same token they were not appaled by the mass murder of members of the senate when the Parliment building was delibretly destroyed. Although that one hit closer to home for me then anything else they did for a number of ressons.

*At these words, Callimpsest cannot helping smirking at Malark, imagining for a moment that the cute, hapless mire-crab is the incarnation of a great deity! He does, however, continue to pay serious attention to Zeytan's revelations.*
Hence why the cult was not to disturbed by the disatser they regarded it as part of the phropasey. Just like they were not appaled by the mass murder of members of the senate when the Parliment building was delibretly destroyed.
Deliberate destruction of an honourable edifice. An all too familiar tale. But I must say, I am not altogether shocked. Ever since learning that a lizard Atlantean had been sent to the Opposition as a high-ranking servant, I have been open to the idea that even the races of Atlantis, depicted in all I have read as the epitome of enlightenment, must surely have their dark side. No offence meant to yourself.
*And yet, Callimpsest had felt sickened when Zeytan first mentioned the cult's appetite for destruction. Even the Romans, to whom political assassinations and building demolitions had been no guilty rarity, would not have welcomed the annihilation of their own empire and countrymen.*

*Zeytan shakes his head*
and none taken i can assure you my freind. I whole hartedly agree with you every culture no matter how enlightend will always have a darkside.
Like I say though the Parliment attack...if it was them...was the event that hit me hardest the most.
Not just the loss of life but also the un-ansrewed questions...You see the trial of the accused never happend due to the loss of Atlantise just before.....
*sighs and shakes his head.*
Before my brother could be brought before the court to ansrew charges that he had caused the collpas of the building and was responcibale for the deaths of 56 people.

*Callimpsest is sure that Zeytan is referring to Leytan. Leytan reminds Callimpsest of the legendary Greek figure Heracles (or Hercules, as the Romans called him): the product of two races, mortal and Olympian, yet not at home among either (not while alive, at any rate); astoundingly violent, with countless murders to his name; oddly idiosyncratic one day, wildly unpredictable the next; yet a remarkably powerful and skilled warrior who, for all the people he protected and the good he did, deserved a reputation as a hero, perhaps even a tragic hero. Not that Callimpsest is overly fascinated by Leytan: he seeks neither to demonise him nor lionise him.*
From what I know of your brother - and he does, it seems to me, want to be known - he would have claimed to have had a solid justification for such an act. Or do you believe he was innocent of it?

*Zeytan shakes his head.*
I'm unsure what to belive. He's deffinatly a member of the cult he's never made any secret of it. In fact some of the cult's leaders belive him to be one of the Emmiseries. Also the collapse had been caused by the foundations being weaken by hevey Ice. And he is more then capable of arranging for that to happan & he was in Atlantise at the time.
Yet its so out of character for him in another way. I meen that is a slopy way to kill. Plus theres no garuntee that innocnet people who weren't politicians or ministers wouldn't have been killed in the collapse. Leytan's never spoken on the matter

'Julian Lapis and Edward Kenji' he replied, beckoning to himself and his colleague respectivly. 'Professors, but I have a feeling that title doesn't mean a great deal here.'
'I think we could hack another round. This stuff's quite nice actually. Faint taste of the Old Speckled Hen. What's it called?'

Slevela: Grimdale Ale. That's what we usually offer when a customer doesn't ask for anything more specific. It comes from a nearby province. Lanesra: Did you say you're professors? Well, that might open a few doors for you. Slevela: But you're better off trying a Sesame spell or a good hard kick. *At that moment, a maid from the Wolf's Howl Inn enters the Crazed Heifer. [OOC: Continuing from 'Draconian at the Door'.] Lanesra recognises her.* Lanesra: Hello there, Sasha. Stopping for a drink? Maid, a.k.a. Sasha: Oh no, sorry, Lanesra. I'm just here on Wolf's Howl business. Lanesra: Oh. *She turns her attention back to Ed and Julian.* What Slevela meant by her remark just now is that it's muscle or magic that give a man an advantage in these lands. On the other hand, Callimpsest will be chuffed to meet two academics, I reckon. And the green-eyed fellow he's with, Zeytan, who may even be a professor himself. He's certainly a tutor. *Meanwhile, Sasha the maid has approached PhoenixFlame's table.* Sasha: Excuse me, Miss PhoenixFlame. It's me, Sasha Pearl from the Wolf's Howl Inn. I've been your chambermaid on a few occasions. I'm sorry to disturb your drink, but I have a gentleman - a sweet, wonderful gentleman - who needs your help. It's regarding the School.

"Concerning the school?" she replied looking puzzled, "What queries does he have concerning the school?"
*Phoenixflame looks calmly at Sasha as she waits for a reply*

Sasha: He is waiting for us outside. Come with me, and you may ask him yourself. He shall be ever so grateful for your assistance, miss, I assure you of that.
*Sasha begins to walk away from the table, towards the door, hoping for PhoenixFlame to follow her.*

*Callimpsest looks at Sasha the Maid as she moves in the direction of the door. He isn't sure he recognises her, but he's always had some difficulty telling the Wolf's Howl Inn's chambermaids apart. He turns to PhoenixFlame.*
A situation that seems to demand your attention, Headmistress. I sense that our discussion of Atlantis has been boring you and Morwena a tad anyway!

*Phoenixflame looked thoughtfully at Sasha's departing back, and murmured, half to herself, "This doesn't feel right..."
She turned to Callimpsest and smiled* "You weren't boring me, I promise, it is interesting to listen to, I've read about Atlantis, but to hear about it is fascinating, and I'm sorry I have to leave so soon!"
*Phoenixflame stands, and bows to both Zeytan and Callimpsest, then motions for Morwena to come along as well. She smiles at both of them, and then turns to follow Sasha. As Morwena settles on her shoulder, Phoenixflame speaks to her in an undertone*
"Keep an eye out Mor, something doesn't feel right"
*Morwena nods, and looks unusually serious*

Farewell, Headmistress. Goodbye, Morwena. I hope we will soon meet again.
*When they have left the tavern, Callimpsest lets out a sigh and a chuckle.*
For the second time today, they have left without paying!
*Callimpsest sets aside a gold coin to cover PhoenixFlame and Morwena's drinks, and places it on the table.*
Now, Zeytan, you were talking about an abundance of frozen water at the parliament building. I know of only one race that might possess the power, or indeed the inclination, to command ice in such a manner. You are, it so happens, drinking their wine.
